At first we were communicating by talking across the room, seems a little unprofessional. Once we told them what we wanted they told me that another groomer is coming in at 4 and she will be the one handling the grinding (it was like 3 minutes from 4 o'clock), so we took Rocky out and went to look at some food. We had him on Blue Wilderness (Salmon) but the vet told us to maybe switch it up to another brand that is limited ingredients since he does have allergies. We were looking through the store and only found a handful of brands that I would actually feed my dog. We decided not to purchase our food here because 1. The vet suggested Taste of the Wild (which they did not have), and 2. We felt the food they provided was not up to par with someone we would want to give him. By this time, it was already after 4. About 4:10. So we walk back to the grooming area, and there she is (about to call us). Anyways, we leave him there and I took the receipt - which I had to ask for so I could pay - to the register. There was only one register open (out of the three they have) and I was the third in line, which is not a huge wait for me. But it was a holiday week, and fairly busy... Anyways, after a few minutes another register opens up but two people hop in that line. After what seemed like forever - my line started to move - YAY! But the person in front of us, had quite a few items to purchase and the cashier was complaining about how slow the computer was... We decided to move to another register (which had two other people), but actually went quicker than the first one we were in. I check in on YELP and received a $5 coupon for the salon, so I show them and it felt as if they have never seen this coupon before. The gentleman working did not know how to put the coupon in, so he grabbed another employee and she was a little confused so they got a manager. I would think that if they have a coupon out, they would make sure their employees know how to ring them in correctly - or at least know about the coupon. Anyways, I saw Rocky getting lowered so I told my fiance to grab him while I finish and pay. This whole time, the first register STILL had the same guy... I would think being a couple days before a holiday they would be well prepared and staffed accordingly. We ended up going to another pet store to buy his food, which is a little more expensive but healthier and better ingredients. I think next time we will go to another pet groomer and see if they are better. P.S. I have been here several times, and this is the worst visit. They are usually quicker and less of a hassle.

My dog looked like a goat when she came out of that place and the excuse from them was that my pet didn't want them to trim her! Anywhere else I took her had no problem but that PetSmart Groomery is a joke!! To top it off she handed me a bill for $65 for itSo the next day I spoke to the store manager who refunded my money and offered me free treats to make up for the way me and my pet were treated. He said he would take care of the grooming manager too and I hope he fired her stupid azz.

Sometimes, they're spendier and so I am buying stuff from PetSmart. This one is closest to home and it's a good store. Organized, prices are clearly marked and there's almost always plenty of the specific food that my fur babies like. There's also usually a deal. The store is clean and bright. The staff here are kind and helpful. And you can bring your dog with you to shop. Not that I would - Phoebe is a handful outside the house! Grooming services= Negative stars. You get what you pay for. Pretty sure they allow anyone with no…read moretraining or dog knowledge whatsoever to groom. My own fault for trying to save some money this time and took my pup there for a full groom. Got very unlucky with the groomer that was available that day. First red flag-- they did not contact me to come pick my dog up for over 6 hours. If you don't have time to provide adequate service in adequate time, do not accept more appointments in the first place! When I came to pick said dog up, all groomers were standing outside on the sidewalk rippin a heater. So I had to wait for their smoke break to be over for several minutes before anyone came inside to assist. Cut was subpar-- could barely tell anything was done. Whatever, fine. I had already made up my mind that this was the last time coming here. Fast forward two days later and my dog is yelping the most high pitched scream I've ever heard her do as something brushed against her leg. When I tried to look at it more closely, she yelped more and proceeded to run away and hide in the closet. I knew something was really wrong. Vet visit next day + X-rays because the screams were so bad that I assumed something had to be broken. She had to be sedated as no one could come anywhere near her leg without her losing it. Scan showed some inflammation around joints and potential tears but could not be confirmed without more advanced equipment. Home with mild pain meds and ordered to rest. Few days later, meds seem to have kicked in enough to where dog is allowing me to more closely inspect her leg area. As I do, I'm able to feel down deeper into the fur with my fingertips. It's then that I notice bumps, scabs and lesions. Bring her back to vet next day for them to examine because I suspect that these skin irritations are actually the source of pain, NOT the inflammation or that there's potentially a ligament tear. They have to shave a big patch off her leg because the skin is infected so badly. She had a bad case of dermatitis/ hot spots that spread like wildfire. That leg area was the worst, but there were lesions and scabs all over her body. Do you know one of the main causes of this?? = Dogs becoming wet for long periods of time. As in when unskilled groomers wash a dog and leave them wet for hours without drying them which I'm betting money-- is what happened here in this long winded story!! Irresponsible. Cost me over $1k in vet bills and meds to treat this. And was obviously super painful for my dog. In summary if you're still reading lol--- DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG TO THIS DUMP FOR GROOMING SERVICES. And no, I'm not going to name names because honestly like I said-- I think they just hire anyone. And that young woman couldn't care less nor does this store. She's probably working at dollar tree next door now (no shade I love that store). My point being, naming them is useless. And that concludes tonight's bedtime story. Sleep well, kids!

Skip to today for my appointment...I arrived and no one was in the grooming station so I pressed the button that said "press here for assistance" and waited and nothing. Pressed it again a few minutes later and waited and nothing. Then, a cashier from the front of the store comes in and asked if I had an appointment and I said that I did and was told that I could drop my dog off early. He then went to go find someone who worked in the grooming department and they came in saying that they didn't open until 9 and that she had to get the computers "turned on and ready to go". I said I'd not be waiting because I was already over it and her attitude was less than welcoming. My wife decided to go back in and take him and the groomer told her this time that "because my dog was in the system as a Boxer mix" that he'd have to be picked up immediately following his appointment 45 minutes after we dropped him off. Again, we had tickets to an event for my sons birthday which is why we asked to drop our dog off early in the first place. Anyway, she told us that because he was a "Boxer mix" that they had breathing issues and they weren't allowed to be crated in the back. 1) That is the furthest thing from the truth as I've seen Boxer mixed dogs there before. 2) Our dog had been going to that location for the last 3 years. We ended up having to go back home with our dog because they refused to take our dog and provide the service we had scheduled and have had done for THREE YEARS. Don't waste your time with this location. They are always rude and never accommodating.

Until today, I have never had any issues. When I arrived to drop off my dog, River, for his grooming appointment, I was told I needed to provide updated rabies vaccination records, which I would have to obtain from my vet. Unfortunately, the vet's office was closed. My groomer, Kayla, explained that she was legally unable to groom him without that information, which I completely understand. I went back to my car, searched my phone for any record, and returned to let them know I did not have it. I also explained that I had not been informed beforehand that his updated rabies information was missing from your records. At that point, another staff member chimed in from the back and very rudely stated that this information had been included in a text. The way she spoke was unprofessional and dismissive. If important information like rabies records is required, it should be clearly communicated in a separate, direct message--not hidden at the bottom of a general confirmation text. Instead of showing understanding or kindness, this employee was disrespectful and showed no sense of customer service. The entire encounter was unpleasant, and I left feeling frustrated. When I spoke with the manager, all I was told was that she would "speak to the employee." That is not enough to address the situation. This experience has completely changed my view of your company, and I will no longer be bringing my business here. It's disappointing to see a place I trusted for years show such a lack of professionalism, courtesy, and basic customer care. I will never return here to any location and I advise nobody else does either. Specifically this address is: 7601 Pineville-Matthews Rd Charlotte NC You've lost a loyal customer and left me with nothing good to share in support.
