    Requested to find source of mice in my gas fireplace. Ethan was sent to investigate the issue…read more None was found in the fireplaces which he cleaned and plugged an opening in a vent. He went on to check every room in my house for openings and found none. The outside vent was secured with a metal mesh to catch any unwanted animals from entering. He also went upstairs to my attic and found nothing there. The source of the occasional mice visitor is still a mystery but I feel so much better and recommend GARDEN STATE CHIMNEY highly. Dan will help you solve your chimney or fireplace issue with a smile. You will feel like you made a new friend. Dan has gone out of his way, on multiple occasions, to help me with my fireplace. His kindness is unmatched. In the past, he has made videos to help me light my pilot light. Today, he coached me through a fireplace issue, and when I couldn't get it to work, he called me and said he was in my neighborhood. He remembered that I am a teacher and might have the day off, and said he could come by to help. He was at my door in 20 minutes and refused to charge me for the visit. Dan runs his business professionally but with an extra dose of humanity and kindness. I cannot recommend Dan and Garden State Chimney enough.

The turn around time was super fast, and we ended up having the doors installed within a few weeks, just in time for a big blizzard. The install was quick an professional and they ended up identifying some safety issues with our chimney (not a chimney scam - they told us to contact whatever reputable mason we usually deal with, which we did, and he confirmed what they told us). I am going into month 3 of having a nonfunctioning, unuseable outdoor kitchen which still remains a half built shell on my back deck because Sal sold me a damaged, subpar outdoor kitchen which he refuses to provide any level of customer service! This business owner cares about one thing and one thing only... HIMSELF! He does not care what happens to you after your check or credit card clears! As seen in the attached image, Sal from NYC fireplaces has revoked even the smallest simplest gesture of customer service since I wrote a negative review! This man thinks his word is all that matters in this world and does not believe that actions speak louder than words! Another tit for tat expectation from a shotty self centered looser of a business owner! RUN RUN RUN from this company! Go to absolutely anyone else! This man is a thief. This man is a corrupt business owner. My credit card company says numerous people have opened claims against this man! Even the OEM manufacturer of the kitchen island has said they will be refusing to allow this man to represent their company moving forward! Do not fall for all his positive reviews! They are admitted friends who he has leveraged to boost his scores!

They had the best price I could find online which is why I went with them. A few days after the order I realized I had made a mistake - I ordered a dual fuel wood/natural gas oven, when I actually needed dual fuel wood/propane. I called and spoke to Luca who immediately made the change in their system. The oven was delivered the next day and the delivery person was extremely courteous and helpful. Again, I made another mistake. I forgot to order the stand to put the pizza oven on. I called Luca again and he took payment for the stand and offered to waive the FedEx costs since I paid for assembly initially. That would have been great customer service already, but to go a step further, Luca called me back and said they would put it on a truck and deliver it that same day. Such a great experience!

    So I'm going to give this place mixed reviews for a variety of reasons. In reality its 2.5 out of…read more5 stars but I can only give 2 or 3 and since 3 is rated "A-OK" I will say its basically "ok". Read below for the details if interested. Nothing shady about this place, etc. from what I can tell.... but basically what it comes down to is bad (not poor) customer service that needs improvement. They did however deliver a quality product. My experience: Recently used them for a fireplace gas cleaning. It took multiple attempts to reach their customer service department who, frankly, wasnt very efficient in responding to my call, but was very quick to just book the service and provide details of what is involved in regular maintenance. I was at least pleased to get the impression they knew what they were doing and maybe the individual scheduling appointments was just having a hectic / busy day. At service, the technician arrived, cleaned the fireplace, and in general, did a very nice job. Thumbs up. However after he left (which was probably a little too quickly to try and run out the door before ensuring it fully works), we noticed a problem in that something electrical went wrong that had never happenned before (because our power had gone out and a circuit blew). We called to address the issue and it "needed to be discussed" before they would talk to us about it, The resolution was to send the technician back out. I however did not like the fact that we were initially dealing with a sales men who tried to blame us for doing something wrong when we were just calling for a regular maintenace checkup and after the checkup the fireplace didnt work (whereas it worked perfectly fine prior to the servicing). We should have been dealing with the service department, store manager, etc. Technician came back out, was once again very professional, looked things over and concluded there was definitely something wrong electrically but he wasnt sure what and that an electrician would have to review it. So back to calling the home office. After some more debate, they agreed to send an electrician out to review. Electrician did an excellent job, figured out that something went wrong (clearly after the maintenace but didnt say why/how), and promptly fixed it. Thumbs up to the electrician. However then they tried to charge us for the service after having previously agreed that they wouldn't unless major work was needed. In the end though they held to their end of the bargain... just it wasnt a very pleasant experience... but we do realize that sometimes mistakes happen and hopefully that was just the case in the first technician doing something accidentally that caused a problem. At least now everything works and is back to normal. Its unfortunate they had to make 3 service calls but because they did (and despite the bad customer service), next time we have a problem or require service I will still give them an opportunity to earn more of our business. This could work out for them in the end anyway because we are considering changing the fireplace mantle, stone, etc. and I really know of no other place to go than East Coast.
