So I don't get the hype but then I do get the hype. As a kid, I grew up in the village and Drug City was where we always picked up prescriptions. I don't recall the "Fountain" in the 70-80's but if you're from the area I totally get the local support and they do have decent prices and discounts. My food today was average although the service was nothing less than perfect. I saw others eating pizza, chicken fingers and comfort food. I had the French dip which was a special today and it was decent. The restaurant is small but does boast a counter bar for any solos. It's worth a visit. read more

This establishment should have ALL the stars just based on service, friendliness and atmosphere alone! Then add the food and the drinks and ALL the additional stars as well. If I lived locally this would definitely be the place o would want to be a regular. I had the Rachel and Old Bay chips and it was outstanding. My Diet Coke was made the old fashion soda shoppe way. A nice, quaint, little speakeasy inside Drug City. The atmosphere is that of an olde time diner, but with an extensive whiskey selection at fair prices. Kind of small, so I'd imagine it can get real busy real quick. I've only ever gone right when they opened. The sandwiches are pretty good, but it's the sweets and the alcohol that keep me coming. The staff is very nice and knowledgeable when it comes to their whiskey selection. While I haven't tried any of the milkshakes or sundaes, the brownie and pies are very delightful. If you like whiskey and in the Baltimore area, I would highly recommend checking The Fountain out! read more

I walked in and was shocked to find not just a pharmacy, but a spacious liquor store and a charming little restaurant inside. Seriously, where am I?! The restaurant serves fantastic sandwiches on fresh bread and has a full bar and local ice cream. I was blown away! It's the perfect spot for a lunch break, and I could easily spend all day here. The wait staff at The Fountain did a fantastic job in providing top notch hospitality from start to finish. Our server was quick to get us seated and beverage orders taken. Food and specialty drinks from the soda jerk came out quickly considering the extra time they take to prepare. Food/Drink: We ordered several things from both the food and drink menus and everything came out fantastic. Beverage wise, we ordered a black cow (root beer with vanilla ice cream mixed in) float, an old fashioned egg cream and a toasted strawberry milkshake. All ice cream based drinks are made with Taharka ice cream which is a local favorite based out of Hampden. On the food front, we ordered the reuben and the all American club. Both sandwiches were piled high with deli meat and came with a side of chips which can be tossed in an array of seasonings by request. WOw!!! You walk in and its like being transported to the past. Its cozy, ambient, and has old time music playing. Its also gleamingly clean and crisp. The food was nothing short of impressive, like shockingly good for a sandwich style restaurant. Service was fast and fun and friendly. GET THE CHIPS!!!!! You can flavor them!!! This is the cutest little place nestled inside of a local drug store. I was recently there on an errand and my teen daughter and frnd begged me to go in there and have an ice cream. Apparently the place has a great vibe according to them. Our waiter was awesome, almost felt like I was in a fancy restaurant then a tiny restaurant. He really interacted well with the two teenagers even though they asked him a million questions. I felt very welcomed. The place is set up like an old fashioned soda fountain and lunch counter. I wish I would have taken more photos. We ended up getting a soda which ou can have in like 15 flavors and then on our refill he encouraged us to try another flavor. I had the grape and root beer. We decided to get lunch. I had heard their crab cakes are awesome but unfortunately they were out that day but since I'll be going back I'll definitely get to try them. I ordered a chicken salad sandwich...very good and filling. My daughter got chicken nuggets and her friend got crab dip with pretzel bites. They both enjoyed their lunch as well. We then finished it off with one scoop of ice cream each. DELICIOUS! The prices are very reasonable. At least I think so. 3 meals 3 drinks and 3 desserts was about 30 dollars. Been to The Fountain on many occasions. Always wonderful! Service is always great, the servers go above & beyond! You just don't find good servers like that in Dundalk anymore. I've had many different items off the menu and every single thing has been excellent! I do hate that they removed the spinach/artichoke dip though, that was the bomb.
