Dog Holiday Resort has been apart of our dogs life for over 12 years. From puppies through out their lives and ultimately twilight years. It is appreciated the peace of mind we have had, allowing us to travel, vacation etc. When they needed extra help getting around and on many medications DHR was able and willing to give them the extra care that was needed. I love this place and won't take my dog anywhere else for boarding! You won't find a place at such a reasonable price with such individualized and included care. I have been taking my dog here for at least 6+ years. The owner is awesome!! He is so nice and genuine. The areas the dogs stay in are large pens and I feel good knowing my dog has plenty of room. When I have to drop my dog off he runs right in excitedly every time without even looking back. Brian the owner is such a special and kind person. We feel so lucky to have found him and his place. I have been taking my 2 dogs here for about 8 years now and the one time I tried another place (because I changed jobs and it was more convenient) it was AWFUL! Brian is amazing with the dogs and my 2 love him! They always go in willingly (leaving is a different story ... yes, Stormy has plopped down on the floor in the lobby and refused to leave LOL!) and always come home exhausted! We do daycare twice a week and recently did boarding for a week (for the first time in several years). I was really concerned that being left for that long would cause her not to want to go back but, on the first day of daycare after I picked her up from boarding, she trotted right on in like always. Brian at Dog Holiday has always been great to us. We have a VERY temperamental Beagle and have had trouble with a couple of local boarding agencies. I can't say enough about Dog Holiday Resort and the care our dogs have received there. Our first dog had quite a few medical issues including separation anxiety to point that she injured herself at home while in a frantic state. Brian and the team always found space for her to come to daycare, even around the holidays, and they created a loving space for her when she couldn't be at our house alone. When she passed, they were as heartbroken as we were. When we got our next dog, a shy little beagle, they gave him a place to play, to run, and have fun with other dog. He starts jumping and wagging his tail in the parking lot when we arrive and he always comes home sleepy. About six months ago, a tiny Yorkshire Terrier with a big personality was basically living at Dog Holiday Resort because his owner could no longer care for him, but Brian didn't want him to end up in a shelter. Thank goodness for that, because that little dog is also now a part of our family, and he loves Dog Holiday Resort too. This dog has the energy of a puppy and even though he has a playmate at home, nothing tires him out like a day at dog daycare. We've boarded our dogs at Dog Holiday Resort, when we've traveled for holidays and family emergencies, and they always receive great care. They go out of their way to help the rescue community too - a local rescue (incidentally, the same one where we got our beagle) - often boards dogs at Dog Holiday Resort while they line up foster care. Having gone through the adoption process with them and their background check process, they are extremely careful about placing their dogs with anyone - they would not be placing dogs with Dog Holiday Resort if they didn't think it was a top-notch place. read more

Dog holiday and resort has been wonderful for our dog's. Especially when our sweet Lilly was alive. She was deaf and they took extra special care with her. Also when we moved into our mew house they were wonderful with our 4 cat's and our dog Sandy who was missing Lilly terrible. Having a place like this makes our time away so much better. Brian and the team at Dog Holiday Resort have been wonderful to our dogs. We have been taking our dogs there for 7+ years. We have a very shy black lab that we could not get near anyone - and met with the Dog Holiday team 2 months before needing to travel. We decided the on a plan to bring our shy timid dog in a few times a week for doggy daycare to make sure he was settled in advance of our trip. 7 years later, my still shy timid dog get excited when he realized we are headed to Dog Holiday. He jumps out of the car and runs to the door of the building and whines to be let in. The dog holiday team treats him like their own. read more

We are so glad to have found this doggie daycare. A local doggie daycare was careless and play stardog with 35 animals in a play area. They made us come and get our dog and labeled him as not portable because he got very anxious with that many animals. I called dog holiday resort and they not only spent time finding out why this had happened but wanted to give him a chance and we are so glad they did. for the first time in my dog's life he was tired and went to sleep in the car. He is a rescue and has had lots of anxiety with cars since being thrown out of one. Him sleeping is a huge indicator that they get lots of play and are very happy when picked up. We did not find any of the previous negative replies that I've been left in years past as being remotely the way that we experienced. We highly recommend this facility and their staff read more

I couldn't have been more disappointed thank I was this morning, so much so that I left just short of our actual tour. 1) the website makes it seem like they have a bunch of play-yards. They don't, they have small play AREAS within the warehouse-structure, which weren't even big enough to run in. 2) the place is also not air-conditioned, there were some big fans around, but seriously? and what about at night when you have to close the big doors? 3) I watched through the window for a full 5 mins (maybe longer) waiting for someone to give me a tour and saw no human interaction with the dogs , just groups of dogs wandering around some of the play areas. one chick walked around with a camera taking photos of some of the dogs. 4) the in-ground pool is built and filled, but the rest of the yard isn't ready and a huge chuck of wall is still under construction- it's just not "finished". which means there is 1 area that is maybe 20x20 with astroturf outside, full of playground equipment, unsheltered for the dogs to potty "outside". yikes. I may check on this place in a year and see if they have evolved, but as of now, am actually kindof angry that I took 25 min each way for this place that was supposed to be awesome, when really it's just the "awesome vision" on the website and the execution is shoddy at best. read more

I took my schnauzer mix to Dog Holiday Resort on a Groupon and can easily say this was a great experience! The groomer did an excellent job on Riley, who can be pretty squirmy at the groomers. The facility also does doggie day car and boarding, using large individual fenced off areas rather than any cages. The cattery is separate from the dogs, so the kitties will be happy to be there, too. The place is spotless and the staff is proud of their new business. The dogs being boarded or there for day care were well occupied with each other and supervised by staff, and had lots of toys and interesting things to do. Plans for the future include adding a pool for the dogs and an aquarium for the kitties. Best of all, they spotted a minor medical problem with my dog that I hadn't seen myself. I'm grateful that they were experienced enough to see what I didn't and professional enough to call me immediately. They even called my cellphone the next day to make sure my little guy was okay! I'm a fan and will definitely be returning for regular grooming services. I'd also consider boarding Riley here, if the need ever presents itself. read more

My dog is my child, so I'm very picky about who I leave him with. Dog Holiday Resort did not disappoint! My beloved Pit mix is a cranky old man who doesn't always get along with other dogs. As it turns out, Amanda was able to work magic! My boy was able to run and play with other dogs- and I am in awe. Not only did they take the time to put my mind at ease during a busy holiday, but they took the time to get to know my dog. The facility is clean and obviously the staff is amazing. My favorite part is that there's even a space where the dogs can laze on a sofa and watch TV, just like at home! read more

Had to board Oakley because of having to go out of town for a funeral. Made arrangements with Dog Holiday Resort. I was fearful that he'd be in "solitary confinement" for his 4 day stay because I thought he might get "snarly". However, I was told he did just fine. He'll be going back again soon because we have a wedding to attend & we'll get him groomed then too. After that, I may try doggy daycare once or twice a month to keep him socialized. Great place! Got a Groupon for the facility after looking at their website. Very misleading. The play yard is approximately 15 x 15 with a child's play house and a kiddie pool! My dogs love daycare but couldn't wait to leave. I am not even using the rest of the package I paid for. read more

I cannot recommend this place enough! I have an aussie/blue heeler mix who absolutely loves it there! He has been there for day care, boarding, and grooming, all of which have been wonderful. He doesn't like having his nails trimmed he jerks a lot and usually his quick gets nipped (kind of unavoidable). However, here, they wait until he's been playing all day so he's good and tired out and they do a wonderful job! No snags or cracks in his claws at all and no painful quick! They can tell me who he's played with and they have good monitoring systems to watch the dogs at all times. I was referred to them by Molly Stone at the Wake County ASPCA and I am so glad she referred me! They are an amazing group who really care about the dogs. My dog hadn't had enough socialization and was a little wary, but they eased him into being with the others so he would have the best experience and he has really come out of his shell! TL;DR, wonderful facility, amazing people, and excellent care. read more

Our golden/border collie, Verona, desperately needed a grooming. We weren't sure where to go and just did some research. So glad that we found Dog Holiday Resort. They were very attentive to our desires and Verona came out looking so much better than we had imagined. They took great care of her, and she is an anxious dog, but she loved it and did great. I highly recommend this place, especially for grooming (they also have boarding and so much more)! The facility is set back, so we would have never known about it had we not researched. The staff was very nice and really took care of Verona and us! Will definitely be returning again! read more

We couldn't be happier with Dog Holiday and the staff. I don't need to know anything more than how excited my pup gets when we turn down the street. He practically pushes me out of the car so he can meet his other pup friends. He spends most of the day with me so it is a real treat when he comes here to socialize with the other dogs. Although my dog doesn't love getting a bath, he gets groomed here and always comes out perfect! And as for the swimming pool - beyond LOVES it! Great rate for the service they provide. read more

TERRIBLE!! Do not send your dog here. If it was possible to give zero stars, we would! We made a reservation for our dog to stay over Christmas, and they called an hour after we dropped him off (when we were at the airport!) saying we had to pick him up. Supposedly he could open the latches on their kennels (which are supposed to be "state of the art") and they couldn't think of any solutions- like a lock or a tie. Bear in mind, I let them know he was good at opening doors when we toured the facility and they assured me it wouldn't be a problem. It was! I suspect they had a waiting list, since it was a holiday, and just didn't want to deal with a "high Maintainance" dog. Every other boarding facility was already full and we were forced to change our travel plans. It cost us hundreds of dollars and a huge headache. All of this aside, they were very disorganized when we dropped him off- tons of boarding papers were mixed up on the desk, they didn't look at any vaccination records or his papers, my dog had an e collar and meds and they did not keep them together. Needless to say, I would never go back and would caution anyone who is looking to use this facility. It may look nice and new but it is a HUGE disappointment. read more

We love this place! We have two dogs - a two year old Golden Retriever and a three year old Lab - and we were lucky enough to stumble on this place. We have boarded our 'kids' there twice now and our dogs also go to doggy day care a couple of days a week. We could not be more impressed with the care and love our dogs receive from all the staff. It is so nice to go pick up your dogs and actually talk with someone who knows who your dogs are, what their personalities are like, and can tell you what they have done that day. I took my schnauzer to this facility for grooming and had an encounter with the owner who had the worst attitude. It was somewhat surprising considering this is a new business and the goal would be to increase clientele. When I walked in to pick up my dog, she was on the phone engaged in a personal conversation and did not put the call on hold to provide service, collect my money as payment and retrieve my dog. She also added an additonal fee to my bill without consulting with me first. I will never return to this dog facility again. And I'm sure with continued service such as this, it won't be in business very long. read more

Dog Holiday is fantastic! He goes to their doggie daycare at least 2 days a week where he comes home tired after a full day of playing! They are very flexible and have helped us out on multiple occasions when we were running late. When we have boarded him there they take great care of him. We miss him when we leave but know that we do not have to worry about him! We attended their obedience class which helped immensely with his manners. Overall they are just great people who treat our dog like he is their own! read more

I run a local rescue and I needed to board not only my foster dogs for a week, but 4 of my personal dogs as well. I have tried numerous daycare/boarding facilities and have always found them to be under staffed and inadequate. Dog Holiday Resort is the exception!!!! From the day I dropped off my dogs ( and I was late) they were professional and friendly. Assured me that all my dogs were in great hands, and they were. Two dogs got groomed and two had nail trims free of charge (WHO DOES THAT?) Dog Holiday DOES!!! My dogs never looked better and happier anywhere else. I am very happy with the friendly staff and will always bring my fosters and personal dogs there. I think they are awesome and by far the best daycare/boarding and grooming facility in our area. Our dog was a regular daily doggie daycare customer with Dog Holiday Resort until a four day boarding stay on the weekend of 6/14/15. While under their care, he ingested something that made him deathly sick. Their staff had no idea that there was a medical problem. When I picked him up from boarding, he didn't act normally but the staff said that they had just fed him and that he was OK. When I brought him home ( a 10 minute ride), he was crying, desperate for water, and had horrific diarrhea. The diarrhea lasted for more than a week. Our dog was hospitalized, suffered, and had several medical tests and procedures to determine the cause of the diarrhea which was unresponsive to the vet prescribed diarrhea meds. Our total veterinarian bill for this incident was $3400. Although their staff is friendly, they did not provide a safe, supervised environment for our dog. Also, the fact that they did not have any idea that there was a medical problem is unforgivable and troubling on several different levels- adequate staff:dog staffing ratios to properly supervise the dogs; and, necessary personnel training for their staff up be able to identify a medical problem when a dog is in distress. The staff's response that "they didn't notice anything wrong" does not absolve them of their responsibility to provide a safe environment for our dog. Also, "We didn't see anything" is not an acceptable explanation. Clearly, our experience was every dog owner's worst nightmare as " the dog that we entrusted to them was not the dog that we picked up". read more
