We have a Weimaraner puppy, Walter, who is now 7 months old. He is our 5th Weim puppy over the years and I've never experienced a dog like him. He was the perfect gentleman when my husband was around but would totally disregard anything I said. He didn't listen to me, would jump on me and bite my arms when I came home from work. He was the biggest thief around always stealing things and then playing his come get me game, which I admit, I was a part of bribing him with food to get him to leave whatever he had. Walking on a leash was miserable. We worked with another trainer and saw absolutely no results. It got to the point where we were considering returning him to the breeder because he was so out of control. He quickly learned place, stops and sits before walking through the doorway, and is becoming an expert at coming when called despite all of the turkeys distracting him in our yard! I spent a lot of researching and meeting with local dog trainers. I deeply desire well trained dogs who are happy bc they know what is expected of them. After the sudden passing of our Boxer, we introduced a new puppy to our family and our Boxer's bonded partner Ginger. At this point in our lives with 2 babies and 1 adult dog, a business, jobs, parents to care for l, I was not messing around. I knew exactly what I wanted and I was not settling. I have had 4 Labrador Retrievers, and have taken puppy classes in the past, but this is the first time I have worked with a trainer one-on-one and done e-collar training. The change in my dog (Oats') behavior has been amazing! Before I started training with Sarah, Oats barked almost incessantly in our house. She ate through 4 seatbelts in my car. She pulled hard on the leash whenever I tried to walk her. My answer to her behavior was always to exercise her more off-leash. As my husband put it, "You spend half the day just trying to manage Oats!" With Sarah, we were able to teach my dog to relax and not be so highly reactive. The crate training, in particular, has helped give me more time to get things done when home. And since I have added a crate to my car, my seatbelts have been saved! We could not be more pleased with our dog's progress even after the first meeting with Sarah. The list of difficulties we had with our dog was long even after she went through a complete training class with another trainer in our area. We have a dog that is not typically motivated by treats especially when she has other plans on what she wants to do. This all changed very rapidly working with Sarah. Annoying uncontrollable barking gone, destructive chewing also corrected, eating habits greatly improved. Response to commands also greatly improving every week. It appears that our dog knew all along what we wanted her to do and now she is doing it. I visited the Dog Coach space with Sarah Prescott last Friday because we are looking to have her help train our puppy Ziva, who has a major chewing addiction. I'll be honest, I volunteered for an animal rescue in Atlanta for 5 years, I'd gone through years of dog training in my early twenties-I thought I'd seen it all. They usually are loud and smelly and you know. Guys! Dog Coach's space is luxurious. I get there and there are birds chirping and it smells like heaven and grass and she had this amazing outdoor training space and I'm just like, what? Where are the dogs?? Why can't I hear dogs barking?! Because they're hanging out having naps inside the SOUNDPROOFED napping space. So I go to meet her dogs, right? And every single one of the dogs that are hanging out with her are huge but well mannered and TRAINED, some of them that day. I was like, yes, sign me up. Sarah and Jonathan connected with us at the right time. We have a fun, loving and mischief Mini Aussie who is 1.5. We had attended puppy kindergarten and 8 training sessions with another trainer, who trained with treats! We had taken a break for awhile with training. Our dog Jessie was ruling the house. He was getting into a lot of areas he shouldn't. Being destructive in chewing things and having issues with separation anxiety. Sarah and Jonathan helped to work out a lot of issues with the use of a prong collar. Jessie had started to escape from the crate when he was young. Opening the door & undoing a special lock. We had given up on the crate for the past 7 months. They helped to train us in getting the dog back in the crate. We also purchased a special collar to help control some barking issues. Until the day we met Sarah, I was doubtful that I would be able to keep my dog and give him the quality of life he deserved. Sarah changed our lives. Sarah is extremely professional and we could not be any happier with the training results. Our dog, Piper, is a sweet pup but she lived in a shelter and had zero idea about any social behavior. She would pull and cross in front of my feet while walking, sitting was a foreign concept, and her crate was a place to fear... We have two goldendoodle brothers who are now 15 months. Before Sarah they did not listen/come when called, ran out the front door as soon as it opened, and jumped all over people with their uncontrollable energy when they came over. Sarah was amazing with our dogs, and that doesn't even come close to describing it. We have a hundred-plus pound boy who is incredibly people friendly but got dog aggressive after some bad experiences and a smaller, fear aggressive former bait dog. We were walking in empty parking lots until Sarah came along. Her training methods and understanding of communication and problem solving have made it so 6 months later we can walk on crowded streets. We can't say enough good things about Dog Coach. They transformed our Great Pyrenees mix Teddie from an uncontrollable and disobedient dog to one who now walks well on a leash. Our doodle puppy started to bark at people, dogs, doorbells... He is the sweetest dog but it started to feel like we couldn't bring him anywhere as he would bark and get anxious. He is also very mischievous in the house, and managing him and children was feeling overwhelming! Sarah was wonderful with Rudy, and also helped me feel a lot more calm and in control as a dog owner!
