I can definitely say it was this meeting that saved his life. Dr. Uomoto is now his primary care physician and has been seeing him on a regular basis along with Dr. David Kattan. Together they have kept a close eye on him to make he remains in good health. Fast forward to today, Six years later once again we are here at the 8700 Beverly Blvd Location. Once again we are under wonderful and expert care. Our Journey started at the ER and eventually worked it's way through a few rooms. Eventually after full admission we ended up on the 3rd floor. Along the way there were so many individuals along the way that made me feel heard, acknowledged and like we really matter. I gave my word that I would fill out a survey and I intend on keeping that promise. A special shout out goes to Stormi. We picked up right where we Left off six years ago and she remains a safe space to express my self and ask questions. Deandre, CP - your kindness and sense of humor is well known amongst your colleagues. Isabella D, IA & Luis Diaz, IA - You were both kind and gentle. Taking great care along the way to move the patient smoothly and safely. Special Shout out to Anthony Mc, RN - You were the first face that we meet after arriving at ER. You took immediate action to determine the severity of the situation and moved with a professionalism, courtesy and compassion that immediately assured me that we were in good hands. Heather, RN, Pink Area Lead - You were rightfully placed as the lead for this area and it was a pleasure to see your smiling face and problem solving tenacity. Jesse, Pink Area - You Sir are the man. A soon as that help light went on you were on it like white on rice. Always with a smile and a kind gentle nature. Wendy Ramirez, RN, Pink Area - From the moment you introduced yourself to each time you came by to do your rounds, your infectious smile and happy demeanor was both welcome and contagious. Special shout out to Aimee Buhat, CP - You will definitely be missed. You answered questions, brought needed items. Brett Tramont 3SW - you Sir did a wonderful job. We arrived at 5 a.m. for his outpatient surgery, and from the moment we walked in they checked us in right away, took us to the room, and started preparing my son. He was very scared, but every single RN, anesthesiologist, and doctor was incredibly kind. They took the time to talk to both of us, explain the process, comfort him, and even held his hand to help him feel safe. The recovery took about an hour and 30 minutes, and during that whole time the staff kept checking on us and asking if we needed anything. It really meant a lot to see how much they cared. I'm truly grateful for the compassion, patience, and professionalism everyone showed that morning. Thank you to all of you who were there and took such good care of my son. I was the only person in the waiting area, but the receptionist wouldn't finish processing me until my doctor contacted her with some number she needed for sending him the x-ray results. After waiting an hour I finally left because I didn't know if or when the doctor's office would ever call her back. The reason for the one star: the receptionist in the x-ray waiting room was coughing and not wearing a mask. Sure enough, I woke up the next morning with a dry cough and have been coughing all weekend. You would think that a hospital employee would know to wear a mask if she is sick.

Was brought here by a friend immediately on Friday night and had surgery Saturday morning to get a titanium rod and screws. The nursing staff was excellent, and my surgeon Dr. Shah was super cool and did a phenomenal job. From Friday to Monday, they did everything possible to keep me comfortable. TBH I'm shocked this place only has 3 stars... it's a great hospital with an even better staff. And yes they have a reputation for food and it's actually pretty good, however it's a bit bland for patients, way better as a visitor. Anyways, highly recommend them. Will not return LOL

During my delivery, Dr. Edward Merchant allowed my due date to lapse significantly. On the day of delivery, I was ignored for hours following the departure of the head nurse. Despite my deteriorating condition, Dr. Merchant refused to intervene and went to sleep in the physician's rest area. A code was eventually called when my blood pressure dropped dangerously low. My previous physician, who was on call, had to intervene to perform a crash emergency C-section. Furthermore, Dr. Merchant falsified my medical records by documenting the event as a "normal uneventful delivery." It was an emergency crash C-section as confirmed by the nurses to me the following day. In a subsequent emergency room visit for a severe allergic reaction, I was dismissed by the triage nurse, Maryann Magdaleno, RN, and sent back to a filthy, crowded waiting room for hours. I eventually went home and was called back at 3:00 AM, at which point my blood pressure was 60/0. While my chart indicates I was seen by a Dr. Stinnett, I never saw a physician during that visit. Despite reporting these incidents to the appropriate oversight agencies and the BRN, I have not received a satisfactory resolution. The hospital has continued to stonewall requests for information regarding staffing schedules and this particular nurse on call that night. I am formally expressing my concerns regarding the unethical and unprofessional conduct I recently experienced from Huntington Hospital medical staff. This behavior compromised my safety and fell well below the expected medical standards for their scope of practice. It is essential that the personnel involved are held accountable for these actions to ensure that future patients do not encounter the same lack of care and professionalism. I trust that you will take the necessary steps to address this matter. These experiences were devastating, and I cannot recommend Huntington Hospital to anyone seeking safe or professional medical care.

The bad news: I went in at 8:45am did not receive any real treatment except and IV until around 2pm. I didn't get out and complete everything until after 4pm. Spent nearly an entire work shift just to get seen and checked. They are extremely understaffed and overbooked with walk ins. They need more CT scan rooms, and nurses willing to see patients. At the end of the day, I was treated, but I did not feel cared for and did not feel like I was important. Of course, there are other patients and we all want to be prioritized but the issue is they receive more patients than they can handle and it does not seem to matter to them at all. You will get treated, just expect to waste a lot of time.

WORST HOSPITAL EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD…read more I recently underwent eardrum surgery with one of the top surgeons in Los Angeles who, unfortunately, performs surgeries at the surgery center connected to this hospital. Due to a reaction to the anesthesia, I unexpectedly needed to stay overnight following the procedure. What should have been a quiet recovery experience was anything but. Throughout the evening, a patient in the room next to me was repeatedly screaming due to what appeared to be severe distress, and a patient across the hall was loudly making threatening statements toward staff, saying she was going to kill them. As someone recovering from surgery, exhausted and vulnerable, the environment felt incredibly stressful and unsettling. Every time I needed to use the restroom I had to call for assistance. If I attempted to get up independently due to them taking too long, an alarm would sound continuously until staff arrived. Combined with the overall environment, this made an already difficult recovery feel overwhelming. When I asked staff whether there was a quieter recovery area available for post-surgical patients, I was told that patients are assigned based on room availability. Due to there being a known park across the street filled with drug addicts, this is where they come for drug overdoses is what was explained. I fully understand that hospitals care for all types of patients and emergencies, and I have tremendous respect for healthcare workers. Following surgery, patients need rest, a sense of safety, and the ability to recover in peace. Had I known what the overnight environment would be like, I honestly would have preferred recovering at home. Very terrifying experience.

1 Star - Absolutely Do Not Go to San Gabriel Medical Center…read moreI am still in shock and disgust over the treatment my mother received at San Gabriel Medical Center today. What should have been basic, competent medical care turned into one of the most neglectful, cold, and unprofessional experiences I have ever witnessed in a hospital. My mother was admitted at 7:30 this morning. It is now after 6:00 in the evening -- nearly eleven full hours later -- and not a single doctor has come to see her. Not one. She has been sitting in that room all day with no physician visit, no real explanation, and no clear plan. The only doctor contact she had was the ER doctor who, at approximately 8:20 a.m., casually told her she may have colon cancer and then walked away. That is not an exaggeration. He dropped that devastating possibility on her and then disappeared. No follow-up. No further discussion. No specialist. No attending physician. Just left her there to sit with those words hanging over her head for the rest of the day while the hospital "admitted" her and then essentially abandoned her. Admitted her to what, exactly? A holding pattern? A forgotten room? Because that is what it felt like. Staff came and went for the bare minimum tasks, but there was zero sense of urgency, zero communication, and zero accountability. When you tell a patient -- especially an older patient -- that they may have cancer and then leave them alone for hours with no doctor coming to examine them, explain the next steps, order appropriate tests, or even check on their emotional state, that is not medicine. That is negligence wrapped in a hospital gown. The anxiety and fear this caused my mother is something I will not forget. She has been sitting there for hours processing the possibility of cancer with no doctor available to answer questions, calm her, or give any actual medical guidance. That is cruel. It is unprofessional. And it is completely unacceptable for any medical facility that claims to care for patients. I would strongly, strongly recommend that no one take their family members to San Gabriel Medical Center if they can possibly avoid it. The level of disregard shown today was appalling. If this is how they treat an admitted patient after delivering potentially life-altering news, I have zero confidence in their ability to provide proper care. My mother deserved better. Every patient deserves better. This place failed her today in a way that is hard to put into words.

My review is specifically for the ER department…read more I truly try to be understanding because I know hospitals are understaffed, overwhelmed, and the staff deals with difficult situations every day. I've always remained polite and patient during my visits. But after multiple experiences here, I honestly feel like something needs to be said. Every single time I've come to this ER, the wait has been excessive -- usually 7+ hours just to be seen or placed in a room, followed by several more hours waiting for updates or care once inside. I understand emergencies happen and patients are prioritized by severity, but the overall experience feels extremely disorganized and lacking compassion. The waiting room is consistently dirty and overcrowded, with visibly sick people sitting for hours without updates. What bothered me most, though, was the attitude from some of the staff at the front desk. Patients and family members asking simple questions are often spoken to like they're inconveniencing the staff just for needing help or clarification. During my most recent visit, I spent nearly 10 hours there before eventually deciding to decline admission and go home. I was placed in a room without a pillow or blanket and asked three separate times for a blanket, but was ignored each time. No one expects perfection, especially in a busy ER. But basic compassion, communication, and respect should still exist. People come to the emergency room scared, sick, in pain, and vulnerable. The way patients are treated matters just as much as the medical care itself. I genuinely hope this department improves, because no patient should leave feeling dismissed, ignored, or like they were a burden for simply needing medical help.
