Every time I go to Southcenter Mall, I'm always tempted to go here and indulge in some ice cream and sweets. This particular visit wasn't my favorite, though. As part of the SEVENTEEN collab that was going on, I went with friends from LA to get their ice cream desserts here, which is located inside Southcenter Mall not too far off from Macy's and Bath & Body Works. They serve ice cream with a taiyaki fish, or by itself (among other choices). This is an outside place within the mall, so no word on service here, and ambience is basically tied with the mall: bustling with people and overly noisy. I got the ube and honeydew swirl as my ice cream base as part of the collab and... oh boy the mixture didn't turn out very well. I did request this as a taiyaki with a custard filling which was very well done and the filling was tasty, but the honeydew ice cream overpowered the entire thing. I ended up eating every part of the dessert but the honeydew ice cream. This isn't to say that the place isn't good; many of my previous visits were met with delicious ice cream and taiyaki of various fillings that worked no matter how I paired it, and fully worthy of a 5-star review. This particular pairing just didn't work for me.

Right off the bat; server was rude. She was not engaging with any customers on the line and ignored me when I said excuse me to get her attention. When finished ordering she got annoyed cause my cousin couldn't hear her say what toppings on her icecream. She sucked her teeth instead. We ordered 4 ice creams and when it came to the milk soft serve she "ran out" it was the height of the cup itself.. which was like half. I asked her if she can fill the rest with matcha flavor soft serve instead? She said we can't mix flavors. I then had to insist that we paid full price for her to give us half? Then she gave us another cup of matcha soft serve after being annoyed. She basically slid the cup across the counter and said take this one then; without giving a spoon or nothing; then continued to work on other orders. All issues aside the ube soft serve was sooo good and my personal favorite. The matcha was creamy but not much tea flavor.

Conveniently located in the middle of Southcenter Mall and everything is made to order. With that said, there is a wait for your order as they make them fresh. The kids love seeing how their tayaki is made. I love the red bean and my kids love the Nutella tayaki. We also enjoyed their soft serve items.

Ever since the Hawaii location closed, I always like to stop by in Washington or California but this is my least favorite location. The taiyaki and soft serve are consistent with the other locations but the employees here are horrible. They always seem like they're in a bad mood even when asked simple questions. We were there over an hour before closing and they stopped making taiyakis which was a disappointment as well. Overall I like the ice cream but the service really needs improvement.

Always a hit after a full day of shopping. I love the flavors they have, but one of the problems I have is they seem to always run out of the popular flavors which kinda sucks cause I always have to choose the same one usually. The service is kinda slow just because there's only 1 or 2 ppl working there, so be patient with them! It's near the bath and body works store. This location is kinda big! No seats in front, but you look around for seats elsewhere. Always good service and yummy ice cream when I go.

Located across B&BW and Pop Mart at the Southcenter Mall. They have taiyakis and soft serve ice creams. I got the matcha soft serve with Oreo and macaron. I don't think there was lactose milk because the menu didn't say it compared to other flavors which is a plus! Tasty and great price (~$4.95 for soft serve in a cup). The portions are smaller than before if you look at my old pic which was the matcha & Ube swirl. My brother got two taiyakis for $4.99 and he said it was also good. They make it to order so it was fresh and warm. They offer a variety of taiyaki fillings as well!

First time trying Somisomi and I thought it was pretty solid. I got the ube and matcha flavors which were good! However the macron that came with it was stale, you could probably do without it. The workers and service there was fine, given it was near the end of the night. The location is inside the mall and had a nice vibe to it.

I first tried SOMISOMI in Las Vegas a few years ago and FINALLY made the time to stop by Southcenter to try it locally! There was quite a few people outside of SOMISOMI, but it seemed like it was fast service. Customers have the ability to order with the self-ordering screen, or with a staff member. I am glad SOMISOMI is located in a spot that isn't so crowded in the mall. My sister and I each ordered our own Upside Down Ahboong. I went with the ube soft serve flavor with custard filling for the taiyaki. My sister decided on the matcha and milk swirl soft serve flavor with Nutella filling in her taiyaki. When that part is ready, you are able to add your choice of any topping and a choice between a macaron or fresh strawberry. I love soft serves and the soft serve here is so good! It doesn't melt immediately. We were able to walk back to our car and it still hadn't begun to become a melting mess. It's just the right amount of sweetness as a little treat!

After seeing this so much on social media, I really wanted to try it but could not find it in the PNW, until I stopped by Seattle! Somi Somi has quite a few fun soft serve flavors with plenty of toppings, so you can truly customize your dessert. You can also decide how your dessert comes! Service was a bit slower than I expected, especially when seeing three people working; I was the only person who had ordered. But, it wasn't a big deal (except for the fact that when my I got my ice cream, it had already begun melting). The ice cream itself was great though! Although I do think it is a bit overrated, I wouldn't mind stopping here again if I was shopping.

This place has been open for quite some time But have always managed to walk past it. We decided it was finally time to try it out. There was barely a line. However, no body takes your order and it's just a kiosk (which has a lag, mind you) so it took a strangely long time. But once our order went through, we seemed to have gotten it fast. We ordered the one in the cup with the fish on top with cookies and cream ice cream and Nutella filling. What I didn't know was you get to add toppings (which they ask you as they finish preparing your dessert). Overall, I think it's a good value for a nice treat at the mall.

We dropped by SomiSomi an hour before closing tonight. The employee who took our order was nice and we got the cookies and cream, taiyaki with Nutella filling and cocoa crispies on top. There was a group in front of us but the wait was very short. You have the choice of two toppings and a macron to add to your soft serve. It was so delicious that not a drop went to waste. The taiyaki fish filled with Nutella was really the star of the show. They have several standard flavors and 3 rotating flavors (usually two swirled together). It's 6.95 for what we got and was a real treat.

I loved that you could customize the filling somewhat and that they had deals for 2 or 5 piece sets. They had a decent number of fillings. The server was polite and friendly. It did take a while of ours to come out, but it seemed like perhaps with just one person working, they had to do each order one by one. I'm glad there's a cute spot like this in the mall now to grab a snack!

GEN KOREAN BBQ @ SOUTHCENTER MALL…read more Parking is super easy at this location since it's in the Southcenter Mall, with plenty of free parking available. We found a spot right out front, and it's nice that you can also walk around the mall before or after your meal since there are lots of other shops and restaurants nearby. This was my first time trying JEN Korean BBQ with my family, and I was excited since I'd heard they have several locations across the U.S. We came for dinner, which is about $35 per person for the all-you-can-eat menu, while weekday lunch is around $25 per person, making it a great value if you're looking for AYCE Korean BBQ. They have a great selection of meats, plus plenty of appetizers. The corn cheese was definitely one of my favorites and is always a must-order for me. Everything came out fresh, and there were lots of options to choose from. The staff was friendly, attentive, and quick to bring out refills. I also really liked the ambiance the darker interior gives the restaurant a cozy, modern feel that's perfect for enjoying a meal with family or friends. Overall, I had a great experience and would definitely come back. If you enjoy Korean BBQ, this is a fun spot where you can cook your own food, try a variety of meats and sides, and eat as much as you want. It's a great place for groups, family dinners, or anyone craving all-you-can-eat Korean BBQ.

Price Point - There are several meat options served here that are very expensive but we tried it all. Being from Missouri I knew that the prices would be a bit more than what I was used to but it really wasn't that significant. For 4 people who ordered a little bit of everything, we spent 140$ That's three appetizers, 2 sides, and 5 main dishes. For special occasions, celebrations, corporate dinners, this place seems like a great option. Now, in regard to the portion sizes. Pretty simple explanation, they do feel a bit small. Lastly, do they have options for children? I would say no but that depends on what kind of food your kids eat Hahha. This is more of an adult restaurant not particular organized for kids meals. Overall, I definitely recommend everyone check this place out. The food is so fresh and flavorful. We lived the experience and would definitely come back if we find ourselves in town again.

The staff is gracious, prompt, professional, and - I hope no one objects when I say this - rather attractive. Generous portions and reasonable prices for what you're getting. The food is nothing sort of legendary - bold flavors and dishes have the perfect balance of sweet, heat, savory, and umami. THE THORNS: None significant enough to mention. NEITHER ROSE NOR THORN: It is important to note that this place is insanely popular with the area's Korean community. The restaurant is quite busy Thursday thru Sunday, and significant waits for a table are likely. Monday thru Wednesday is your best time for going and getting a table without a wait. The price of some dishes, like their signature offering, Kalbijjim, might give you a pause ($80+). It is important to keep in mind this is made to order, and one serving can easily serve four regular appetites. If you're just a couple, you're definitely going to be taking this home with you. This is not a bad thing, as Kalbijjim is one of those dishes that is even better the next day and doesn't suffer from reheating. THE VERDICT: Daeho Kalbijjim is extremely popular, and it's not hard to see why. The execute authentic Korean cuisine pretty much flawlessly with efficient and charming service. What else to you want in a restaurant? Highly recommend. Just try not to go on the busy days.

The first time I visited, the quality of the meat cuts didn't impress me, and the soups lacked depth of flavor. I'm not talking about needing more salt--the broth itself just tasted flat. When you're paying close to $30 for a bowl of soup, I think it's reasonable to expect a higher level of quality and care to ingredients. The second visit was a mixed experience. To be fair, I was in the wrong. There is a clearly posted policy stating that your entire party must be present before being seated. My group was about seven minutes away, and since I had already checked in on Yelp and there were only two parties ahead of me with no one physically waiting, I asked if I could be seated and order while I waited. I had already been standing inside for about 10 minutes. I was told that although tables were available, seating me ahead of the other parties on the waitlist would be unfair. I understood the reasoning, but she had also asked prior for my order. Her explanation left me confused so i sheepishly said I understood the policy. She already seemed upset by the time i had gotten there. Sometimes we have off days i get that. This place is clearly hit or miss, I've got friends who absolutely swear by it. For me, though, it wasn't anything special and didn't justify the price. If you're looking for Korean food in the area, I've had better experiences with higher-quality dishes elsewhere, especially in Lynnwood.
