Spent a weekend at Dock Street Marina, checking out Tacoma & hanging out on the boat. The location allows easy access to quite a bit: the glass museum, UW Tacoma campus, the free link train to most of downtown and there is a Starbucks within close range too. The marina has a great shower/restroom facility. Very clean and updated. Laundry is also available. Upon check-in, we were given a welcome packet with info on the city, sightseeing brochures, coupons, etc. Docks were clean, I saw them being swept/washed in the morning. We had a great view of the bridge at night, and with the water so calm, you could see the reflection mirrored in the water. Food options nearby: 1) 7 Seas Brewery with restaurant 3uilt inside 2) Forum (link train to theatre district) 3) The Swiss - bar/pub food Heads up: you're near the train tracks, so you'll hear trains going by or as hubs likes to say "fake train noises". read more

If you're boating in the Puget Sound this marina is a MUST VISIT! They have absolutely lovely facilities, a charming staff and a great location. We've visited this marina three times and it's become a fast favorite of ours. The dock includes power, water and cable hook ups. It's a well maintained concrete dock with clean showers and restrooms right at the top. The facilities have been consistently clean each of our visits. The staff at this dock always exceeds our expectations. Our favorite staff member is Nick. He is absolutely a ray of sunshine and always so willing to go above and beyond for the people who Moore there. As soon as you arrive, you can count on smiley Nick coming to catch your lines, hook up your water and electricity, take your garbage or pump your sewage. On Sunday, Nick will come by in the morning to deliver a newspaper, bring you ice and take your trash. The location is absolutely wonderful. It's immediately located outside the Museum of Glass - if you cross the bridge you'll get into the area of Down Town Tacoma with University of Washington Tacoma, complete with a variety of shops and restaurants. We love going En Rama for cocktails while visiting, which is about a 3/4 mile walk but there are so many other choices there as well as a lovely marina side walking trail. They also have a precious market on the weekends right across the bridge. It also has a dog area at the top of the ramp for bringing along your best friend. In conclusion, we will absolutely be back, we look forward to trying other restaurants in the area, seeing Nick and enjoying the community. read more

I am not in the habit of writing reviews, but honestly don't know how the 5 star reviews were earned. We had a terrible time here. 1. They must have gotten our reservation confused with someone else's. We have a single screw 32' boat. We were squeezed between 2 boats on the linear dock, which we discovered was actually meant for a 28 ft! Needless to say there could have been an accident right there! Then, they had us for only 2 nights instead of the 3 we originally requested. 2. There are only 2 unisex shower and toilet rooms for the marina. The door WOULD NOT STAY LOCKED on one of them!! We complained, and was assured that the lock was fixed, but it happened again!! 3. No WIFI. This is in a major city. No, we didn't ask ahead of time but just assumed that WIFI would be available. We were looking forward to spending a few days in Tacoma and managed to make the best of it, but we will not be returning to this marina! read more

Loved how they have a kayak for two adults and room for my 5 yr old in between! Singles can fit a small booster attachment for little ones to sit in front of you, cozy though. I wish they had kayaks that has the foot steering for the rear, this would help with less zigzagging across the water. To the lady who replied a month ago, Joyce. I am very sorry you did not enjoy your stay. Your reservation that you took (with me) was only for two nights, and I can assure you of that. Plus, it would also help to inform of the real LOA of the vessel instead of the make. If all three boats did that instead of say differently, then all could have been avoided. As for the lock, it was addressed and fixed that day. It was malfunctioning, that is definitely true and I am very sorry for any embarrassment that it caused. I do not know how many times I went to you that weekend and apologized for everything and tried to make amends. I am sorry we did not meet your expectations. I have to tell you that our experience at the Dock Street Marina was FaBuLoUs!!!! Matt was amazing and the on-site services were phenomenal!!! We will definitely be back with a bigger group. Although we ended up with a smaller group due to people's ubiquitous work schedules, we had a blast. There was nothing the marina didn't provide in a timely, expeditious manner. They were the total BOMB! Despite the fact that you have no WiFi, every aspect was excellent! No complaints whatsoever! read more

We just had a birthday party of 8 teenage girls use their services for paddleboards and kayaks. They couldn't have been more accommodating. They were fast, professional and made the whole experience FUN. This is the 2nd time we have been there and both times it went without any issues. read more

We've moored at Dock Street Marina a few times in the last few years and really enjoy it. Each slip has power and water, a morning newspaper is delivered to your boat, and the staff keeps everything neat and clean. There are nice clean restrooms with showers too. We had 9 boats from our yacht club enjoy two nights at Dock Street. The staff was there to assist in our docking and welcome us with a smile. The facility is super clean and friendly with many local amenities to enjoy from museums to shopping and many restaurants within walking distance. Many of our first time boaters to Dock Street are ready to return the next time they come down this way. I also appreciated the laundry facility - one washer and one dryer in excellent condition, $1 for each. At check in we received a shopping bag with coupons and brochures for the local area. Clean, friendly and more than accomodating. The staff did daily ice runs, provided pump out service while docked, picked up our garbage from the boat and delivered the Sunday morning paper. The moorage was very reasonably priced too. Great place for a Yacht Club function or to hang out for a few days and explore Tacoma. read more
