He stated some are better than the others for durability like Nucore & Durolux and still need to see the different ones that are offered . The one I was choosing was less expensive and happened to match better but when I tried the sample at home it did scratch easily with a flathead(I did as an experiment) as he had previously mentioned. He said not to drag furniture or anything that may scratch it. He said I needed a blue bottom cover for the floor underneath but u are if I actually need it . I decided to head back the next day and exchange the one I had with the one that was more durable to last longer since it would not be warrantied if any scratches were to occur. I also purchased a tool to install it if needed . I wanted to purchase and match a marble piece that I already have in the area going into the other rooms. He took me to the area and we picked a piece out. Additionally, I had the transition piece to match. He loaded the car for me. When I returned the next day it was busier. Another guy assisted me but was told to go to another customer and someone else helped me. He took the ones I purchased out of the car but there was a bit of a delay at the registers when I returned because customers were also returning and purchasing. I will more than likely have someone install it even though I do like to learn DIY .

JZ Star Flooring recently re-tiled my two bathrooms and main house floor. They were prompt, professional, did high quality, detailed work, and were reasonably priced. The owner, Jaime, was patient and communicative, and accurately estimated the project timeframe. I told my friends that Jaime is the "un-contractor" - i.e. he lacks all the bad qualities that most contractors have a reputation for. Jaime's lead installer, Noel, also did a great job; he leveled my very uneven house floor with mortar (over 70 bags!), so that I could have 30' x 30' rectified porcelain tile installed. The end result looks beautiful. I've learned that renovating a house can be stressful. Having someone like Jaime and JZ Star Flooring on my team made the process so much easier. I highly, highly recommend them. read more

I am considering legal actions, license complaints, litigation besides complaints with the government agencies, Governors office, Attorney general office, etc! Deceptive business practices. I have construction experience doing floors, windows, siding, kitchens,bathrooms etc. He gave me a BAIT AND SWITCH low price than after removing the old flooring, he hit me with a about 50% inflated price like deceptive business practices bait and switch scheming to defraud I feel. the new flooring creaks poor installation, etc. Floor has high and low spots like a wave. The workers excessively butchered chopped damage the moldings removing with a pry bar instead of trim removing tool then caulked damages sloppy unappealing work. They didn't use a stair tread gauge just cut and caulking the gaps which now pulling apart. Caulked everything because they didn't use the right tools. Promised a warranty and sent document twice without it and blamed the office. I knew the specific floor from suppliers in stock and I knew the price but he said they don't have it as he wanted to sell me his inflated priced flooring. He aggressively saying that if I didn't pay he was coming over which he did. I offered to pay with a credit card he refused, unless I paid about 5% additional and so he demanded a check on the spot when he gets to my house buzzing the gate several times for payment when I was offering to pay it over the phone with a credit card but he didn't want the credit card fee and I offered to send a check to him but he demanded it immediately. Uneven poor installation, damaged flooring planks, that I was left with tiny pieces in the closet, charged for carpet removal they left in front of house. He told me one brand of underlayment on estimate and switched to cheaper on install (bait and switch again like the price). installed a transition T molding without the metal track Instead they silicone the transition molding down onto the carpet. if I ever carpet removed, it will damage the wood and carpet flooring. This is the worst experience I've ever had dealing with a contractor. workers spoke no English I believe subcontractors maybe daylaborers. I had to use a translator app. Said would return to fix things never did. The floor makes cracking noise from poor installation. Before quoted me a labor price of $2985 and then he hit me with a inflated price of $4556.56 after they ripped up the old flooring on day of install, I feel deceptive business practices. Everything happened exactly how they said it would. They were available anytime we had a question and the work they did was absolutely beautiful, I would recommend this business to anybody who needs a flooring job done. They also sent in a cleaning crew of three people who clean my house afterwards better than it's ever been cleaned before at their expense extremely positive experience.

I rearranged mine and my husband's schedules to be present for his arrival between 11:30am-12pm on 2/7/25. My phone was on silent but my car was in the yard and we were anticipating his arrival. He texted me at 11:31 saying he was here. He attempted to call at 11:38. He did not get out of his car, come in the yard and knock on the door. The office called me 8 minutes after his call (he said he had "been here a while", but it was only 7 minutes). I told her I was here and let her know I was on my front porch looking at his car. I waved at him and hung up with her thinking she would text or call him to look at the porch about 25 feet away. Instead he pulled off. I yelled for him and even went into the street. I then hung up and called him and told him I had been here the whole time and asked him if he would circle the block and return. I also informed him that he should have knocked on the door prior to leaving. He then gave out a VERY AUDIBLE sigh (as if I was bothering him and not a prospective client). I was shocked to say the least. What company employee does this to a prospective client? I then told him if it was a bother then that's ok. He said "ok thanks" and apparently kept going! Wow. This is one of the rudest and laziest interactions I have had with a front facing company employee in some time. I thought management should be aware that this occurred and emailed them so they could consider how their client facing employees communicate with prospective customers. As a business owner myself, I would be appalled. Both of the women who called me were very kind and professional. However, I cannot say the same for Andres. If this is how Mr. Wood treats their customers, I would be afraid to use their service at all. I would also share this experience with my neighbors and friends. Andres also sent me a patronizing text stating "it would he would have appreciated the heads up if I wasn't going to be available. I think I would have appreciated the heads up if he wasn't going to even take the time to get out of the car. Would not recommend.

Nathalia came out to measure the areas to be refinished and provided a formal quote within a few hours. Doctor Flooring was one of the most competitive and also had good availability for turnaround. At the last minute, I also decided to get hardwood installed on the attic floor, that was previously carpeted. Roni and Nathalia came out at short notice to quote and recommended a new sub floor and could do that project before the sanding project downstairs. Roni and team worked the two projects in my house back to back, even on a Saturday. They took care to protect walls and clean up as they went. Nathalia was responsive to all my questions before the work started and during when we temporarily moved out for the sanding project.
