I used trash bags and then weighed them. The driver called me the day of and gave me a window of time and came directly to my 8th floor apartment door with a giant, rolling bin to pickup my four bags. He is the hero of this story. When the cleaners had questions, he called me. Then we picked a time for him to drop-off based on my schedule. My clothes came back in clear, plastic bags all folded and yes, smelled clean. I could track everything in the app and the receipt was sent to me via email with the breakdown. My weight (of clothes) matched theirs and I was not surprised by the bill. I went to call the guy for help and I said hello to him, he didn't say anything back. I went to the machine and he followed me and tried to start it but it didn't work so he restarted the machine. He then walked away from me not saying anything so I kept saying "excuse me, excuse me" and he just kept walking. He finally turned around and I asked him was he going to refund me the money the card took, he said that was what he was going to do....WHY DIDN'T YOU SAY ANYTHING THEN?? He came back and restarted the machine and it was still giving the same error message. He then told me to move my clothes to a different machine and I was trying to explain to him that I already put the soap in the machine and he just kept repeating "move it to another machine then proceed to yell at me "what did I say!?" and that I don't listen and started pulling his ear while yelling at me that I don't listen. That was utterly rude...I am not his child and there was no reason for him to get loud and disrespectful with me.

There is a guy here that is probably somebody's grandpa (does he have butterscotch in his pocket?) that was the attendant. He mopped up quickly, he told me it was going to take no less than 30 minutes of drying on low (very true). He was running the place efficiently. It was clean, 90% operable and in a good neighborhood. Although small and they don't take credit cards I will come back if my "Honey Do List" takes me worldwide and back to DC.

Going in, I had NO idea what to do or what things would cost. A fellow customer advised me to use the extra large washers. I learned later that I added waaaaay too much cleanser. I could go on about my series of unfortunate events (doors not closing, suds everywhere, water on the floor- all user error), but I digress. With all of my angst and mishaps, at every turn, there was someone to assist me, and mostly without asking! There are vending machines, a television, a few arcade games, a store and a counter to purchase detergents. There are little separation areas to keep you from feeling overwhelmed. My rug didn't ring properly, so my drying time was well over 1.5 hours, but that was because of the padding on the rug. I'm here on a Sunday morning. It is not crowded. There were some language barriers, but that didn't stop the staff from eagerly coming over to help me. You guys know I appreciate exceptional customer service! My only criticism (and it's slight) is what's going on in each phase of the wash cycle is not clearly marked. I would return.

The dryers are in two separate rooms, which got pretty warm, though dried clothes quickly. There are carts to carry clothes from the washer to the dryer and then onward to get folded. I chose the smallest, and still had plenty of room for more clothes. The cycle last 29 minutes. Times flies with free WiFi! You start by purchasing a card from the machine on the wall for $1.00. I thought that this was a fee for the card, but when I added money for my load I saw that my dollar spent was added to my card. There is a bill breaker machine so you don't need to add more money than you'll need. (I have $1.01 credit now) There are so many machines and they are all brand new. I work down the road, and this place was a work in progress for almost two years. It's really loud in here with blaring Latino music and screaming kids running around. You can escape next door to the Family Dollar while your clothes are in the wash, just watch the time. They also have a huge snack bar, and of course sell laundry aids.

A staff member approached me and asked whether I was actually doing laundry because her boss had called specifically to ask about my partner and me. To be clear, I do not blame the attendant. It was obvious she was simply following instructions. Based on what I was told, it appears the owners were reviewing the security cameras and contacted her about us specifically. My issue is with how that situation was handled. I found the interaction insulting and uncomfortable. It felt like they assumed I was there simply to hang out and use the table rather than as a paying customer who was actively doing laundry. What made the experience even more upsetting was that I did not see staff question any other patrons in the same way. My partner and I were definitely in the minority at that location, which left me wondering whether we were singled out because we looked like we "didn't belong." Whether intentional or not, that was the message the interaction conveyed. If management is going to monitor customers through security cameras, they should at least conduct a thorough review before directing staff to confront patrons. A quick look would have shown that we were actively using multiple machines and were legitimate customers. Being questioned under those circumstances felt unnecessary and insulting. I was so upset by being unnecessarily targeted that I seriously considered leaving with soaking wet clothes and taking my business elsewhere. Since moving off campus everything's still been good and my clothes are clean and soft. I love Tony he's the best!
