As a life long "conch" and part-time keys resident I have dined at just about every restaurant in the Florida keys and I am here to state that Flagler Station is now one of my favorites places to dine in Islamorada. The ambiance, decor, view, parking, service, cocktails, food, and just about everything else is simply amazing. The cocktails are keys perfect, the Flagler's Crab Cake ($28) is a pan seared jumbo lump crab in a diled beurre blanc appetizer is probably the best I have ever had, the bread is fantastic. The house special "Chateaubriand for two" ($140) is a 22 oz beef tenderloin grilled over our open flame, forest vegetables and mashed potatoes is sliced tableside and as good as any steak I have every had. Even the butterscotch bread pudding ($14) is as good as Gordan Ramsay's version. Don't hesitate to go here....and I am sure it will get crowded in season, so reservations will probably be needed. Of course the locals will sit at the bar, but that is out secret. read more

The restaurant's stunning décor captures the charm and elegance of old Florida, creating a beautiful atmosphere from the moment you walk in. For dinner, we ordered the Chateaubriand for Two along with the crab cake, and both were absolutely delicious. The flavors were rich, perfectly prepared, and truly memorable. Great water views, attentive and friendly staff with a top notch atmosphere. Food is of high quality. We had the wood grilled tuna steak, filet mignon and asparagus. Everything was fresh and delicious. We had a lovely evening, overall. I highly recommend Flagler Station, but do ask to sit by the windows as you'll be overlooking the ocean. Stopped into this restaurant based on high ratings and good reviews in Islamorada. Walked in and noticed the place was jampacked full and asked if there was anyway I could get a table for two. The hostess told me that they were booked if I did not have a reservation. At that point the manager came over a gentleman named Evan and stated that they were extremely full and he apologized but he would check and see if they had one empty table that we could take for two. Sure enough he hooked us up and we were seated. I had the fresh catch of the day which was red snapper with octopus salad on top and a cannelloni bean purée which seems like hummus to me. Really good and different. Next was the filet mignon which was exceptional. We got the mashed potatoes which were also good and for dessert the crown jewel was a crème brûlée that had some type of a citrus undertone and a smoky crust on top that I had never had before and mind you I have had crème brûlée at many places in France and this was better. The same manager Evan came by to ask how everything was and and seemed a little disappointed we did not order the bread pudding but it was too late. Later a server came by and attempted to put a bread putting down on our table and we told him we ordered the crème brûlée. He looked at us and laughed and I said is the bread pudding better and he goes it's not even close.. so word to the wise if you come here I guess I would try both the crème brûlée and the bread pudding. Next time I come I will definitely try the bread pudding since we did not get it. It appears to be some type of special of the house. Also of note we ordered a bottle of Prosecco which they wound up being out of and they gave us a higher priced bottle of champagne and honored the price of the Prosecco which was very kind of them. If I had one criticism it would be of the Caesar salad which was a little plain and not enough dressing but it was still good just not great. Ambience was really nice and it's definitely a higher priced restaurant so go in and plan on breaking out the credit card. I will definitely be back and definitely try the bread pudding next time. Couldn't praise this restaurant more and the staff and manager for being a gentleman. read more

Ambiance is better than the food. The best thing they had was a Moonpie cheesecake and they removed it. So now the best thing is the French onion soup. The steaks have wayyyyyy too much butter. Kid options are insufficient. Mashed potatoes are good. French fries with mustard are good. The crab is ok. The desserts that are offered are all low quality. Bring back the Moonpie! omg - been to this restaurant multiple times which was perfection. food, drinks, setting and ambiance. tonite we took our 90 yr old father for dinner. it was so off point. steak was tough and temperatures off. 2/2 wines on menu not available. server so great. mgr evan pretends to be wonderful pretending to care. had a conversation w him/ appears to be genuine and then handles it 150% wrong - didnt adjust bill. we dont look for that but take something off. if you go through my reviews, you could see all of the positive reviews I post-that's my pleasure... when I let him know how I felt on the way out, he escorted us out in front of my dad and was outrageous and told us not to come back. great job! I think you got a little big for your britches Evan! The fact of the steaks not being the way that we had experienced in the past or expected is totally understandable... The wines not having the wines on the menu and pushing beringer is silly, but according to him, if you understand the wine industry, you know that wines are not readily available? but the need to be right after telling him not to do this in front of my father on the way out and insisting to do this is completely unacceptable. Don't worry, we have no reason to return, but you need to check yourself! it's such a pity because we happen to have loved the restaurant and it was totally fixable aside from his behavior this evening. Apparently his mom has a long running history with whales harbor which hes proud of and beautiful and he makes a great impression initially but underneath... no bueno! You need to understand how to mature and grow from this experience and the restaurant needs to be aware and understand to have a manager that does not react in such a manner. read more

New addition to Islamorada waterfront steakhouse. It's nice to have another option for fine dining. The restaurant is beautifully decorated. Their menu features wood fired steaks and fresh seafood. As an appetizer we had the crab cakes which I must say is one of the best I've had in a long time. There's hardly any breading so the star of the show is the crab. Delicious chunks of crab served with a Beurre Blanc Sauce. For entree we had the Veal Chop, Lobster Mac and Cheese with a side of their Beef Tallow Fries. The Veal Chop was amazing. Mac and cheese and fries were subpar though, hence the 4 stars. Luckily the dessert made up for it. We had their Moon Pie Cheesecake which was phenomenal. Definitely will be returning. read more

Beautiful restaurant. They did an amazing job with the decor. The food was average at best Filet came overdone and no flavor except it was salty !! Our waiter raved about the pomme frittes which we were Disappointed in as well A bit greasy The star of the night was the butterscotch bread pudding which was amazing !! The staff was nice. We just went back for a pre Thanksgiving dinner and once again it did not disappoint. There were a few changes to the menu which was not a problem. They took away the churro dessert (please chef bring it back) but they did create an amazing chocolate dessert. We also requested Chris as our waiter again and again he was stellar!!!! read more

A few things... first off, the interior design was super cool. It literally looks like a train car in the main dining room but with a beautiful view of the beach. The service was excellent. We felt well tended to and even had service from what we assumed was the manager helping out. I had a bleu cheese dirty martini which was extremely well balanced and a delicious start to the following courses. My favorite dish was the lobster bisque, which I feel like I did not have super high standards for and yet I was extremely surprised at the flavor and the amount of lobster in the soup. It rocked. I also had the Alaskan king crab that in and of itself is always good. I split the butterscotch bread pudding with my partner for dessert and it was top tier. All in all, I recommend Flagler Station for a high end dining experience In Islamorada. Will be returning next time. read more

We booked a seat in the train car - loved it! Our waiter Chris was attentive and informative, making sure that every detail of the meal was perfect. We brought friends who were more than impressed with the food, the ambiance, the staff, and the overall feel of Flagler Station. We had the lobster bisque, crab, wedge salad, beet salad (the best our friend has ever eaten!) steak, and the new veal parm - bone in! Wine and cocktail selection is top notch. Drinks and service were amazing. We had several drinks, stone crab claws (3) and when the bill came it was $109 for just the crab claws. You can get crab claws anywhere for far less. In fact the guy behind the bar said 5 miles North you can get them for $3.50 each. We paid over $35 each. Shameful we were not told as we up graded from a different appetizer to this one with no one saying the price would be over 4x the amount of the regular ones. This was our first time dining at Flagler Station. We have been wanting to try it since they opened. We give them five stars! We sat at the bar prior to dinner and enjoyed talking with Ashlee who was extremely attentive and made sure we were enjoying our drinks, which were superb. The atmosphere of the restaurant was very comfortable and inviting. The theme was a true Keys experience with Flagler family memorabilia throughout the restaurant. We were seated in a replica of a rail car which created a semi private experience with beautiful scenery of the ocean outside the large picture windows. The food was outstanding. We had the crab cake and French onion soup as appetizers which were delicious. For our entree we split the Chateaubriand for two. Wow! It was cooked to perfection and enough for 4 people. The attention we received from staff member Jenniba was beyond amazing. She made sure we had everything we needed and that we were happy with our choices. She kept checking on us to make sure we didn't need anything. She even sent us home with our leftovers and extra bread to enjoy at home. After a very disappointing evening at Kindler last week, we were wary of trying a new high end restaurant in the Keys. I heard that Flagler Station in Islamorada was very good and decided to try it. Four of us went and what a difference. The service was excellent. Evan greeted us and we were escorted to our table. The ribeye and New York Strip were cooked to perfection. The salads and side dishes were very generous portions. The wine we had picked out from their extensive wine list was delicious. Our meal was capped off with a delicious butterscotch bread pudding with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. The only criticism was the plain Jane Bloody Mary served with a lime. All in all we had a most enjoyable evening and we will definitely return soon. read more
