The process would've taken less than a minute. I wasn't offered to even be put on hold for a moment while she helped people up front.

She had been a regular at our old vet for nine years, and a couple of other vets in the area actually turned us down. Thankfully, we found Country View. They are very accommodating, and every employee we've encountered has had a wonderful attitude. They treat our dog amazingly, and the receptionists are extremely communicative. Our dog also had a small operation done here, and it went very smoothly. The doctor was very helpful in educating us on everything they would do with our dog, and the vet tech she was with the day of her surgery was very caring. I could truly go on and on about how great she was. She made sure our dog was comfortable the entire day of surgery, from drop-off to pick-up time.

Two years…read moreago we had to have an elderly chihuahua put to sleep and brought her to VCA in Kankakee, and it was a very calm and easy 2-shot procedure, while I held her, for about $200. I pleaded with Country View to do it as quickly as possible when I got there today since my dog was experiencing a great deal of anxiety. They required I listen to the cremation sales pitch first and pay in full, over $300, before they would begin. Then they said they would take him in back for one injection, then wait for him to get sleepy so they could insert an IV port into his leg. I questioned this procedure but they said it's how they always do it. So they took him away and brought him back to me even more stressed. After a few minutes he relaxed in my lap but then began choking and coughing. He struggled to breathe for a good 10 minutes until they came in to lay him on the table and shave his leg and put in the port. They kept giving him saline for what seemed like forever, then finally gave him the lethal meds. In a long lifetime of having pets I have never been more disappointed in a veterinary clinic and will never go back.

Money is better spent elsewhere. I haven't been treated this poorly by a business in a very long time. The groom took 90 minutes longer than expected, and I was not updated about a delay. The owner's response to my frustration about the timing was defensive, blaming of me and my pet, and took no responsibility for her company's delay in service. Who treats their customers this way? Finally, the groom was not done to completion as the fur around the face and neck was not groomed at all.

Kayla was so kind and helpful over the phone, it reassured me. Thankfully, over Sunday night Peach ate and used box. Even though I didn't need to take him in to the clinic, they were so kind and compassionate, I know where I will take my cats if I have an emergency.

Some puffed up admittedly unlicensed male "Beau" got on the phone - and did the same talking over you routine. His speaker listener obligation, really fell through the phone - yelling, yet not listening to me the owner of the patient. He admitted having no license in anything. HAve spent thousands there, and brought 4 or 5 pets there. Have never run in to such an unprofessional needy employee like this anywhere. One of my pets was mis-diagnosed there a couple of years ago - no apology or refund. I do have a professional license in a healthcare field - No one is perfect - but the failure to accept my pet for treatment and deal with the youngster's failure to handle the call like an adult - instead of a nasty cry baby - was so bad, it was almost hilarious, it was handled so poorly. Have spent thousands there and whoever this "Beau" guy is, has to go. It's completely unprofessional to act like a brat. This isn't how a professional healthcare provider should behave. They are losing patients due to an attitude issue. Not to mention that they had no pain relief RX for both of my cats that had dental procedures done on the same day once.. There are techs and 2 particular docs there that we love - but we aren't going to be treated like we were treated not too long ago. Just being open and honest. Beau would not sllow me to talk to a vet - which would have been the first appropriate thing to do.

We have had an overall great experience with the dog den. We've been taking our dog there for about…read morea year and a half now. He's a large (~80 lbs) coonhound who is fine around other dogs, but has some anxiety challenges with people. He's also real loud and tends to make lots of noise when he's left alone. He's boarded there a bunch of times, once for over a week. We always include the day care option for him, which is an extra cost but worth it for him to have the outdoor time (they have a fenced area that I believe they use specifically for day care) and socialization with other dogs. This is the only place we've boarded him, but we tried some other day care options in town and have been happiest with the Dog Den. The staff there knows what they're doing with our dog, and it's helped us to feel confident leaving him there. He started off feeling very nervous during drop-off, but now is excited to go and knows exactly what to do. I've seen some negative reviews about experience with staff there. The guy in charge is direct, which sometimes comes off as gruff. I get the impression he likes dogs more than people, and frankly I'm totally fine with that because he knows his stuff around dogs. I've seen him directly correct some staff behavior that made my dog uncomfortable (see anxiety mentioned above), simply by quickly observing his body language and understanding his specific needs. Other places have failed in this where the Dog Den succeeded. That's not to say the other staff there performs poorly, I've always been extremely happy with everyone there (he LOVES Carly- she's amazing and I hereby advocate for her raise). Just that my dog, like many dogs, has some specific needs. We'll continue to recommend the dog den for both day care and boarding, even though it's sort of out of the way for us. In my experience, their staff has shown to be very competent and professional with the animals in their care.
