I have been bringing my mom, who is very hard of hearing (Costco hearing aids don't help my mom at all), here for a couple of years. We originally saw Dr. Camacho and she was very honest in her recommendations of hearing aids and did not push one brand over another and didn't try to sell us the most expensive one. She was even able to get us a discounted price for one of the high powered models. My mom had some problems with feedback issues, but Dr. Jensen, who we usually see now, was very helpful and continued to try different settings, ear molds, and small fixes until she got it right. I'm thinking of getting a restraining order! My dad who is 80 years old needed hearing aids so we made an appointment and when we showed up we had to wait 2 hours! We asked the receptionist what was taking so long but she kept sighing 'stop making my job so hard! Just wait another 2 hours!' My dad asked her to repeat herself since he has trouble hearing and she told him to 'Get a hearing aid you old ****'. What?? Why does she think we are here? Super unprofessional and rude! I asked to speak to the manager and then Norma came and told us to sit back down and wait for the audiologist. She then started screaming 'I was voted woman of the year! So you have to listen to me!!' (she wasn't by the way I checked it was Billie Eilish). We finally decided we'd had enough and left, but Norma has been calling us non-stop leaving voicemails telling us we owe her money and we better come back or she would be cancelling our appointment. Um, okay? Please do! We don't want anything to do with you, so leave us alone!! Horrible experience for my 80 year old father who is still very shaken. Have some compassion for the elderly, and have the decency to not harass those who give honest critiques of your poor conduct. I recommend those reading this look elsewhere for business, and also check out the many fawning 'reviews' that didn't pass as genuine reviews at the bottom of this page. I wonder who made those?? This place is absolutely WONDERFUL!! Dr. Norma Camacho is everything I would ever want a doctor to be: compassionate, genuine, friendly, passionate and above all extremely knowledgeable. She tirelessly answers all my questions which is very important to me because I always have a fear of "bothering" a doctor with too many questions or concerns but she welcomes them and gives explanations so thoroughly that I always feel energized and at peace when I leave her office. I started losing my hearing at age 10 but it's been such a gradual process that it was easy to postpone getting hearing aids. They do not take BCBS PPO plans. I *thought* we did an insurance verification because I was told they take my insurance by the receptionist. But it was not specified it would have been out of network coverage. I think there is a law that requires an office to specify that (out of network) but I am not sure. So I was hit with an out of network bill after I had already met my annual deductible and mind you, I have NEVER gone out of network the entire time I've had this plan and always check meticulously. To avoid namely what happened here. BCBS also has their office listed in their system as "lowest cost" in-network provider. It's why I ended up there in the first place. Turns out, the office has not had a contract w BCBS since 2015. Took 1.5h on the phone to figure that out. My insurance is also at fault here and I did file an appeal and was paid out by BCBS for sending me to an out of network provider via their system that clearly needs to be updated. So both the insurance and the office itself let me down here. I give two stars because the audiologist who did my exam was lovely and they did permit me to hold off paying the full bill til I was waiting to hear back from my insurance appeal. Which I won, as said. Last I checked, their office was still listed in the BCBS system but they do not actually have a contract just FYI. Patients deserve more transparency and accurate information from all parties involved. read more

I went for an appointment after dealing with chronic ear infections for a few years. I answered the phone and the receptionist was speaking so quietly and when I asked her to speak louder, she told me to listen better and hung up. RUDE! Afterwards, I made an appointment in person and I was given a date for 2 months later, but it got rescheduled three times. After months of waiting, I was able to meet with the audiologist. The audiologist did little to help my problem and referred me to go to an ENT. Veryyyy helpful advice after 4 months of waiting. I will NEVER step foot in this business again after dealing with their terrible management and lack of professionalism. And I recommend you don't either. read more

This is a long overdue review of Doctors of Hearing in Pasadena. I needed a hearing for my left ear. I found them on Yelp and got a referral from my primary physician. I finally had my hearing test and after a few hiccups and waiting for months, I spoke to Dr. Camacho the owner. She was very apologetic and explained everything clearly. In other words she made sure that my hearing aids would be delivered soon. In the meantime she offered a loaner so I could start getting used to it. They did multiple follows ups with me and sure enough mine arrived and again her office was very helpful in setting me up with my new equipment. Dr. Camacho and the entire staff have been helping me with my hearing aids throughout the pandemic. They are truly service oriented and always ready to assist with my 'old' hearing aids. Note, I did not buy my aids from Doctors of Hearing but they have been my go to office for service and repair for the past 2 years. I also appreciate there persistence in getting assistance from my insurance carrier. In 2022 my current employer finally offered benefits for hearing aids. I've been wearing aids for over 25 years and purchasing these out of pocket. Ouch. The best staff (Charlotte) and Audiologist! So caring and professional. Dr. Battaglia referred my children to Dr. Camacho for custom fit earplugs for swimming a couple of years ago. Dr. Camacho of Doctors of Hearing is the so patient, gentle, and understanding with my kids who are on the spectrum. She is very patient and sweet with them. We had to go back again to get another pair of "swim earplugs" for my daughter. The office continues to be very clean and additionally covid protocols for safety are in place (temperature checks, masks required for patients and staff, etc). The Doctors of Hearing rescued me quickly, competently, and kindly. The office staff was promptly responsive to my situation. The three or four staff members I have encountered have been excellent.
