I started the hcg injections six weeks ago and have lost 22 lbs. Usually, doctor visits and discussions about weight cause stress and anxiety for me, but Dr. Tehrani and his staff are very encouraging and easy to talk to. They have a great common sense approach while being thorough in monitoring your health (physical, blood work, etc). I leave the office motivated and ready to do the work I must do on my end. The staff were always friendly... however I had to stop going after being diagnosed with a blood clot in my leg & severe acne. I started to break out on my face and at first thought it was because of the mask but then started to break out on my back in painful deep pimples. Very unusual for me. This all happened shortly after receiving the lipo shots for. It seemed to have triggered a hormonal reaction of some type. Apparently I am not the only one... I have talked to several people who also got acne from the shots. I really wanted this to work for me but sadly I have more concerns now than when I came in with. Everyone's body is different. I don't think that they give a s***. I visited MD Spa after checking out Yelp reviews and ordering a LivingSocial special for Microdermabrasion & IPL treatment. I was absolutely shocked, in a negative way, by my visit. I was tempted to immediately submit a negative review online, but I decided to wait a week for the results, and write to the spa directly. I never got a response back, therefore I think that they just do not give crap about their customers and their experience. I've had both microdermabrasion and IPL treatments in the past (at least 10), and never, ever, did the treatment last a total of 5-10 minutes. With microderm, they usually take the time to clean your entire face, under the chin, around eyes with a different attachment - here, it was maybe 3 minutes total. I was shocked. Similarly with the IPL, quick in and out, not area by area meticulously, as it was done in the past. Also, the procedure was pretty painful. I would expect the treatment to start low and increase it to patient's tolerance, not the other way around - zap them from the beginning. The treatment maybe took another 3 minutes and the results show it - my spots did not go away, as they had with previous treatments that I've done in the past. I was also perplexed by the way Dr. Tehrani "warned" me about the possible complications, making me feel pretty uncomfortable, as he asked numerous times: "Are you sure you want to proceed?" As a patient, you want to be reassured, not freaked out. I understand that he needs to protect himself and his business by having the patient understand the possible complications, but it was just the strangest experience and not the tone a patient expects to hear. I was extremely shocked by how quickly the treatment was conducted, with little care. I am not sure if I was treated this way, because my procedures are not their bread and butter (it is a weight loss clinic) and maybe these extra treatments in between are a quick filler for extra money? Maybe I was treated this way because I had a LivingSocial deal? I felt like they just wanted to get people in and out without any care, if they ever come back? That is not good business. Especially, if you want the patients to continue treatment with another session and get good end results. In this very competitive world, we expect a certain standard of care and a certain level of decency. Very disappointed. read more

I have struggled to lose weight for the past year. I gained over 20 pounds during a past very stressful relationship and have had a very hard time losing the weight. I've been going to this weight loss clinic for awhile now. I had 2 kids back to back and had a lot of baby weight to lose. First I tried the HCG injections & low calorie diet. I was able to lose a significant amount of weight on this 30 day diet. My goal was to lose about 30 lbs and I lost about 25 so not bad at all. The key is being consistent and I would fall off track at times. Currently I'm taking the appetite suppressant pills to curve my appetite. It's been helping; I've lost 10 lbs in about 3 weeks. So I'm pretty much back down to my pre-babies weight. I also do vitamin injections to give me energy. Everyone is really nice here. The service is fast, they get you in & out, I just show up- (without appointment every week) to get my shots. The Doctor is nice and says he's always available to speak to if you have any questions. I bought a groupon for the IPL and microdermabrasion. It was a great!! The doctor was very nice and explained everything thoroughly. He's a tad rough with the microderm compared to ones I've had in the past but it didn't bother me. Either way, it gets the job done. Before this IPL facial, I'd had maybe 4 done, including one about 4 months prior to this at another place here in San Diego. I got a Groupon for that place too and I saw ZERO results! It was so disappointing because the ones I'd had done before that one gave me such beautiful results!! So after a few months passed, I started looking for another Groupon for a different place to get the IPL done and came upon MD spa. Well fast forward to today(about 3 weeks after the IPL) and my face looks so good!! It has removed almost all of my hyperpigmentation and sun spots! After just the one treatment! I feel so pretty!! Lol! I can't help but feel like that last place I tried keeps their lasers turned way down so that you keep purchasing more treatments to get any visible results. Got a Groupon for 2 IPL photofacials here with Karen. I suffer with very pink skin and my goal was for these treatments to help calm down the redness. She was running a little late for my first IPL, so I didn't get to talk with her much but she did notice that I had quite a few breakouts and I could tell she wanted to address that. The facial took about 15 minutes, it's not crazy painful but it does feel like someone snapping you with a rubber band all over your face. I was told to wait another month before the next one so I scheduled one exactly a month out. I noticed my redness calmed down about three weeks after and my skin tone was more even. The second facial hurt a lot less and she had time to talk to me about my acne. She was so knowledgeable!!! Had so many tips and ideas for me to try to help clear up my skin. After COMPLETELY listening to me about what seems to work and not work with my skin, she recommended a good little customized mix of products to get which was awesome, I've always had people just recommend one solid line and not customize for my specific skin type and take the time to mix and match products. She is so awesome and sweet I will definitely be returning for other treatments. Spa was also very clean and calming but Karen is the reason I'll be back.
