Specifically, we enjoyed the hot buffalo hot wings, bbq wings, wedges, and the $10 burger special. Although we didn't request any specific game, we saw the bartenders and servers switching channels to accommodate nearby tables. Very cool. We appreciate ALL the Chucktown/Mt. P restaurants that maintain a reasonable price point and create a fun (local) atmosphere. Service was warm, chill, and attentive. Great place to watch a game and catch up with a friend(s). read more

We went back to the Dog and Duck after visiting a friend in the hospital. Saw that their dish they were known for was fish & chips. For a bit of info, I had sworn off fish & chips in the States. Once you have had it across the Pond this side seems to fall short. Their Fish & Chips was pretty good. Breading was light and fish was flaky. Was not one large piece of fish, but done in pieces. Instead of mushy peas, they give you coleslaw. Their coleslaw is very good. Really enjoyed our second visit to this location. read more

We had a blast at this pub in Mount Pleasant. They are constructing a new patio, so you'll need to dodge some materials and workers on your way into the door. There is no patio seating right now. We sat at the bar and had lunch before venturing out to the Mount Pleasant breweries. They have a great tap selection and full bar. They love their Sierra Nevada, here. We were looking for a casual, no stress place to grab a late lunch/early dinner and decided to check out the popular Mount Pleasant D&D located in the Belle Hall Shopping Center on Long Point Road. We arrived at 4:00 pm. Though there's lots of umbrella'd seating on the patio, everyone was inside due to the heat. It was already crowded and let's say, energetic. There was a sign to seat ourselves and we selected a nice corner table. Randy immediately approached us with menus and offered us water while we reviewed the selections. Hub chose a signature beer. I stayed with water. Hub wanted the fried grouper bites ($9.79) as a starter. I expected the preparation to be lightly battered per the menu; however, disappointingly for me, they arrived heavily battered with an accompanying 'spicy' Cajun remoulade that was underwhelming. While way outside my dietary comfort zone, I could not pass ... lol. The bites were hot, fresh and crispy with surprisingly no grease. The fish was flavorful and moist. OK, they were mighty tasty! My Chef Salad ($13.79) was fabulous and large ... a real 'dinner salad' ... clearly, a winner. It was comprised of generous portions of julienned ham, thinly sliced fresh turkey, bacon (always wish there was more) and sliced hard boiled egg served on a bed of very fresh greens with diced tomatoes and a mix of shredded cheeses. As there was no low fat dressing, and I had already overindulged on the fried grouper bites, I went for the 1000 Islands Dressing (on the side, of course). The jury is still out on my husband's Yetiburger ($13.99). It was different, prepared as a sandwich on grilled sourdough bread, rather than on a roll. It seemed smaller than 1/2 lb., as described, but the Certified Angus beef was tasty, topped with apple smoked bacon, pepper Jack cheese, sliced tomato and barbecue sauce. Hub thought the meat should have been hotter. I thought the entire preparation should have been built higher (read: bigger). As presented, it looked like a sandwich that one would prepare at home (but messier). The order came with a nice sized portion of seasoned fries. They were fresh, crispy and while nothing special, they were better than meh. Throughout the meal, Randy checked on us several times which is always appreciated. The food was fine; the prices, fair; the service, excellent ... not always easy to find these days! We'll be back, soon, for sure! read more

Our visit on a Thursday evening was handled with an alarming lack of care. Despite all members of our group being 23 or older, three of our IDs were inexplicably damaged--bent in half--while in the establishment's possession. Instead of addressing the situation responsibly, staff informed us that we were "cut off," offering no explanation for the destruction of our property. Mind you we had been there an hour before . The manager's conduct was particularly troubling. Based on how he handled the situation, he most likely lacks the qualifications and experience expected of someone in a managerial role. His dismissive attitude, unprofessional behavior, and inability to resolve even a basic issue made that very clear. This establishment would benefit from leadership with stronger experience, proper training, and a more capable presence. We are nice people who could have called the Police for destruction of property but held back in kidness. The way this incident was managed raises serious concerns and is the type of situation that could reasonably lead to potential legal action. Also are waitress was a sweetheart. Bless her heart. For these reasons, I cannot recommend this establishment and strongly advise others to proceed with caution. If you run in to this manager or any problems let us know. read more

This is their best location. There are always locals eating, drinking and having good times here. The bartenders are top-notch also. I work nearby and come here very often and can tell you that you can't really go wrong with the menu. Everything is good to very good. We love the mahi tacos and the Korean tacos. Their burgers are juicy and will fill you up. Don't miss the potato salad, It's memorable.. They just opened up a covered outdoor area with TVs which they certainly needed, especially when there are sports on and the bar is too full inside. During their renovation recently, we did have a small metal washer that must've fallen into my wife's coleslaw, but management handled it well. read more

I'm a first time visitor, and a seafood lover. I heard that D&D's Fish and Chips were a house specialty, so I bit. I was not disappointed: the fish was among the best I've ever had. No thin fillets with more breading than fish. These were large chunks, perfectly cooked, tender and flavorful. To be fair my bar hostess did say the French dip, but to fill my appetite..go with the YB. What did I go with? The YB. And what a mistake that was. A) it was a glorified patty melt with cold soggy bacon and tomato 7) it was the most bland burger I have ever had. I dont think it was even fresh. Don't even get me started on the "seasoned fries". I really counted this place out as just a typical bar at first but the more I come here, the more it grows on me. There are so many reasons to love this place. The kitchen and bar is open the latest in MtP (until midnight), the food is so good! And they make their margaritas with fresh squeeze lime juice instead of mixer. It's super fun with a few games lying around. And they get in the spirit by putting up lights during Christmas. What more could you ask for from a local bar that's right up the street? Me and a friend had a long day and decided to go here for a quick bite. I brought a small mat for my service animal to lay on as I would not let even my dog lay on the sticky, dirty, unwashed floors in this place. He is so well trained he ate raw meat from the same bowl with a wild cat. He calmly took his place and laid himself and his head down peacefully. Our Server "Kaitlyn", (AKA Veruca) came over after a few moments and immediately yelled at me to "get me and my dog out of there." the place was pretty crowded and she started out by causing a scene without ANY provocation. Many patrons were immediately stunned by her outburst. I calmly asked her to please not cause a scene, which was too late at that point. I politely informed her that my dog was a fully certified NSAR Service and Guide rated companion. She said "I don't care; you need to go eat outside". I again asked her to stop screaming and reminder her it was 40 degrees out and that it was illegal to make me sit outside in the cold just because I had a CERTIFIED Service Dog. She decided to yell even louder that "Bringing him in here was a DHEC violation". I said you don't seem to understand the law, can you please get a manager? Ms. Becerra then in her nasty, boisterous manner yelled "I AM THE MANGER!" I replied then please call your GM. She said "The only thing I'm going to call is the cops if you don't get out of here!" I said, Are you kidding? She yelled "WATCH ME! As she stormed out onto the patio, phone in hand. Moments later 2 squad cars, lights blaring followed moments later by a third showed up. Ms. Congeniality went outside and began yelling at the police to drag me out of there. Some moments later the police came and got the exact story you just read from the adjoining table that was also mortified at this "Managers" discrimination, rudeness, screaming and clear violation of the law. After pow-wowing outside again with Ms. Kaitlyn Becerra, the police came in and informed me that I was 100% correct and she could not remove me, my guest or my Service animal. So is that it? NOPE! The best is yet to come! After the police left did she come over and APOLOGIZE? NOPER! Instead she went around to numerous tables continuing to ridicule me with patrons by lying about how unbelievably wrong she was. The next day I went back there an low and behold! I explained the events and asked for a formal apology for the actions of their employee and assurance that she would be properly trained and or fired. They ACTED like they were going to take some kind of action that day when their personally appointed, untrained and un-couth manager Kaitlyn "Verruca" Becerra was due to be in at 3:30 and they would call me right after they spoke to her. Well DAYS went by and I FINALLY got the GM Philip Consolo on the phone who told me Rod was handling the situation. Well he handled it by inviting her to a employee getaway!
