We have loved roadrunner for years for their big playground and farmers market, but their recent refresh is awesome! They completely redid the lake. The walking path is gorgeous, and they added in nice bathrooms and handwashing stations! I love the addition of the pickleball courts (and of course tennis!). Still would like to see the pool open, but I'm happy to report that roadrunner is a beautiful park to take the family! We like spending sunsets there. read more

Love the farmers market here! Nice park. It definitely gets busy. It's big but the playground isn't too big. Love the duck pond. My husband and I were worried it would smell weird but it didn't! Fun to walk around! They also have a lap pool which is cool! Will continue to come here with our son! read more

Updated review: the court surface is getting worse. Someone has filled in cracks w grout/cement and done a good job, but two of the four courts suffer for odd bounces. Secondly, lighting on two of the four courts is noticeably worse. These are the original ones the city installed decades ago. Does anyone know who the city council person for this area is? read more

Overall this park is very nice - good playground, lake is cool with lots of ducks, lots of open spaces, basketball/volleyball. Feels safe. One star off for the bathrooms - more are locked than functional and despite being brand new - reek! They need a good wash down with bleach. read more

It's a great park for a Saturday Farmers Market, pickleball, fishing, run/walk around the park. It can get really busy on the weekends. There are plenty of parking spaces. They do have a public pool as well. read more

This is a larger than average park well located at Cactus and 36th st. There's tennis, basketball, baseball courts, swimming pool, soccer field. Pluses: Large park, police patrolled, various sports fields, pool, plenty of parking, excellent mountain views south and west. Minuses: Alot of trash, very rundown facilities need replacing, poor maintenance. I saw several city workers just standing around while a nice community volunteer was picking up the trash. The city workers are paid well and should do this as well instead of just standing around. Recommended park. read more

We love roadrunner Park! So much so that we ended up moving here a few years ago (only a couple houses away takes 2 minutes to walk). Plenty of parking, lots of activities (not only on the weekends either), and there is much to do for everyone. The kids love the playground almost as much as my wife loves our picnics in the open grass! Go for a brisk walk around the 1 mile loop, go fishing in the large pond, jump around on the playground, go visit the farmers market on Saturday mornings, relax in the open field, watch the teams play soccer or baseball. Lots to do at this beautiful park! Go visit! read more

This park will be great once they finish renovating it. Right now there are many construction zone areas and the pond is being renovated. Ducks have been relocated to the swimming pool. You can still walk around but the grass is mostly dead and the restrooms are also being renovated. read more

This park was suggested to me by one of my local tour guides to fulfill my requirement of finding a Pokémon GO raid every day. There was generally lots of parking here at the various times I visited but one of the day had an event of some kind and about 50% of the parking was occupied. Fortunately I managed to get parking spaces close enough to interaction distance with applicable Pokémon GO gyms from the parking lot so I didn't have to get out of the car. It fulfilled the requirement of what I came here for. Based on my observation of other people's behavior here there are other regular players here, but I avoided interacting with them to the best of my ability. read more

The park is a good space to meet but feels unsafe in the evening. None of the lights in the pavilions are working, so unless you are by the tennis and volleyball courts, there is very little lighting. It really needs to be repaired now that it is dark earlier. read more

It's a park, what else do you expect? It's green, pretty clean, very good for Pokémon GO (and maybe the stray Ingress) player, there's a geocache. Heck, the play structure is good to pile up in with your friends. Just don't be here after the park closes. Police patrol the area every now and again and I have been shooed away with my friends a couple times. read more

The park of my childhood. The park has a pond in the center and I can't even think about how much bread and popcorn I've fed them over the years. It was fun as a kid, but even better as an adult. (Free and semi-romantic date when done right before/during sunset) There are lit basketball and tennis courts. They also have soccer and baseball fields (aka Kickball) that are well lit too. And of course, real sand volleyball courts. I made mini-sand castles there once. But really the highlight as a kid was the pool. Growing up it was 35 cents to swim, and that was the best 35 cents you could ever spend. I know it's gone up a bit since then, but I believe it's only about a dollar. When I was a kid, the best part was the snack bar. You needed an extra quarter for a locker (and a space on ya to keep your key) and some change for the snack bar because you were not a real kid in north Phoenix until you sat on your towel, dripping from the pool and ate your freshly purchased Fun Dip. I'm sure it's the same for these kids. They also have just about the only Farmers Market in North Phoenix on Saturday mornings. It's not huge, but based on the time of the year there can be some interesting stuff. It's not huge, but it's culture for North Phoenix. Lots of green trees, good parking and being close to a freeway access makes this an awesome spot just about any time of the year. read more

This is a solid community park. There are play structures, sport areas (basketball, volleyball, baseball, soccer), pond w/ urban fishing, trees for hammocks/slacklines, outdoor pagodas, and open space to frolic and play. Lots of families come here to BBQ and celebrate. It stays clean throughout the year, and people are pretty good about cleaning after themselves. There's an awesome community farmers market every Saturday from 6 to noon or so. I live 5-6 blocks away, and feel very lucky to have roadrunner park so close by. read more

The park of my adulthood. I play basketball here a couple times per week, although that might get put on hiatus since the temperature has recently moved into "um, no" territory. The hoops have the bounciest rims ever in life, but you learn to deal. On a Sunday night, the crowd is the strangest ethnic mix, from Mexican to Irish to Arab to Italian to people like me, somewhere in between. I can't say much for the talent. A lot of guys play like their girlfriends are watching, shooting every time they touch the ball. It's still good fun. The Saturday farmer's market here is pretty cool, too. I can score a bag of banana chips for a dollar! It's my weekly vice. read more

Family friendly. Goose and Duck sh*t everywhere on the pavement and grass. People don't pick up their dogs sh*t either which is common problem here in Arizona I have noticed. Community pool seems ok but I would never swim in it. A lot of obese people come here to sit with their kids. What a great park! So much space it could never be too crowded. Little pond with ducks and turtles, my daughter had a blast! Very family friendly, has lots of tables and charcoal grills too. Nice clean busy park. Here for the farmers market this morning. Still a little hot to really peruse and stroll, but a wonderful adventure just the same. I have been coming to this park at 5:30 in the morning for a few weeks now. My girlfriend is getting certified as a yoga instructor and wanted to practice with a few friends. I didn't realize that at that time the area is considered sketchy, until one of my other girlfriends told me so. I decided to stop coming so early. I was arriving around 5:15 and there were a couple of cars parked at a weird angle. The park in general is ok. It does not work for me and the twins since there is a pond. I took my twins once and my little boy almost jumped in the water. That was too stressful. I am going to miss the yoga, but I am not sure I will come back for a park visit. read more

If you just like to go to the park and play sports or just hangout, then it is a good park for families and friends! However, if you are here to fish, like myself, then this park isn't the best park around Phoenix. The pond is quite dirty and small. I fished here last Sunday for a good 3 hours but no sign of a bite or anything. Since it a pretty vast park and is filled with people, the fish might be scared and won't bite. Plus the restroom is disgusting, without a door nor toilet paper. Again, good park but not so good of a fishing spot. read more

I love this park! My wife and I come here on Saturdays to go to the farmers market and then eat breakfast by the pond (sometimes we even see turtles!). The only downside is there are always unsupervised kids throwing things at the ducks! Get your kids under control people!! read more

I've been to this park a few times and it is always very run down. The playground equipment is not in the best shape and is very dirty. The sand is also pretty gross with lots of trash and debris. The picnic tables are falling apart and there isn't much shade. Even the pond looks yucky at times. This park was rated one of the best places to play PokemonGo in AZ. Every night you can find 20-40 people roaming the park searching for the best Pokemon out there. Many people bring their kids and their dogs to play as they walk around the pond or around the volleyball courts. Great place to be if you want to catch them all! read more
