BEWARE OF TICKS Until recently, this was our favorite dog park. The dogs are friendly and owners are always nearby. Not sure if it's the Monsoon season or water spots in the park. We spend most of the time killing mosquitoes on ourselves. Although our dogs were having fun, it was too much mosquitoes to ignore. We left after 20 minutes. Highly recommend spray Repellent. When we got home, and I was taking the harness off our dogs, I discovered a TICK on one of them. Our dogs were just groomed DAYS before the park. This is the only place they've been since groomed. Please take the time to check your pets after visiting this park.

My dog really enjoyed the liberty of running freely and playing with many types of dog personalities. This is an outstanding dog park, it has to be the biggest dog park in the phoenix area, it's HUGE. Dogs truly have an opportunity to run far, hard and roam. During the hour we we there We had a total of 15 dogs come through. Every one of the dogs played well and the owners were nice and attentive to there dog and friendly with other pet owners. The park was cleaner then any other dog park i have been to in phx and i've been to a minimum of 5. It had water spout, buckets of water all over the park, shade and it was well fenced, gated and secured. Regarding bugs, issues with dogs and owners, it has been my experience that this is general worry and issue everywhere. Give your dog the opportunity to stretch his mind and legs.

It's usually an okay park and I come here often, but tonight I encountered a women in the small dog park with what she said and I quote " aggressive pitbull". I explain that this is the "small" dog park for a reason. She started off by saying she volunteers here and she has every right to bring her dog here. I'm utterly confused. Has anyone else seen her here?

The black and white dog in this photo attacked my dog on November 4, 2018. If you see him I would remove your dog from the park.

We have been going to this dog park for many years. We were there on November 3, 2018 and a black and white pit bull mix attached our dachshund. He was very aggressive when we entered the park and we watched him twice fight with other dogs. When we were leaving he came charging over and grabbed our dog by the neck and pinned her. It took several minutes to get him off of our dog. Our dog has required medical care and the owner is not responding to our calls. I posted a picture of the dog.

Sedona and Payson are beginning to tolerate other dogs thanks to THIS dog park. They're 5 month old rescue doggies and they were terrified of other dogs. It has been my experience that the dogs here are very playful, tolerant, and accepting of most any dog, even my puppies! There's even a dog park click it seems, regulars that come just about everyday and let their dogs socialize together. Do NOT be intimidated, I wasn't. If you just grab an open chair and sit down they will soon engage you in the conversation. I LOVE that there is GRASS! Can you believe it? And there is actually TWO separate dog parks. One for large (any) type of dog and another for ONLY small dogs. There is water available but it's a good idea to bring your own water container. All of the entrances/exits are double gated to prevent any wild pups from escaping. It has been my experience at the small dog park that the owners are very diligent (and judgmental of others ;) about picking up pet's feces. It seems like there are more "land mines" in the 'large dog' area but this is probably because it is soooo much larger and it probably difficult to spot a hurried, squatting dog. FYI: Beware though, I was told that a number of years ago there were people bringing their dogs to the dog park just to fight other dogs?!?!! I know terrible. BUT just like most circumstances in life, you must be AWARE of your surroundings and PAY ATTENTION to who is coming and going. I have NOT had any problems personally and have REALLY enjoyed letting my doggies tire themselves out!

My new favorite dog park! Pros: 1) For a dog park, It's pretty! It has lots of big trees lining the perimeter which are also great when its hot out and youre seeking a bit of shade. 2) Its big! There's lots of space for big dogs to run around and play and If you have a little one, there's a decent, shaded, small dog fenced in area at the back. 3) Big parking lot Cons: 1) Stay clear of the areas near the fence...its often dotted with poop that naughty owners 'forgot' to pick up. The rest of the park is normally really well kept and poop- free. 2) Not many chairs or places to sit

It's fun for me to see all the different types of breeds that come here. Most of the pups are well behaved. I've seen a couple times some negligent owners on their phones so spaced out, don't pick up their dogs poop or watch what their dogs are doing, but as far as dog parks go- it's the best for not having to stress that something negative will happen. I've been to other dog parks in the area that just had bad vibes. This one is nice and happy. It's as clean as a dog park can be, they do regular maintenance to the grounds, and there is a huge parking lot. It's also nice to walk the dogs in that area as well. My boys love it here and I'm happy to take them. Important to note- check the hours on certain days since they do the maintenance and close the parks. I've shown up a couple times forgetting about this and it was closed, so we just went for a nice walk instead.

It's nice they try to put in the effort to keep the park clean, which I appreciate. There are plenty of garbage cans for waste, which makes it easy to keep things tidy. Unfortunately some people don't pick up after their dogs. The park seems more dirty after the weekends, because more dogs are there Saturday and Sunday so more opportunities for people to not clean up after their dogs. Come on people, keep an eye on your pup and do the right thing!!! I do wish there were more trees or shaded spots out in the grass for the pups during the hotter months -- it can get pretty toasty out there. The picnic tables are under a shade structure, which is good. It would awesome if they could plant more trees. Every now and then, you'll see someone with a larger but mellow dog in the small dog area, but honestly, they all seem well-behaved and gentle, just a bit shy around the bigger dogs. There have been quite a few flies, but that seems to be more of a general outdoor issue everywhere, not specific to the park. Hopefully as the weather cools the flies go away. Overall, it's a good place for friendly, social dogs to run, play, and make new friends. Worth visiting if you're looking for dog park in the area.
