Well....knowing you need to lose weight and doing it are two different things. I found a Groupon for this place and before purchasing I decided to call them a call. I was greeted right away with all questions/concerns answered to my satisfaction, and then they gladly offered me the Groupon rate in house. My husband and I are very pleased with our experience. The two girls are very sweet, and they give shots like a pro. I'm not much for needles, so I was pleasantly surprised when I barely felt my injections. Overall, we are very happy and wish we lived closer to take more advantage of our package. I have been coming here since 2007 on and off for the vitamin shots and to get back on track. Over the last couple years I have noticed the manager Jessica becoming very rude and passive aggressive towards me. As A long-time customer I would expect better customer service to be shown to a loyal customer who has given thousands of dollars over the years to this business. The people who worked there in the past used to be very sweet and I looked forward to going in. Now it makes me very uncomfortable going in there to be treated rudely after I've given this business so much money. The prices are extremely inconsistent and are constantly changing which makes it very confusing. Very disappointed in my experience with this company. read more

VERY unprofessional an unorganized. Each and every time I went in for an appointment they couldn't locate my chart. The so called doctor only comes in once a week for half the day. They are a glorified pill distribution center. Don't waste your time. I went in to pick up the last of my pills and they had no record of me ever paying. The staff is friendly and encouraging. The appetite suppressants work as do the shots that have B12/B6/ L-Lysine in them. The B12 gives me a boost in energy. Having to come in and weigh yourself keeps you honest. Since my mom was sick with cancer last year, and then eventually passed away in March, I gained 40lbs in a year. I was already overweight by 20lbs to begin with. So, I decided I really needed some help getting back to my original weight. It is so daunting that I wanted support. The Doctor's Weight Clinic provides you multivitamin injections, and phentermine appetite suppressant if you want it. I unfortunately can't take phentermine as it interacts with my other meds. However, the diet they give you is reasonable. If you stick to the diet, get the injections and workout, you will definitely lose weight. I was recommended this clinic by a close friend of mine. The initial visit was very short- they showed me the packets they offered- price range- and had me go see the "doctor". I was then prescribed phene... as a food suppressant and 3 shots a week of b 12 injections. I came to the office at 161lbs- after 5 weeks I was at 152. the loss was average not what I was looking for at all. I followed the diet pattern exactly as it was given to me. After the 5th week I told the girl that was giving me the injections that I was not happy with the results. Her answer was " Oh, you only got the b 12 injections not "all" of them"- not sure what that means. I had already paid since day 1. I lost about 8 pounds and for that I'm happy however, there are plenty more weight loss clinics out there that do a MUCH better job. This clinic will not put a plan together for you, other clinics will. I just started the process again with another clinic. I'm extremely happy- and the prices are beyond reasonable! read more

First off this place rubbed me the wrong way from the jump... nurses sitting on the counters with their phones, files spread everywhere, clueless nurses... just BAD. My friend and I wanted to lose some weight, granted I'm a little thick around the edges, my friend is STUPID skinny and only wanted something to get rid of cellulite. These scam artist talked my friend into paying a ridiculous amount of money for shots and pills she did not need. Every time we came in the office, their would be bottles laying open on the counters, needles laying around... NOT COOL Not only did they talk a 110 pound girl out of hundreds of dollars but I didn't lose a damn pound! The Balboa weight clinic has been a tremendous part of my weight loss accomplishments. Ive been coming here on and off and they've always been able to fulfill my needs. I recommend this clinic to only those who are serious about losing weight and are willing to apply a new diet plan into their lives. The shots and pills that I receive here not only suppress my appetite but also give me that extra boost of energy that I need to finish my day strong. If your expecting these shots to do all the work for you and your not planning on changing your eating habits then don't waste your time. I can proudly say that the mixture of vitamin shots and diet pills DO work and WILL make you lose weight quickly. The nurses at this location are excellent especially Jessica and Martha. They've always been patient and professional with me on a consistent basis. If you decide to go to this clinic, I recommend asking for Jessica. Shes always been my go to nurse and she gets things done quickly. These ladies are great and should be recognized for their superior service. This place is terrible, they just want your money and do nothing in return. One day one of the nurse (I don't know her name, I just remember her with her appearance of purple bluish hair girl) gave me a deal for weight loss pills and charged my card for &300 and when I asked about medication she said I would get them next week on monday after doctors visit to give me permission to take them. I told her that she shouldn't charge my card if she was not sure I am allowed to take this medication or not but she said after doctors visit she would reimburse my money with no problem. Following Monday I had doctors visit (as they call her a doctor otherwise she is Nurse practitioner) and she told me that my current meds that I am taking had dangerous interaction with this appetite repressor pills, I could have a seizure and asked nurse to reimburse my money. Turned out everybody in the clinic has right to church the costumers card but nobody has an atrocity to reimburse the money back, unbelievable, such a scam. This was the end of October and since then I go to the clinic twice a week and ask nurses to take care of this issue but they just come up with so many excuses, like a accounted who is only single person who reimburse my money comes only monday, but truth is she never is there, its being third monday I m going there to get my money back but she never comes and nobody else can help me. Another issue is that when I go to room to get my injection the have all 3 vials open with syringe needles in and they are using for every costumer the same bottle without even cleaning them. I am RN myself and I know what this contamination can cause. I also didn't lose not even a pound and when I express my concern to them they advised me to keep 1200 calorie diet, what a brainer. Here's what I can say about Doctors Weight Clinic: Very supportive staff, good appetite suppressants and supplements (buy them), and a no-nonsense approach to weight loss. I lost 38 pounds in about 11 months. Six months later I rejoined and I am on a path to lose another 12 pounds. Is it magic? No. Do you have to stick to the diet? Yes!! The doctors are informative. But you must be your own best advocate. Ask questions. Be prepared. The only negative thing that I have is that the office has moved a bit east of the address listed here. It's a nicer location. I have been going to this clinic on and off for 2 years as I'm always struggling with my weight. While some manage to drop the extra pounds with more frequent trips to the gym or by cutting back on junk food, for others, like me, the problem runs much deeper than bad habits alone: my metabolism simply does not work the way it used to! The combination of Phentermine, B12 and "combo" injections, other supplements from the clinic, exercise plan and a good healthy diet has helped me 5 times over the past 2 years. The program only works if you are strict, if you follow the rules and if you do not cheat. My experience has been good. I did my homework before starting the program as I wanted to make sure Phentermine and other appetite suppressants would not interfere with my medical condition. Initial visit doctor was a bit short, but I educated myself beforehand and knew which questions to ask. Every time I restart the program I keep track of my weight and notice when my body starts building a tolerance to Phentermine and I start getting hungrier. I've been going here to refill my phentermjne for quite some time not only was the nurse rude she was inconsistent. I Usually I bring my rx from my other doctor and buy 6 months at a time which is convenient because of the price and the fact I work no less than 70 hours a week really limits my free time. The nurse first was going to give me 6 months after the blood pressure and asked me what I usually pay and I told her what I usually pay and she pretty much accused you me of being a liar and then said she would give me a months worth frustrated I responded with "ok that's fine i understand I work in pharmaceuticals and I know there are a lot of regulations that you need to follow I am not going to push the issue" and then she decided 1 month won't work it's now only a week she is offering and then she abruptly changes her mind to absolutely nothing. Don't get me wrong this could have been a bad day for the girl but I have refilled there several times and if they have poor record keeping how is that my fault? I miss the girl who left on maternity leave and original nurse Ashley I dealt with both were always pleasant and good for the business. So for the same price you pay here I suggest going elsewhere to avoid dealing with a rude and entitled staff member. There is nothing special about this place anymore and I doubt they even care enough to read reviews. They had a solid staff and business model it's sad how one person can ruin the whole thing. read more

If you need someone to sit and hold your hand and tell you that you need to eat right and exercise to lose weight, this isn't the place for you. If you just need a little extra help with your weight loss journey, without all the extra BS costs that places add for the hand holding, this place is perfect. The ladies (especially Duen(sp? sorry!) in the office are all so sweet and I really have seen a big difference since I started coming here. I had a doctor tell me once, not to eat fruit because of the sugar. Friends push shakeology etc, everyone has their own ways and this place really lets you do what works for you without trying to push you into some sort of cult or gimmick. If I can give this place "NO"one star i would well I haven't been there in a while but I was returning there today to start the program over once I arrived I spoke with the lady at the front desk name Jessica she couldn't locate my file I also let her know that I did have items that were still on there she told me that it would have expired, I said that was strange because when I purchased it i was told me that it never expires, so when I ask to see something in writing saying that things expire if you don't return in a while, she got upset and became very unprofessional. I really think this is ridiculous, this lady was really rude and all I wanted to know was that you have something in writing that says if you don't come back in a while your things will expire, the reason I haven't been back in a while is because I wasn't really losing the weight and I really just wanted the pills, anyways I heard they put water in there shots that could explain why I never lost the weight.
