If you are looking for quality work, done in a timely manner, at a very fair price then Mark is your guy! His quotes for labor only and labor/materials/moving furniture beat the other 5 companies I brought out and the experience was night and day in comparison to other companies I have dealt with in the past. Mark is easy easy to get on the phone, his team is amazing, and despite me delaying the start by several months they were still ready to going as soon as I pulled the trigger. As with any other project price is always a consideration and without going into specific numbers I can say that by having Flooring Friend handle everything from ordering materials, moving a couple heavier pieces of furniture, and installing my LVP my savings was considerable for the quality of work and product they put in. The 20 mil panels I was considering from Floor and Decor would have cost me just under double what Mark quoted me for the same, if not lower, quality product. The price was not the only factor in my decision to contract his company but now that it is completed I've got a nice chunk of extra change to put towards bringing them back to renovate the first floor. Initially we had expected somewhere in the 3-4 day range for completion of the install but knowing that me and my large dog were staying elsewhere the team put in the extra hours and I was able to get back in the house the evening of the second day. During the actual project I interacted with his team on a few occasion and they were great, making sure to show me their updated progress to make sure that I was satisfied before they moved on to the next area. When we did our final walkthrough they went above and beyond by helping my move a couple pieces of furniture back into place so I didn't have throw them on a dolly and struggle with them myself. All of the cutting and prep was done in my garage and on my driveway so I was expecting to come home with a ton of dust to clean out of my pavers and garage but instead it had all been taken care of before the final walkthrough. Even inside the house I was hard pressed to find anything that wasn't tidy enough to be cleaned with a wipe of a towel or a quick sweep, I even cancelled my maid because there was virtually no dust anywhere in the house. I highly recommend that you call Mark if you are looking to have some work done on your home and don't want to deal with the headaches that come with so many other companies out there. They were such a pleasure to deal with that I already have Mark coming back out to check out the next project in the townhouse! He's a stand up guy, does not skimp when it comes to sending the right team for the job, and makes sure to stop by the site each day to update you on the progress.

I would say this is the worst contractor I've ever hired, but it turns out that neither Mark Holick…read morenor Flooring Friend are state licensed. So he's not really a contractor, you see. He's more of a flooring enthusiast. The job: Install 1,683 sq. ft of vinyl flooring. Measurements were taken by owner Mark Holick. All materials were purchased by me. Job estimate from owner Mark Holick was two days. Installation cost was $5,000. Preparation: All furniture was secured in the garage for the duration of installation. Monday, commencement of work: The crew showed up and seemed gleeful to hear that the house was a vacant rental, and would remain so for the duration of the installation. A $2,000 deposit was paid. Tuesday night, site visit: We found the job about 1/3 done, a table saw set up in the kitchen and the entire house blanketed in dust. Our own tools from the garage were scattered throughout the house and being utilized in the installation. There were piles of lunch trash on the patio, including empty beer bottles. Owner Mark Holick was notified of the transgressions, but assured us that they would clean up once the job was complete. Wednesday night, "job complete": Mark Holick informed us that the job was done and he would arrange to collect payment the following day. He ran out of materials, so he claimed all was done but a single room. Thursday morning: We showed up to the property to find the house covered in a thick layer of sawdust from one end to the other. Furniture stowed in the garage was not spared, indicating they left the garage open while inflicting their damage. Tools (including mine) were lying around uncollected. Appliances were strewn about, disconnected. THREE rooms were incomplete. About 20% of baseboards were installed. Badly. No transitions had been installed. Dishes from the cabinet were soiled and on the patio. Screens were ripped. Garbage was thrown about. We contacted Mark Holick, who said he couldn't show up until late afternoon. Thursday afternoon, 4:00: Mark Hollick shows up and begins to help with cleaning for about 2 hours. Some of the crew became irate because they didn't want to be working so late, so baseboard was angrily installed. Friday: We lose our weekend rental income because of the state of the house. After we set conditions for his return, Mark Holick became incensed, claiming he didn't need our tools, but to give him a bill for their rental. Also said he would pay for the stolen contents of the refrigerator, and volunteered to replace the plugged AC filter in the most exasperated manner possible. So we fired him and gave the balance of the job to a licensed and qualified flooring installer instead. Mark didn't like the names we called him. He was very hurt that we called into question his upbringing and who his mother was. He insisted he was licensed federally! He was so sad about all this that he sued us. As I have a lot of difficulty with colors, he kindly came to my home and assisted me in my selection. Then, contracted with independent installers who completed the job in a professional workmen like manner which was later inspected by one of the installers supervisors and then again by the representative of Miami Carpet and Tile who had sold me the tile. In all, I was very pleased with my purchase, the assistance that they gave to me and with their overall performance. In later discussing my completed project and in reviewing the work others had had performed by other tile providers, it became evident to me that I was lucky I had had done business with Miami Carpet & Tile rather than those other sources.

Nobody ever came to supervise and by the time they were done, a friend came by to install new baseboards and told me that almost all of the tiles were hollow, Frances the owner came in and offered me two free rooms of carpet and they would fix the high traffic area. I didn't want them to come back and it was right before Christmas. We had a lot of work to do. They didn't even finish the doorways and now a year later the grout is also coming up.
