I went in for a quick restock on a couple supplies with my very curious but sweet fur baby. I was greeted while coming in with her and the kind associate behind the counter offered a treat and friendly pets to my dog. As I was shopping, my dog's thunder tail knocked over a porcelain Christmas mug on display and unfortunately it shattered. As I explained what happened to the associates around, they were very understanding and even gave me a bag of treats for free too. I told them I was more than willing to pay for the mug and they told me not to worry about it. I wish I had gotten the names of the associates but thank you to who I interacted with today and know that I'll be back to shop (and of course will take more caution when turning the corners with my wild fur child!) read more

Their management team at this location is horrible. Ordered a same day delivery order via the app, out of this location. Sarah who I spoke with stated "I can't see anything in my system, you placed an order somewhere else and it should be out for delivery today". After explaining the situation, and receiving less than desirable responses I asked for a manager. She immediately said "I'm speaking". I had to purchase a random bag of dog food to feed my pets the next morning due to their mistake and stores not open on Sunday evenings. No apology for the issue. No apology for their mistake. Nothing. Just "I don't know and I don't know what you want me to tell you." Sarah needs to go through customer service training if she is in management. I advised her she needs to check into the status of the order and get back to me. Reporting her less than appropriate management skills to corporate and will be doing business elsewhere. First and last time coming here! First time taking my bruno to get a haircut and it was not what i expected.they told us around 4 hours and when i go get my dog his hair wasnt even cut and their excuse was that he would growl at them and wouldnt let himself, i have a Yorkie mixed with Chihuahua all he does is bark he wont ever bite anyone to me this was an unexplainable reason to not cut his hair if they are so called professional. The main reason i took him there was because i trusted they could do it better and Brunos hair in the front is getting in his way,Then i started reading the reviews and i also notice my dog was extremely thirsty after getting out of there. Absolutely disgusting what they do to there pets. I just bought myself a ferret 3 weeks ago and it just died because it did not have its shots, even tho they said it was up to date, I have seen what they do to their pets and it it's really disturbing to watch. They cannot just give away sick ferrets, especially if their just trying to get you to promote their store. I've only bought my dog food here so any salon services are unknown to me. The staff is friendly and helpful ( if you ask) I've never had anyone ask me how I'm doing or if I need anything. This in 7 years of shopping here. The store is clean. I like that they have adopt dogs every once in awhile. The shopper app never works when I'm there and the employees are not familiar with it and do not know how it works or how it can be fixed. They usually look at my phone and give me a free can of dog food. If I found another place that my dog's food was sold at...I'd go there instead. read more

I never leave reviews but I'm really disappointed in my most previous experience with grooming at this location. I have never had an issue after going here for years and last time I got a call saying my dog was being too difficult and they had to stop. When my brother picked him up my dog was half shaven on the back and the face wasn't done at all. Thankfully they didn't charge us but the groomer claimed he was being aggressive. When we took him home he was coughing and choking the rest of the night and very shaky. I'm not sure what happened but all I know is my dog was very frightened by his experience. He's never had a reaction like that or a problem before. I will be taking him to get groomed elsewhere from now on. I'm giving 3 stars since there hasn't been a problem before this time but I feel uncomfortable by how they most recently handled my dog. read more

Do not ever bring your dog for grooming to this facility. The staff went out of their way to not have to groom my dog (a husky). The lady with tattoos, not sure what her name is, messed up my appt so we rescheduled only for us to drive 30 mins once again to be turned away. She said they have a 15 minute grace period which we arrived within and this girl waited until the clock hit 15 minutes after and said "we'll it's 15 minutes past on our clock". Clearly unprofessional staff who have no idea what they're doing so it worked out for the best because I would NEVER trust my dog alone with them. read more

Today I took my dogs To get their normal haircut that we usually get every three months. They told me that they Would have to cut my Shih Tuz hair a little bit shorter. I told them why they normally blow dry it out and cut it in the teddy bear haircut. They told me basically the other staff that used to work there didn't know what they were doing and that they were going to be doing things the correct way. So unprofessional to talk about your own corporations former employees. When I picked him up today all of his hair was butchered off. He looks a mess he does not look like a Shih Tzu he looks like a big rat. I will be reaching out to the corporate office. Their new changes suck. My dogs will not be coming back to Petco. In the last two grooming visits at the Petco store at the Arboretum: uneven haircut, bare spots on my pet's chest.

This grooming salon is a DANGER to your pets. On 3 occasions I have not been contacted for hours that my pet was ready for pickup. My dog was in the kennel for that period of time (3 hours) when he could be out and about at home. My most recent event with this salon was for a simple bath. I checked that my number was correct and told the groomer I would have my cell with me for a quick pickup. After multiple hours I contacted the store. After a bit of shuffling they said my pet had been ready for a while. I asked why no phone call. The girl stated that they had called my cell and it went to voicemail. Interesting because there was no incoming call and my voicemails are transcribed as well as recorded. I asked who called and they couldn't tell me. I told her I would address this when I came to the store, if she could find out who called. Upon my arrival the groomer handed me the receipt for payment. I again questioned who called me as I didn't receive a call. The groomer Jordan had no clue what I was talking about. I went to pay and discuss this with the store manager. While I was waiting to pay Jordan came out with my dog and told me in fact no one called and he should have. I first asked why someone would lie to me on the phone saying that they had called when they hadn't. I attempted to explain that this was the third episode (and final one) of this occurring. Jordan just looked off into the distance and was not paying attention to me so I told him I would speak with the manager. Speaking with the manager was also a worthless effort. Rather than taking a moment to acknowledge a system problem that was brought to his attention he kept asking me if I was signed up for text messaging. Yes I was but my question here is why are you throwing this back on me even if I wasn't. If they didn't CALL ME do you think they were going to TEXT ME? I couldn't get him off this train of thought. At any rate he said he would look into it and call me back. No call backs in 2 days. I spoke with corporate customer service line. They took the information and said they would turn it over to the store manager. I told them I spoke with him and he didn't get that he had a problem. They then assured me that they were interested and would have the district manager call me Monday. When best? Anytime. Guess what...you guessed it. No call from anyone at Petco. For a company that claims they care they have yet to prove that to me. Petco let me ask you this question? In the past few weeks one of your competitors was in national news. Not for their good service or goodness to pets. For pet deaths and injury. You may be headed down the same path leaving animals in kennels for prolonged periods of time. Those of us who try to inform you of problems are just ignored. read more

I would normally do my dogs nails cause I know how he is. But I recently got a concussion which makes it harder for me to bend down and get my dogs nails. So I brought him to this salon, and noticed a girl I worked with prevously is employed here so I said can I have April. And unfortunately April wasn't there so I said I need the most experienced groomer to do my dogs nails. Cause I like them a certain way and I get them that way every time. But the woman at the desk, Ginger, says she or Pam is the most experienced. I said okay. My dog is a large dog that whines when getting his nails done. He's not perfect he pulls his paws away. My issue with the "experienced" groomer is how she held my dogs arm standing on the opposite side of the arm she's working with. This could have dislocated his shoulder and I was furious. She continued to jerk his arm and was holding him in uncomfortable positions I've never seen him in. Then his nails aren't even to the quicks they aren't rounded at all. I paid $15 for a mediocre job. Something a newbie would have done. Personally if I had to come back it will not be for Ginger whatsoever. I was fine with her not being a people person I was fine with her being blazay about things I was not fine with how my dog was treated. April has been around my dog since he was a pup I would have preferred her over Ginger. read more

On each of the last two times I have shopped here - everything was fine until it was time to check out. Today I stood there for several minutes while both employees tried (and failed) to solve another customer's issue - and then BOTH of them left to go investigate something? After sitting there for 5 minutes I left. Previous time the checkout process took about 10 minutes because only one person was working register and again had some kind of problem. If I'm in a rush to find something and just don't have time to shop elsewhere or order online, it's a convenient stop (right beside Trader Joes...) -- but for example I stopped in yesterday because I was a bit freaked out by all the ticks I was suddenly finding on my dog. They recommended a good product (I did a quick check of the product review on my phone while there) and my member's card gave me a $10 rebate, but now that I have the time to look online... Petsmart is way better for grooming services. We went there for my small little maltese. We dropped her off at the groomers, later on we got a call. She told us that my dog jumped off the table, we asked why and she said that she had cut my dog. The cut was bad.. they cut the skin from her breast, it looks like they cut the whole nip off! It was bad enough for her to go to the vet for 4 hours, she had to get medicine and she is now in a cone. They did pay for the grooming and the visit to the vet in the store. But the haircut looks terrible on her as well, they put my dog's face in layers. Like how you would cut my hair, and it looks unbelievably MESSY. They told us that "She was fine." But she was crying, whining, and shaking. They also suggested to us to go to an actual vet, since they knew that they had to pay for the checkup fee and medicine. read more

The staff here is always very friendly and helpful! I feel that this store is a very pleasant store to shop in, I even travel almost 40min just to shop here for my dog food and supplies! I am writing this review specifically for Gillian, our dog trainer, she has really done wonders for our dog Monkey! Being that Monkey is deaf it is crucial that she gets proper training, I was really nervous at first because we moved to Charlotte from California in the middle of our classes and we left behind a wonderful trainer, but Gill instantly proved that she has a wonderful gift for dog training! We were really pleased, especially when we found out that she herself has a deaf dog at home and has lots of experience training other deaf dogs! Whether or not you have a deaf dog, I HIGHLY recommend you have Gill train your dog! I feel it's important for ALL dogs, and if you choose Gill, you won't be sorry!! Gill will be our trainer from now on with any dogs we have in the future as well! Avoid the "Vetco" clinic for shots. I've been to a number of these shot clinics and this one is run very poorly. You wait in line for over an hour to pay, then another long line for shots. They process about 6-8 dogs per hour... Much slower than some of the other discount or mobile shot clinics in the area. read more

DO NOT USE!! Took my dog for grooming and it was horrible. Specifically said not to shave, yet they cut him so short you can see the pink of his skin. Overall cut is patchy and uneven. Never had such a horrible experience, and it was the manager who was reponsible. read more

I took my mini american eskimo, a double coated white dog, to the salon and asked for a small butt trim for hygiene. And they SHAVED her butt. Anyone with a small understanding of dog coats should know never to shave down to the undercoat as it will NOT grow back the same and takes years. Not only was her butt shaven, her legs are nearly bare and as a very fluffy dog she looks ridiculous now. More so, the cut was choppy. I will never take my dog back to this particular petco location. Additionally, they trimmed her fur on her legs which we specifically asked not to do. I understand there are certain liberties groomers may take when requested to trim a dog's fur, but this was by far the worst cut I have ever seen. I brush my dog daily and her matts are due to shedding season and I have been able to brush through every matt with a little patience, but regardless they should have called prior if they felt they couldn't remove the matts. I asked for a trim so the undercoat should not have been touched. The groomers made this decision without consulting me at all which is my biggest complaint. They decided they couldn't brush out the matts in her undercoat, but again did not call. I would have chosen to brush her myself before deciding to shave her in any way. Regardless, this was drastically different that what I had asked for and will be getting a full refund. The manager Regina was very nice and apologized for the groomers making the decision without notifying me. read more

I have been taking my dog to Petco for years, I have my favorite groomers but no matter who has groomed my dog, she is always beautiful and happy coming out. She was a rescue and fidgety at first and hates getting her nails done but over time because of their patience and kind treatment she does not freak out when her paws are touched. The groomers are always polite and listen to what you want done and then do just what you ask. read more
