Before an early morning snorkeling trip, we needed to "load up" and this place most certainly fit the bill. The coffee started flowing and we placed our typical "family share" meal order. Another pro tip: always check-in (on Yelp) wherever you go as doing so here scored me an instant 10% off coupon! We tried a few of their more popular dishes...the hashbrown casserole (really a side dish, not a main), The Champ and the girls shared pancakes. The hashbrown casserole was creamy and filling with shredded potatoes, cheese, sour cream all broiled in the oven...this is the stuff of food-coma legend! The Champ is a skillet concoction filled with corned beef, hashbrowns, American cheese and topped with eggs. This thing was enormous and easily shareable. As we dug in it turned into a gooey, delicious mess (especially once we broke the over-easy eggs). The girls loved the thick, fluffy pancakes topped with banana slices, shredded coconut and walnuts...a fairly "tropical" delight! Service was fast, efficient and friendly. As many of you know my reviews are honest and this will be no exception. I would avoid this diner by all means. My wife and I went to breakfast here and won't be going back. She ordered the biscuit and gravy. I ordered a lunch item (all hour menu). The gravy was horrible and had a strange taste and was runny. The sausage in the gravy was just cut up pieces of a patty. My fries were microwaved and definitely not fresh. You'd think Id get fresh fries at 8am. The sandwich was just ok and that's a stretch. The staff completely ignored us after we got our food. If your looking for home cooked style southern breakfast. This is the place. There were so many delicious looking options, it was hard decide what to order. I knew I wanted sausage gravy so I narrowed it down to a few options and went with the hash-brown skillet. Food came out pretty quick and was hot and plentiful. The gravy was good but didn't have much sausage in it and the hash-browns weren't super flavorful. Service was great, so we will stop by again if we are in the area. read more

We stopped here on the way back from Key West. Traffic was bumper-to-bumper with mini-vans and trucks pulling boats while we starved and passed up several spots because they were either chains or were on the wrong side of the road. Finally, we saw Wendy's and gave in. I pulled out the Yelp ap and walked in to a humongous line and looked for anything else nearby...and found this little gem! As luck would have it, we found them about 20 minutes before they closed but the staff was business as usual so I never felt rushed! Awesome! I asked our waitress for a recommendation and so did my gf. I got the philly and she got the corned beef. We both enjoyed our meals and the serving size was plentiful. I've never had such tasteless food before. I ordered scrambled eggs, bacon, biscuit and French toast. The biscuit was so crumbling it was hard to eat. The eggs didn't have any flavor (for reference, I make scrambled eggs every day and only put water and cook in oil and have more flavor than this). French toast is my absolute favorite and this French toast was plain right gross. It was Soggy and also flavorless. And I ordered a tea and never got it. Do not go here, at least for breakfast. This diner is a true hidden gem. My partner and I were looking for a good spot to have breakfast and Docs Diner was walking distance from our hotel. There was a bit of a crowd but the wait to be seated was no more than 10 mins. The hostess and waitress were amazing. Friendly and made sure we were taken care of. Choosing something to eat was so hard because everything sounded so delicious. But I settled with the Waffle Combo which included eggs, 2 bacon, and 2 sausage. Or the option of a ham steak or Turkey bacon. I got ham steak with my meal. (It was a little dry but good nonetheless.) My partner order their Flaglers Trainwreck (a huge omelet with mushrooms, bell peppers, sausage, cheddar cheese), hashbrown, and rye toast. I loved the way they made their eggs. We also had coffee to drink. In total is was about $23. With 20% tip it was $27 and some change. We fell in love. This place was filled with couples and families. The atmosphere was super chill and inviting. I'd definitely make the drive to come here again. read more

Came here first thing in the morning on my Key Largo trip. Food seems relatively inexpensive, and okay quality too. The menu serves typical diner style breakfast: hash brown skillets, pancakes, eggs, etc., in addition to some local seafood. I helped myself to the GBS (Great Breakfast Skillet), which comes with the home fries on the bottom and cheese and two poached eggs on the top, in addition to your choice of 3 veggie or meat toppings. I went with the sausage, tomatoes, and mushrooms for mine. The food arrived promptly. One of my friends at the table noted that his hash browns were soggy, and wanted a new side of it. The server however rudely dealt with the situation and made some harsh comments, which I thought was unnecessary (I forgot her name). Other than that incident, my experiences here was fine. The eggs were cooked perfectly, and the home fries too were slightly soggy. The sausage tasted like what you'd get on a slice of pizza, lacking flavor and tasted just like ground beef. Hot sauce seemed to do the trick to add enough flavor. I just wished that the server would treat complications a little better, and maybe this was just a chance encounter. read more
