While visiting in Balfour BC we stopped in for a quick lunch. Great little patio overlooking the lake with nice views... but that's where the good ends. Service was slow, and I waited about 10-15 minutes before going inside to get menus, following the lead of another table. Food was not good, and prices were outrageous for what you got. The poutine uses shredded cheddar-mozzarella mix, and fries were not crisp. Grilled cheese sandwich was over stuffed with cheese which was shredded, not sliced, same mix that was on the poutine. Pita wrap was okay, but I chose the side soup which was terrible, had to send it back. I will say that the vanilla ice cream sundae was actually pretty good, great vanilla bean ice cream and tasty waffle bowl. Drinks were okay, but the lime garnishes were old and spent.

Dock N Duck was a good place to pull over and have some breakfast prior to getting in line to take the ferry across Kootenay Lake. They had just started serving breakfast and was previously a pub and grill only open for lunch and dinner. The dining area for breakfast was quite small and pretty packed. They also have a few tables that are outside. Had the "classic" Eggs Benedict with hash browns and was quite good. I don't know if this is a normal Canadian thing or if it was their twist on the classic, but the egg was poached and not over easy as I have found in the States. Hash browns were not the shredded, but the cut into squares. The hash browns could have used a bit more seasoning, but that's my particular taste. Service was friendly and with a smile. If not wanting to grab a bite on the ferry, this would be a good alternative.

The service was extremely friendly and so helpful with good character. the atmosphere was relaxing with a great view of the lake. The food had a great family feel and you could feel that mama was working hard in the kitchen, overall 2 thumbs up with a smile of satisfaction.....and to end this experience I ordered dessert, omg it was like great sex in my mouth....and I just had a food orgasm ....... now going to sleep in the car to dream of heaven.

Food was excellent for the most parts, with delicious black ribs, beef burgers, & potato wedges. Very nice views of the Kootenay Lake. Services are great. The prices are OK, about 25 CAD for one full order of black ribs and 17 CAD for one half order.

Food was good. Prices were ok but not great. The beer however tasted watered down. It is conveniently next to the ferry boarding area.

The Library Lounge has a very old English Gentlemen Club look and feel with bookshelves on the walls ( hence Library ). I say amazing customer service is that the restaurant staffs are very accommodating and also courteous, while we were waiting for our table, ( they had a very very busy Wednesday night ), even the Bar Tender came to chat with just keep us happy. We ordered: To start : Beef Barley Soup / Borscht both were done well but it took about 45 mins. before our soup appeared, our server did communicate to the kitchen but still our soups were not ready until later! I do not blame the server at all, but I saw a few tables before us got their soups or salads and they all came after us. Oh well, sometimes the kitchen staffs are hard to deal with. Steak & Prawns - Cooked to perfection, the meat is slightly on the lean side for my taste, but still very flavourful. Seafood Pasta - Tomato based sauce filled with Halibut, Salmon, Mussels etc. Creamy and full of fresh tomatoes, the pasta can be a tad more al dente and will be perfect! Nice ambience, with live music, this is a great spot to come enjoy a relaxing evening with good food and wine, and of course the very friendly staffs and even fellow dinners!!

The restaurant tables are spaced apart for covid social distancing. Very friendly and help staff made recommendations to what is good on the menu. Like everything! LOL Ordered the following: - 2 Smokey Paprika Salmon with choice of soup or salad at $29.00 each - 1 Grilled Salmon Salad $17.00 - 1 Veal cutlets $25.00 Of course with white wine that was suggested by our waitress can't remember the name, was so good. Ordered Dessert: -Pie special: Blueberry A la mode $10.00 -White Chocolate Cheese Cake $8.00 Desserts are all made in house we were told by our wonderful waitress This stop was well worth it for the food and the history of the building
