    Cider on draft
    Christy M.

My hubs wanted to head here for a quick little date night. I think they're on par for what you'd expect for a fast-ish mostly chicken spot. I like that they had a cider option on draft. The fried pickles were super salty... I expected salty because... pickles... but I mean, it was a lot. This isn't a place (imo) where you go and leave saying "the food is amazing!" But it is a relaxed, good service, bar food kind of place!

We had a great time setting up at the bar.I got a starter, and they ain't got our meal. My husband is hoping that they'll get the beer in that he and others drink Amsterdam Light bottle beer. The restaurant we went to for 5 years. The girl has quit working there on Mondays and Tuesdays. So we're looking for a another place to go for happy hours.

Ordered from here twice already. Once delivered by Door Dash and once on their website for pickup. Both times the food was really good. The quesadilla is my daughters favorite by far. I'm very happy with the convenience of ordering online from Kickin Chicken. It has a nice inside vibe as well. Some video games against the wall. TVs above the bar with various games on depending on the day. Overall a nice addition to this end of West Ashley.

New spot, close to us. We tried wings, burger, and southwest egg rolls. Egg rolls-awesome! Burger-ok. Wings- good, but I'd ask for well done next time. Service was good. I can see this place being a big hit with kids! The happy hour menu looks like a great value.

I will start off by saying this place is fantastic! Food is always amazing here and we did not have to wait long before the food arrived. Tyler and Hannah were amazing to us, always kept checking up on us and making sure we were good the times we came! Thank you for the food and great service!

When walking in we weren't greeted right away, but once hostess got to stand it, we were seated right away. The place was very clean, not too loud which was great considering they have a lot of TVs to watch sports. Our server Bailey was awesome, he answered any questions we had about the menu quickly and friendly. When we ordered a salad and he asked if we were sharing it he offered to bring out on 2 different plates. We also ordered chicken wings which had great flavor but there was a couple under cooked.

The reviews were kinda mixed so I didn't have the highest of hopes, but I'm always willing to give a place a shot. The building looks like a medical practice so I initially rode past it but once inside it's nicely renovated. There's a main dining area, 2 bars, a VIP lounge with hookah, and a room with a pool table. I came during happy hour but the food is unbelievably cheap without the discount. Our server Sierra was great, but the bartender/hookah server needs to work on her customer service skills. She ignored us for 20 mins but found time to pour herself a drink and twerk. Now the food: The cabbage plate with fried whiting, yams and rice was yummy, seasoned well, and plentiful The chicken Alfredo with broccoli was delicious Never had fried corn but it was great! The dredge was perfectly crispy and seasoned well. The drinks weren't memorable Went back a 2nd time and had brunch: peach Bellini carafe (perfect), salmon cakes (soooo good), grits and eggs were just ok. Our server Jasmine was great. I'll definitely return when I'm back in town 7/10

You can tell they make the effort to marinate the wings because the meat itself was flavorful. $20 for 12 wings + fries. The salmon plate was about $11 after tax and was very good! The salmon croquette was nice and crunchy on the outside with the perfect proportion of bell peppers/onions in the middle.

Service was painfully slow, it appears they had two servers for the lunch shift, which was not enough, or at least the one serving us could not handle the lunch rush very well. She was working hard, though. It took quite a bit of time for us to even be acknowledged after we were seated. Server did apologize for the delay. Food also took some time to get to us, server also acknowledged this by swinging back by and letting us know that we were up next with food. Lastly, we had to get up and flag our server in order to get a to-go box and bill, as she had not come back by. As far as the food, we all thought our dishes - reuben, spinach salad, rice bowl, and roasted portabella stack were okay. I had the grilled mushroom stack, and while flavorful with the grilled vegetables, it was extremely messy. It was so juicy that it soaked up the bun and it could not be picked up successfully without falling apart. They need to better execute this sandwich - drain off all the excess liquid or use a better bread for the sandwich. Overall, it was fine, but nothing that has me excited to go back. So many better options in Charleston.

Double bonus was the renovated and clean bathrooms!

That said, we were NOT told that there was only 1 cook and it would be a long wait for food until wellllll after we placed food orders. Drinks weee not filled in a timely fashion, empty dishes sat for a while. Again, trading on a curve because they were short staffed. But we should have been told from the get-go, not after waiting a really long time to place and order and then waiting a while for the appetizer. I had the Stones burger and ordered medium. It came out well done, that's fine, but it was the driest, hardest hockey puck of a burger you can imagine. My son ordered the breakfast burger and was NOT asked how he wanted the egg cooked, it was cooked runny which he doesn't like, so he didn't eat it after a literal nibble. The fried pickles were the saltiest I've ever had and the portion size was very small, especially after waiting so long for them. Yeah it's a sports bar but the TVs were up so loud any conversation was impossible and it was actually hard to hear the waitress. This was just not a good experience at all. Spent nearly an hour waiting for food while hearing a TV blasting in my ears, not being able to talk to my kids, starving because I saved my calories for this meal, and having lousy food to boot. Do not recommend. J.Ja

The restaurant is nicely spread out, so even when it's busy, you don't feel crammed in or shouting over the table next to you. There are plenty of TVs and good sightlines, making it easy to stay locked into the game without feeling overwhelmed. The Eats The food holds its own for a sports pub. I've ordered the wings and a couple of burgers, and they've always been enjoyable. That said, the real MVP here is the nachos. Loaded, satisfying, and perfect for sharing -- they're easily the best thing on the menu in my opinion and my go-to order every time. The Service Service has been consistently solid. Parting Thoughts If you're looking for a reliable place to watch a game with good food and enough space to be comfortable, Charleston Sports Pub is a strong choice. I paired it with slaw and a roasted vegetable medley (extra roasted), which was phenomenal. The next day at lunch, I ordered the Greggah--their lobster roll. Perfectly seasoned cold lobster meat piled into a top-split, buttery roll, finished with a twangy mustard sauce that adds just the right kick, and served with drawn butter. On the side were roasted vegetables (excellent again) and slaw that was crunchy, creamy, and unmistakably Lowcountry in style. I also added the made-in-house, from-scratch crab balls appetizer. Perfection on a plate. Since I was in town working, I returned the following day for lunch and splurged a bit. It was Clam Day Wednesday. I had a dozen steamed clams, a half-pound of steamed shrimp, and a half-dozen Parmesan-style char-grilled oysters on the half shell. The clams were absolutely perfect--sweet, tender, juicy, and ready to be plucked from the shell. The oysters were delicate morsels of pure deliciousness. The shrimp were perfectly cooked, ideal with cocktail sauce. I left extremely satisfied. The restaurant sits on the corner of a shopping center with plenty of parking out front. Inside, you're likely greeted right away. There are tables, booths, and a full bar stocked with all the libations you could want. Be sure to check the chalkboard for daily specials and the current oyster selections. They brew their own tea--no mix, no concentrate. The staff is friendly and attentive.

Welp, upon entering the big, very cold and empty restaurant, our server informed us that they only had the BBQ portion. This was a blow to my vegan friend so she only ordered fries. The fries were small, dry and looked like they were mostly the castoff end bits. I ordered 1/2 dozen chargrilled oysters. It was my first time tasting oysters this way and they were juicy and delicious and seasoned. I dropped 2 drops of hot sauce with 1 drop of their house sweet vinegar sauce. Yum but absolutely miniscule portions and why was the bread so plain? Could they have toasted the slices, please? Or given me a pat of some cool garlic butter or what not? For $18, I was starving. The woebegone fries were $4. Our server was friendly enough but not attentive nor helpful in recommendations. My friend had to walk and get him to bring our check.

Glad we popped in to try the newest iteration-- we miss the OG Blu Sushi / we're still okay with…read morethe Blu Hibachi/ but very glad they changed to the current Blu Smoke! The pulled pork was some of the best I've had (stand alone without sauce) in a while with a true wood smoked taste that wasn't as dry as the wood chips used to smoke it with! But, that Smoked Turkey though... it just might have taken the #1 spot for me personally! The Beef Cheeks were the stars in the beefy arena - tender and juicy! The smoked 1/2 Chicken was tasty too -- maintained the moisture but might have needed just a touch longer on the rotisserie -- it's a delicate balance with chicken getting it cooked all the way through but not drying it out. Ribs were VERY delish (I don't normally like ribs, but these were smaller & literally fell off the bone when I went to take one)... Brisket was a touch dry compared to the beef cheeks, so those would be the preference over the Brisket going forward. The sauces. Don't normally like vinegar but this was a sweet slight heat! Plus red (ketchup) and yellow (mustard). Mix em up! But try the meats before you slather them in the sauce bc they really don't need it! They need to improve on the sides, though - I'm GF and my BF has Celiac. Basically, all the BBQ Meats and BBQ sauces are GF... And from what we were able to eat sidewise, we opted for the potato salad (too much mustard & a very hard boiled egg, but still decent) & cucumber salad (overly marinated & pickled, but still okay)-- the bread & butter pickles with onion served with the meats were our palate's preferred pickle; the slaw, collards & beans are also GF, but I can't do beans either & we didn't really care for the slaw at Blu Oyster prior, so we leaned to the other veggie options. Also other GF options-- baked/loaded potatoes, salads w/o croutons, stuffed jalepenos, burgers/sandwiches without the bun/bread... We weren't offered the wrap option, nor shown the BOH notes floating around and we were steered in the proper direction for Celiac by Meghan. Also, technically, still GF, just have Cross-Contamination due to a shared frier and NOT safe for Celiac are the fried nacho chips... but we weren't offered those bc we mentioned Celiac. The Daisy Duke was really stellar; loved the dark rum, Dr. p & special cherry touch! Also, the Cadillac/Mustang Margarita? (The name escapes me but at the top of the menu) with a nice slow heat from the fresh jalapeno which paired nicely with the sweetness of the pineapple. Prices are a touch high, but would definitely go back for some tasty, smoky meats in the future, maybe to go.
