I have been using Walk A Pup for almost a year to care for my blind pug with daily walks and pet sitting while away. Yana and Dan are incredibly professional and caring, and they truly understand animals. Additionally, they are very flexible and have a great team of dog walkers that work with them. When Corky became sick, Yana and Dan were very flexible and rearranged their schedules so that he could have multiple visits per day instead of just his normal one. Additionally, they are very good with his special needs and are able to give him his medication and food in the middle of the day, which was going to be impossible for me as I work in Boston. The best part of using Walk a Pup is that they leave detailed notes detailing how their visits go during the day. It is always fun for me to get home from work and read about how my dog got to play with the puppy across the street or go on a walk with another dog. Dan and Yana are so much more than Dog Walkers! They are knowledgeable, patient, open-minded dog trainers who truly care about our dogs. I have a very special rescue dog who is terrified of people. In the 10 months we've had him, he's only warmed up to me and boyfriend. He barks at anyone who comes into the house, cowers, tries to escape, and is in shear panic mode until the visitor leaves. Yana and Dan come twice a week to help with Truman's issues. They try a different exercise with him at every visit and I am blown away by how well Truman responds to them. In just two weeks, they've made great strides with him and I am hopeful for his continued improvement. I just wish I had called them earlier! We've tried other so-called 'dog professionals' in the past and they do not begin to compare with Walk a Pup. Call them! You won't regret it. read more

For about a year they have been walking our two Boston terriers, Chubby and Mynne. They have helped us to get them to walk better on a leash. When I moved to the North Shore, I was a little worried about how I was going to replace my last puppy daycare/dog walker. I found Walk-A-Pup through Yelp and I am so thankful that I did. My French Bulldog Rosie has participated in dog walking and their playgroups, and I always come home to a very happy and tired dog on those days. Walk-A-Pup always leaves notes to tell me how Rosie's day was and I look forward to reading about her adventures. Every once in a while, Walk-A-Pup posts videos on their Instagram account and I see Rosie zooming around the room like a mad woman, so I know she is having as much fun as her notes say! I also recently took Rosie to a Winter Tricks and Games class with Dan and Rosie had a lot of fun learning about things she can do inside with me when the weather makes it harder for us to be outside for long periods of time. I would recommend Dan for training - he had some great tips and seemed willing to do research if there was something he didn't know how to teach! read more

I can't say enough good things about Dan, Yana and the whole Walk A Pup team. Walk A Pup came highly recommended by the shelter we adopted our high anxiety dog from. About a week after adopting our dog, Dexter, we contacted Walk A Pup. They were not hesitant at all to take on our high needs dog. They worked with us closely to troubleshoot what would work/not work for walks, and after Dexter settled in, we decided to pursue training as well. Both experiences were amazing! Dan and Yana were always willing to give us their advice and even consulted with our behaviorist as Dexter tried out some anxiety meds. While we unfortunately had to move outside of the Walk A Pup walking area, Dan and Yana have continued to offer training and guidance. Dan also helped us find a local walker/trainer that he worked with one on one to ensure a smooth transition. If you're lucky enough to live in the Walk A Pup service area, give them a call! I honestly don't even know where to start. I like to say that Dan and Yana plus the rest of the walk-pup crew are sent from heaven! I work in Boston, so when I got Lou my pug puppy I knew I had to find someone to help care for him during the day. They go above and beyond when it comes to caring for animals. I have also done one-on-one training and group training which have both been incredibly helpful for my anxious dog. I can only reiterate what other here have said. walk-a-pup, dan, yana and the entire crew are just absolutely terrific. so much much more than dog walkers, they really become your dogs friends. these are not just people that make sure your dog goes out in the yard while you are at work. These are real pet lovers who have excellent skills with both people and dogs. Yana and Dan do a great job running this place. Our dog is a big fan of the walking services. The walkers often take the dog for an hour or more on some great trips. They leave a journal behind with all the events that took place on the walk. Every walker I have met is very good with the dog and seems very responsible. We have used Walk a Pup for almost a year to walk our pug, Finn. The only reason we stopped is because we moved out of the area. They came to our place two times a day every day of the week and we never once had one single problem with them. When I moved to Salem, my biggest concern was how my dogs would adjust. As soon as I talked to Yana on the phone I knew I had found the right person. Ever since then, she and Dan have gone above and beyond for my dogs....not only walking them, but investing in their care the way I would. They are patient with my stubborn beagle (who is super cute) and make sure my ball-obsessed border collie gets just the right amount of exercise to poop her out but not aggravate her hip dysplasia. It is amazing how intuitive they are with my dogs needs, and how they understand their personalities. I have even noticed a big improvement in their temperament: happy, confident, more social. I could not be happier with Walk-A-Pup! My boyfriend and I have a rescue, Baxter, who we don't like to leave alone all day. Because of Dan and Yana, my dog has a better social life than I do!!! I was referred to them by a woman I met while out with my gorgeous 6 year old Cocker Spaniel, Jake. I've only had Jake a year, and when I got him, we nicknamed him "Shaky Jakey" because of how nervous he was. Since becoming one of the cool, "Walk-A-Pup" pack, Jake has become more confident, a much better leash walker, has a bunch of dog buds that I read about, and is loving life! I've met almost all of the walkers that have taken Jake out, and they all have been so wonderful. I work long hours and my place is an embarrassing MESS because I would rather spend my time with the pets than do the dishes. The Walk-A-Pup peeps are so good about stepping over the dog toys and ignoring the clutter--they are professional, flexible, and incredibly knowledgeable on so many levels. Dan and Yana have been walking our two dogs since May 2011. Our schedules have been getting busier and we needed some help with walking, as well as training. We have had our black lab mix for about 5 years and added our smaller spaniel mix to the family last year.
