Something has change in the last year at the organization. The communication is horrible. As an example I wild get a text with one date confirming appointment and then a call the day before to confirm I was going to be at my appointment on a different date. I had my annual hearing checkin in December of 24 and was told I would need new hearing aids. No problem, at least that is what one would think. I get calls in January telling me need to be tested now that insurance had approved the hearing aids. Testing had already been done. I took a month to find out what they meant was I needed to come in to review my choices on hearing aids and measure my ear. This had already been done during my testing in December when I was told I need new ones. They had provided the hearing aids I was using and had all the measurements. They couldn't schedule till mid March to pick the ones I had already picked and take a measurement of my ear. This took all of 5 minutes. Signed the paperwork and told it would be about a month to receive them. I contacted my insurance company to change providers for future appointments reviewed the reasons why with them. They agreed to do so. A couple of weeks later I get a call from an office manager in Glendora (Jackie) upset and argumentative that I had filed a grievance. Confirmed I was still going to pick up the hearing aids when they came which I did. I call in April to find the status and am told I would have to contact the insurance company. They could not tell me more. I called my insurance company today, they got the doctors office on the phone and confirmed the office had canceled the order because of the grievance. The also claimed they were refusing future care because of the grievance, which was something I had already asked for. My insurance company approved starting the entire process again with another doctor 10 minutes from my home instead of 45. So if you have a problem and have any medical devices you have been approved for, wait till you get them before you take any other actions. They will not let you know what they have done when they take a retaliatory action against you. read more

Absolutely awesome! Due to heavy radiation treatment in my head and neck area I suffered intense hearing loss. My insurance covered hearing aids up to a point $$. The first hearing doctore we went to provided some lower end hearing aids that were ok, better than nothing but they didnt last. We went to Doctors of Hearing in Rancho Cucamonga and there service was great! great communication, way better hearing aids and they made me feel like valued patient. They informed me that I was eligable for a new pair every year. During my hearing aid adjustment appointment they took the time to insure I was hearing the best I could with the hearing aids (way better service than I expected) and they follow up with me to make sure everything is working at it's best. I just recieved my 2nd pair from them and I will continue to use this company as my go to Hearing doctor. What a difference it makes when you are dealing with a medical proffesional that trully cares. I will recomend them to anyone I know that needs help hearing. read more

Poorest communication I have ever experienced! Voicemail box is always full, unable to ever reach the office and miss communication when scheduling appointments. An absolute disastrous office. I have been a loyal customer of Doctors of Hearing for over a decade. They have always gone the extra mile every time I needed an adjustment or needed to order new hearing aids and accessories. Dr. Kevin Townsend has always gone above any beyond while assisting me. Recently, I had an issue when I ordered a new set of hearing aids. My insurance carrier offers unlimited hearing aid benefits every three years. The third-party administrator, OPTUM, was arbitrarily limiting my benefits. Drs. Kevin Townsend and Dr. Norma Camacho immediately got involved and advocated on my behalf. After thirty days we were able to force OPTUM to provide the expensive hearing aids that I needed. Throughout the process, Dr. Camacho was in weekly contact with me letting me know how things progressed. Today I received my new hearing aids and accessories. I am more than pleased that I have a trusted partner in Doctors of Hearing. They have earned my trust over the years and this is a prime example of why I would never go elsewhere. read more

My husband and I got fitted for hearing aids in October 2018. I have been wearing hearing aides since 2005. My hubby has been wearing hearing aides 2013. We went to Pacific hearing for our first set of hearing aids. Our hearing aides were a great fit from Pacific hearing. Unfortunately Pacific Hearing wasn't accepting our insurance through Epic in 2018. So we decided to try Doctor's of hearing. We went to our first appointment. Dr. Kevin Townsend was the audiologist that we met with. My husband has the type of hearing aides that go behind his ears. My husband explained to Dr Townsend that he wanted the type of hearing aides that he could use his android Samsung cell phone rather then his old hearing aides where he had to wear a streaming device around his neck to be able use his blue tooth to answer calls on his cell phone. Dr.Townsend suggested a type of hearing side that he wouldn't have to wear the special streamer around his neck he would be able to use his hearing aides through an app on his phone. Dr.Townsend told him the hearing aides he was fitting him with was compatible with his phone to be able to not have to wear a streamer around his neck. Dr Townsend suggest to my hubby what type of hearing aids would work on his android phone. I was fitted with hearing aids that go into my ears. My cell phone is an Apple 7. Dr. Townsend suggested the type of hearing aides that would work with my cell phone. He made a mold of both my ears We returned about two weeks later to pick up our hearing aides. Dr.Townsend shaved my earring aid down for a better fit and I was also able to answer my cell phone through an app on my phone without the bulky streamer around my neck. Dr.Townsend put my hubby's hearing aides on and told him the app to put on his phone so he could answer his cell phone. My phone is an apple. So my hearing aids were different from my hubby's hearing aids. Dr Townsend sent us in our way with our new hearing aides and told us to come back in two weeks to see how well the hearing aides were working and how well the hearing aids fit. My hubby right away got static in his hearing aids while using them. He wasn't able to use the app on his cell.phone so that he could answer his cell phone through the blue tooth. My hearing aides I was able to answer my cell phone using the app on my phone But my hearing aids didn't fit right. So we went back two weeks later and told Dr.Townsend what was going on that my hearing aids weren't fitting right and my hubby was getting static with his hearing aids and the app on his phone wasn't working. Dr.Townsend shaved down my hearing aids and adjusted the sound levels as well. Dr.Townsend then worked with the issues my hubby was having with his hearing aids and the fact that the app wasn't allowing him to answer his cell phone. Dr Townsend called the manufacturer to find out why the app wasn't working on my hubby's phone. It ended up that my hubby had to wear a clip on streamer in order for him to not have to wear the streamer he would have to change from an Android phone to an Apple phone. Dr.Townsend suggested my hubby try the streamer for a couple of weeks and see if that solved the problem. I ended up going back to my old hearing aides because they fit better. My hubby went back to see Dr. Townsend two weeks later and told him the clip-on streamer was falling off and he was still getting a lot of static through his hearing aids. He asked if he could get a different type of hearing aids Dr.Townsend told him no he couldn't make him a new set of hearing aids due to the 2 week trial period running out. The only way for my hubby could get new hearing aids was for him to pay out if his picket at the cost of $6,000 which was money that we didn't have. We both ended up putting our new $6,000 apiece hearing aides in the box and not wearing them and going back to our old hearing aids. We will NEVER DO BUSINESS with Doctors of hearing in Rancho Cucmonga again. We were very unhappy with our experience with Doctors of hearing. We will go back go Pacific Hearing in 2023 when the 5 years comes that our insurance will pay for new hearing aids for each of us. read more

I had to come here for a hearing test for a physical exam for school. I arrived on time for my 11:00AM appointment, even after getting lost. This location was so hard to find because it's located in a business park but it has multiple buildings with multiple suites in each building. There was only one other patient in the waiting room with me while I filled out my paperwork. When I finished, I started waiting. Two other patients walked out of the office while this patient and I sat there waiting. The receptionists were talking about how their lunch hour was coming up, and I felt very awkward, like they were hinting that I should go. The other woman waiting with me was first called in, and finally after waiting about 45 minutes, I was called in. Dr. Townsend did not introduce himself to me, he just stood there and stared at me until I introduced myself. I was done with my hearing test within 5 minutes. I don't really understand why it took so long to call me in when I saw other patients leaving so quickly and they were overstaffed (I saw a lot of workers in scrubs walking around). Additionally, as I was waiting in the waiting room, a man came in and said he called over 10 times and no one picked up so he drove to the office to make an appointment. One of the receptionist told him that it happens "all the time" but she doesn't know why. read more

My mobility handicapped husband has received very good and attentive service at this office of Kevin Townsend. After he lost an aid shortly after buying it, Mr. Townsend negotiated a replacement at a much lower than the advertised replacement cost. Alma in the front office is always friendly and very understanding of my husband's mobility issues. My only negative, is that usually all calls go to voicemail and I have to leave a message for a call back. I do get the callback within a day, however. I appreciate their attentiveness and good service. read more

Dr. Norma Camacho is a very good audiologist. I am so happy with her services and she is very professional. I am a Zumba instructor and my ears are in high risk because I am exposed to the high volume music almost everyday. She was more than happy to give me all the advise that I need. She gladly gave me all the info that I need to know. Always so happy to respond all my questions and my concerns and she recommend me this earplugs to protect my ears and I am so amazed with them. They are really tiny and comfortable. I can choose pink, which is my favorite color but they have a lot of options, they came exactly the time they told me... I work for "Just 4 Me Studio" and almost all the instructors use the earplugs there, I am so happy they are so responsible and take care of their ears thanks to Dr. Camacho. Her office is so nice and clean, staff very friendly! If you are a fitness instructor, dancer, musician, etc please make an appointment right away!! I came to know Kevin Townsend about a year ago, I was going to see Dr Deborshi Roy M.D. E.N.T. I ask Dr D. if he knew of any hearing aid People in the area he advised me that Kevin was going to be opening in his building in the first of the year. It's been a pleasant experience with Kevin, He introduce me to a new brand of over the ear hearing aids that work very well, I also bought a blue tooth for my cell phone and T.V. which works great. Dr. Norma Camacho and Dr. Kevin Townsend are amazing audiologists!!! They exceed all expectations when it comes to their outstanding customer service. Dr. Norma always told us that her patients are her family. It truly shows that she cares for her patients. I've known Dr. Normal for over 5 years. She has been my grandpa's audiologist since we had to get him new hearing aids. My grandpa lives in Las Vegas and even though being long distance may be difficult to follow-up with care, Dr. Norma always makes every effort to check in to see how he's doing. Her professionalism, dedication to her patients, and sweet kind heart has touched so many lives in ways she will never know. She's become as close as family and for that we are blessed to have her in our lives.
