The Music Space fills a void badly needed in Owatonna. It's a small record shop and live music…read morevenue. It's been open less than a year, but the rustic downtown location makes you feel like you've gone back in time 40 years. I had no idea exactly what or where it was. Then one day this summer I was walking out of a downtown bagel shop when I was drawn to the sound of great music filling the street from the next block down. It's got a very comfortable feel. At least in part because they have a couch! The couch sits behind a ew rows of chairs that all face a small stage at the back of the store. The owner's connections allow him to bring in a wide range of artists that wouldn't normally come to Owatonna to do an intimate show. A couple other locations have been used when a larger venue was need. Thursday nights are a sort of 'live mic' when anyone serious can perform for free This is a really cool place that's worth checking out.

I've eaten lunch here a few times and I really don't have any problems with the food. I've had their pizza before and I was impressed. Good ingredients and a quality thin crust. On my most recent visit I had a ham and swiss panini with fries. The taste of the panini was fine but I thought there could have been more ham. The fries were very good. Just enough crispiness and mildly seasoned. Unfortunately the thing I remember most from each visit is sub-par service. My server was very nice but didn't know what beers they had on tap. When I was done eating I waited at least five minutes to get the bill and this was the first time I'd been approached since my food was delivered. In her defense, she was probably new and over-worked. She was the only one I saw doing anything. The prices were standard. The food is good but not great. My overall impression is that it's adequate.

Then wanted fruit instead of fries, usually get two or three different kinds of fruit, grapes, cantaloupe and honey dew melon , got only the honeydew melon, ugh.. so frustrating.

We ordered duck wonton which everyone love and would recommend and drck wings. Wings had good flavor but skin was not crisp at all. We all ordered a variety of entrees all thought the tasted pretty good. Dessert was ordered. The biggest hit was the banana cake that we all tasted and one said he would make the hr + drive just for this. It is worth a stop if in the area, differently better than the normal chain restaurants that dot the interstate. Also if you need to wet your whistle, their alcohol choices will not disappoint

Generally I like Torey's but the last few times their service has been lacking. The most recent time I went was because their facebook said they had a seafood night when I went I was told they didn't have any crab, shrimp, or salmon. There is a clear disconnect in communication as a whole with Torey's. (Or they just lie about having crab)
