There was trash and food all over the ground and table. I have seen restaurants in the 3d world in better shape.

Nice place right on the water. Try the Crab Fluff. We usually travel an hour from Hampstead (summer weekends) to eat lunch/dinner here.

Dock of the Bay is a local favorite for those of us who live in Eastern Baltimore County Maryland (Millers Island/Sparrows Point/Edgemere). Located on the shore of the Chesapeake Bay with a stunning view of the Miller's Island (aka Craighill) Lighthouse, this large bar/restaurant offers a wide variety of delicious seafood dishes, steamed crabs, amazing crab cakes, burgers, steaks, sandwiches, nightly specials and monthly specials too. You name it, they have it. The bar have lots of drink specials, too. Game days are always good times: full of energy and a lively atmosphere with TV's everywhere. During boating season, boaters can visit with plenty of dockage available. There is a huge playground for the kids, lots of shaded outdoor seating and live music, too. There is an area just off the main dining room for special events. We held a retirement/birthday party with a band there for my husband. Everything was great! The staff was super accommodating and the food was delicious. The service is always very friendly. Our last visit was in late March after a visit to DC for the Cherry Blossom Festival. The buffalo wings for an app were perfect. Our entrees were piping hot and delicious: tender beef short ribs, savory bacon wrapped scallops, chicken Chesapeake and a shrimp salad sandwich. Don't hesitate to experience this beautiful bayfront restaurant for yourself.

I came here recently with a large group (I believe there were 8 of us) for drinks and an early dinner. It was a Saturday afternoon so they were pretty busy, but we were seated at a table outside right away. We were a little disappointed with our table as it was literally the only one in the shade on their patio (it was a beautiful day, we wanted to be in the sun!), but we were able to move the table itself a few feet so we got some sunlight. Most of us ordered one of their crushes, which come in lots of flavors and are always made well. I'm partial to the orange, which I feel like is more orange-y than I've had in orange crushes at other places. Their food is good, but it's never something I'm really dying to go back for. On this visit a few of us shared their dock fries (fries with nacho cheese and bacon), seared ahi tuna, and snakehead bites. The dock fries are probably one of my favorite menu items, and they didn't disappoint on this day. They always come out hot and I find they have a good amount of cheese for all the fries. The seared ahi tuna and snakehead bites were decent as well but I'm not sure if I'd order them again. I was really interested in the snakehead bites in particular as it was my first time seeing them on a menu somewhere. They were battered and fried, which I think works well for the fish, but they could have used some sort of sauce to dip or dress them in. If I remember correctly, they were only served with coleslaw. Dock of the Bay is a nice place to go in the summertime when you can enjoy their outdoor seating and waterfront views. I've always enjoyed their food and drinks and I'm sure I will continue to return.

We were in MD on vacation and the family picked this place for us to eat. It was positively delicious! Hidden little treasure tucked in the middle of a neighborhood! Nice sized parking lot. Indoor and outdoor seating. Great for big groups or something more intimate . The kids (being from Arizona) loved going out to the dock while waiting on the food to arrive. They thought it was super cool. Hubby and I enjoyed the scenery out there too! The wait staff was all so very nice and informative too. The place itself was clean as was the restrooms. Everything we ordered was so amazing. We will be going here again!

Dock of the Bay is a great place at anytime of the day and you can't beat looking out over the water at the Lighthouse with a cold beverage. Love their burgers and when crab season is in be sure to bring the family. Always great service.

Hubby brought me here for my birthday. This was our first time at this restaurant. There was ample parking. After parking and walking to the door, there was a sign posted on the door advising that their eas a crabmeat shortage. As we entered, we stopped at the hostess stand and waited to be seated. The young hostess aked if we wanted indoor or outdoor seating, we decided on dining inside. Then she asked if we had a seating preference, and we advised not too close to too many people. We were seated by the window the overlooked the outdoor seating and the bay area. We overlooked the menu and once our server came upon our table, we were ready to order. We started with the calamari for an appetizer. I ordered the build your own entree, which included the salmon (I chose broiled) and it came with two sides, and I chose the side salad, no onions w/ oil and vinegar and baked potato. My husband ordered the seafood sampler, which came with shrimp, scallops, oysters, and Mahi Mahi, along with cucumber salad, string beans, and french fries. And for our drinks, he had the Heineken Zero and I had the Mango Chesapeake Bay Crush. The appetizer came out with fresh marinara sauce. The seasoning was on point, and they were served pipping hot. The best part I like that we were able to enjoy our appetizer in peace before being bumb rushed with entrees (which I hate). Finally dinner was served. Everything looked amazing and we immediately dived in. And there was no complaints from us. Everything was cooked to perfection and we already making plans to come back and try more entrées. I finally was able to drink my Mango crush... the drink was really good and had the right amount of alcohol. Finally after devouring our meal, we tried to hunt down our server to see the dessert menu. When she did come to remove the dishes, she advised she would come back to tell us the desserts. After minutes of waiting, we feared our server forgot us. So I left to go to the bathroom and hoped she came and informed my husband of the desserts. When I returned, he said I think our server forgot us. Finally we waved her down, and she downplayed saying she was waiting on me to return from the ladies room. Yeah ok! She did give us a list of different desserts, but since it was birthday I decided on the strawberry cheesecake cake, which was really good. Yum yum yum. It was so moist and sweet. I am glad I chose it, even after I saw the Maryland layered cake. I would've gave 5 stars, which they do deserve, but I hate chasing down a server. Overall, food was good and I highly recommend this place.

Not gonna lie I though dock of the bay was racist for a while but no it was my misperception. Even if they were I'd call ice on my mama for one of they're delicious crushes or an item off of they're frequently updated special food menu. I mean I'd send my cousins back home to make shoes for just a nibble of they're delicious crab cakes. The freakin potato skins bro, THE POTATO SKINS! they're kind of just regular potato skins. I mean what do you expect it's a potato with some stuff on top you guys need to lower your expectations I mean geez. The wait staff are very friendly my waitress taught me how to read. The outdoor seating is lovely especially because I'm a very attractive man and attractive people love to eat outside where the birds and squirrels live. I mean some people have pet birds but they're like pet bird people. I'd rather eat a slinky than have a pet bird. Although I did watch this documentary about how smart crows are, crows are pretty cool.

Food was decent but nothing special for me. The view of the bay is quite lovely. This would probably be the type of place I would bring my family who are all-American, not adventurous with food, type of people. Waitress was very nice, seemed like she had to wait on a large part of the restaurant so service was a little slow. Ordered the crab cake special (came with mac/cheese, green beans, roll). The crab cake was huge! Can order it broiled or fried, I had it broiled at the recommendation of the waitress. No complaints, very large chunks of crab meat. The rest of the sides were just A-ok. Fine, but not food I would go out of my way to go to a restaurant for. Had strawberry shortcake for dessert. This was also just fine. If I ever went again it would be for the view of the bay.

Our server, Dom, was really friendly and attentive. There's a pretty extensive drink menu, including frozen cocktails, which were perfect to beat the heat that day. My parents shared the 1lb of steamed shrimp and a basket of fries, my husband had the cubano and fries, and I had the Jamaican jerk Caesar wrap and fries. Everything was fine, we ate until we were full but nothing to write home about. There was live music on the man-made beach area, and the place was packed for Father's Day. It was a beautiful day and a fun stop to make, but I don't think we'll be back for those prices.

I finally brought my three boys, plus a friend and her child, for what I hoped would be an easy, enjoyable dinner. Unfortunately, the experience was the exact opposite. We arrived around 6:40 and were told a 20‑minute wait. Fine. But we weren't seated until nearly 7:20. Once seated, we waited another 15 minutes before anyone acknowledged our table, and only after we flagged someone down ourselves. When the food finally started trickling out, it was chaos: two kids' meals missing, two kids' drinks missing, two baskets of fries missing, and, unbelievably, no utensils for the entire dinner. We asked multiple servers, including our own, and never received a single fork. We were literally forced to eat with our hands. It didn't stop there. We reminded our server three separate times that the kids' pizza never arrived. After 35/40 minutes, my 3‑year‑old was crying from hunger, and my 5‑year‑old was upset because we were taking food off his plate to share with his brothers. Any restaurant that claims to be family‑friendly knows you bring out kids' meals first. Instead, my children survived off an appetizer and a single basket of fries that showed up 40 minutes into the meal. Our server was clearly overwhelmed, and honestly, the restaurant should have just said they were at capacity instead of seating us and providing a disastrous experience. Drinks tasted like watered‑down juice. My cocktail from the Dolly menu was a complete miss, and both my husband and friend agreed theirs were just as bad. For two cocktails, one tiki nacho with jerk chicken, one pizza with a soft drink, and one crab dip, our total somehow hit $130. We were told the two pizzas wouldn't be charged, but I'm almost certain they were. Same with the second basket of fries that never arrived. And then I learned they automatically add an 18% gratuity, which explains the level of service.....Our server knew her tip was guaranteed regardless of performance. This location failed on every level: service, timing, accuracy, hospitality, and value. I will absolutely be telling people to avoid this place unless they want their time wasted and their money taken. Truly one of the most disappointing dining experiences I've had in years. P.s. I did add a photo of the surrounding boots so show how "busy" it was as well as the amount of wasted food because we got tired of eating with our hands. Honestly feels like they should be paying me for having wasted my time like this.

The first thing I noticed was the host was so patient and kind. She also was so friendly. Once we were sat we were greeted by our server who was also extremely kind and helpful with our questions and needs. We placed our drink orders, a mocktail for me (Cranberry Cosmo) and a Charly's Crush for my friend. The mocktail was served in a martini glass and was so delicious. I'll be honest I was impressed and pleased that the mocktail was only $9 as some places charge the same price for mocktails as they do cocktails. We ordered appetizers for dinner 2 crab pretzels and crispy brussels. The crab pretzel was soft, delicious and had the perfect amount of old bay, crab meat + cheese! The brussel were crispy, with priscuitto, a homemade dijon mustard sauce and gorgonzola cheese. For three of us this was perfect and delicious! The restaurant is beautiful and on the water. One of the things I really love is that you can sit inside but with the garage doors open you feel like you're on the patio. Outdoors there are benches, yard games and mini golf. And while there was live music that was ending for the evening it didn't feel overly loud or overwhelming. My only complaints about this evening were not the fault of the restaurant but we did have a few flies around our table that were annoying. And I was really hoping to have an egg custard snowball with marshmallow and they were out of marshmallow :)! I would 100% visit again and continue to try different menu items!
