This is my 2nd Review. First one was removed by Business and I wasn't even notified. Why does he want to hide what he did to our dog. This is why keeps getting away with it. He has yelp remove negative reviews. **Warning** Please do not take your dog to this business. We picked up our dog from the hospital due to several injuries he suffered while he was supposed to be trained/boarded. Our dog had several injuries including a dog bite to his leg. He had a drain tube and he received medical care for 2 weeks. Our dog lost so much weight. Eli came up with excuses for everything. "Dogs have teeth" was one of them, and that our dog scratched himself. Our dog scratched himself tearing his skin because Eli left the training collar on him. Eli blamed the heat. He accepted no responsibility for leaving our dog in that condition. Our dog received round the clock care with pain medication and antibiotics. All of the injuries happened within 5 days of him being there. We made report to SEAACA, SG Police, Humane Society and yet he continues to operate. He blames injuries on dog's behavior and aggressive issues. So he basically blames the dogs for their injuries. Several dogs were hurt within a couple of weeks from each other. Please Read before taking your dog to Eli. PLEASE BEWARE. Eli / Dog Fit 23 LOST OUR DOG & ITS BEEN 6 MONTHS. HES STILL MISSING. If I could I would give Eli NO STARS. On 1/14/21 Eli lost our dog Keeno and it's now been almost 6 months since he's been missing. Eli was not helpful when looking for Keeno. We had to pressure him and call him out to come help us every time. He was unresponsive for hours at a time and would just disappear and say he was busy with other clients dogs while our dog was missing. Although he will claim he was helpful but Please don't let him fool you like he did us. We gave Eli many chances to do the right thing. But time and time again he failed. He will say we were just never happy or what he did was never "enough" but only guilty people who do not and refuse to take accountability say those things. To date he has taken little to no accountability for losing our dog. Let it be clear that the only accountability Eli ever took was when either pressured to do so or when we took him to court. We sent Keeno to board & train with him and on the fourth day he said Keeno got off of his collar while tied to a fence and ran off at South Gate Park. He said he last saw Keeno running across Tweedy Blvd onto Orange Ave around 5pm. Please note that keeno was tied to either a fence or tree according to Eli when he got off his collars. YES TWO COLLARS. Also take into consideration that Eli's story changed so many times that he even misspoke in court in front of the judge. He had told us Keeno was tied to a fence and told the judge a tree. He claims keeno got out of his regular collar and that it broke off. He claims that the prong collar was inside out to not hurt Keeno and that it slipped off. Eli took NO safety measures to secure that Keeno could not get lose. Nor did he run after Keeno because he had another dog with him that "wasn't a runner". The night keeno went missing Eli stayed only for a few hours to help us look then went home because he had other dogs to tend to. The next morning he didn't show up to help us look nor text. We spent night after night in hotels because we live far away to look for Keeno. Eli came to help us look maybe a handful of times and every time it was because we had to pressure him to come out. Everything he did to "help find Keeno" was because we basically made him. We asked neighbors for ring footage and Keeno never appears on any of them on said street he went down at said hour. Including one house with ring footage that faces directly where keeno went missing. When I confronted Eli about this he said maybe he mistook the street keeno might have gone down. He had two dogs with him by himself at the time and claims that is the reason he could not chase Keeno. Instead he says he went back to his car and by the time he did that Keeno was no where to be found. Please note we were on site within an hour and a half of his call. ITS BEEN MONTHS AND KEENO IS STILL MISSING. We took Eli to court after he refused to speak to South Gate Police whom was just trying to help us look for him. Eli took it upon himself to "not incriminate himself" by speaking to the officer and lawyered up. He invoked his 5th. At that point we served him. The judge ruled that he would have to pay us a sum of money "that keeno was worth" within 30 days. 30 days passed and Eli still had not sent us anything. We HAD TO TEXT HIM in order to once again pressure him to do the right thing. He claims to be bonded and insured and was not at the time. He registered his company after Keeno went missing and only because he knew we had to go to court. This man is responsible for losing our family member and I wish this on no one. Please beware and know that he has lost Keeno and a dog before Keeno as well. He will deny it. But facts are facts. Keeno made it to KTLA 5 news and that was only because of the efforts we made NOT him. He tries to take credit for the amount of exposure keeno got and say he did help us. Which with out a doubt he did BARE MINIMUM. Through out our search for keeno we have had numerous people who went to Eli message us and say that their dog was hurt while under his care which we also included in our court documents to the judge. Eli has continued to take down anything keeno related off all his social media so that people don't know and completely censored his pages so that we cannot post. I pretty much paid this guy to torture my dog. I dropped him off last Thursday morning and when I passed by his house in the evening I saw SEAACA there so I got worried and I was calling and texting him, he didn't answer me until the next morning and he stated that everything was okay and his neighbor called because his neighbors is a jerk (later I found out that another client of his was the one that called SEAACA). He lied to us. To make a long story short, my dog was with him for 7 days and when I got my dog back he was missing skin from his face when I confronted Eli he said that it was do to a muzzle. He left a muzzle on him for days. He tried to blame my dog by saying that my dog is very aggressive tried to bite his dog. My wife and I also noticed that several negative reviews have also been removed. This is WRONG and may result in additional pets being injured. I left my Belgium Malinois (Buck) for boarding and training with Eli at Dogfit23 while my family went on vacation. I never would have expected to have to pickup my dog from a Vet hospital upon our return. Eli informed me that Buck had to be kept overnight for observation. Eli downplayed Bucks injuries stating that Buck only needed 1/2 stitch on his leg from a dog bite. He also failed to mention that my dog had neck, head and cheeks injuries due to leaving an e-collar on during hot days. When I saw Buck at the hospital he had stitches around the front of one of his legs and a draining tube sticking out. His neck, cheeks, top of his head and upper chest were shaved off. I could barely recognize him. He had to wear a Large dog cone. I had to nurse Buck for days putting in medicine in his draining tube daily. Prior to considering Dogfit23 for training, I called Eli. Eli's business and boarding license should be verified. Most legitimate dog trainers use a slip lead that dogs cannot get out of, and when they're training a new dog, they only work with 1 dog, not multiple dogs at a time. If not using a trusted collar or slip lead, then a leash safety clip should be used. Sadly Eli is less than equipped to be trusted with dogs, and other reviews show that he's already lost someone's dog with no help of helping them find it. Too expensive. He allows all dogs to interact and allows for bites to happen (he calls it play bite), and hopefully your dog doesn't run away while he's trying to train more than 1 at a time. STAY AWAY! read more

Left my dog for boarding she was attacked her ear ripped in half. Very unprofessional experience. Seems they may be dog fighting, needs investigating. She received several stitches, she also had drain tube's. They said they were cleaning the area at night and she got out her harness was broken and she had been in a very bad dog fight. I sent my female pitbull to train with Eli for a week and am beyond impressed and grateful for the work and effort he's put in with her. My dog is no walk in the park. She was female human reactive, female dog reactive, she would resource guard and was toy reactive. Walks were difficult most times because of all the leash pulling. And on top of it all, she's got alpha mentality. She was a hot mess and we weren't even aware we were enabling these behaviors. Eli's first update came with a short video and I was SHOCKED by the improvements she displayed in such a short amount of time. With each update, I was more and more assured that I had made the right call and selected the right program with the right person for the job. Eli not only trained my dog, but trained her humans too. We weren't aware of certain behaviors we were enabling and the coddling that created problems. He showed us how to correct bad behaviors, signs that a behavior may happen and taught us how to anticipate them so that we can correct them before they even happen. All in all, she's a much easier dog to manage and though we still have work to do and things to practice, I feel he gave us the knowledge and mental tools to continue correcting her behaviors and to succeed in training. Very disappointed with the service, me and my husband wanted to train my Frenchie before my daughter was born. I contacted dogfit23 and first i gave him a list of the things my dog needed to be worked on priority #1 his aggressiveness and he said he could work on all except to train him on popping and pee outside of the house which we agreed. We were paying $700 a week and he said that he could work on my pet just one week, when the week was almost done he told me that he needed more time to work with my pet (more money) we left him 5 more days and agreed to pick him up at 6pm. He texted me saying he was running late so we waited, 4 HOURS!! because he had an incident with my dog, another dog bitted him, trainer said it was superficial and he took him to the vet and when he finally showed up, my dog had 4 stitches by his left ribs. My dog looked like he was starving so skinny and the trainer excused was that he was doing a lot exercise. Me 37 weeks pregnant was crying on our way home seeing the way my dog was even worse with the anesthesia. We ended up paying around $1200-$1300 for nothing. On the next day the trainer came to my house to show us how to keep training my dog and my dog even baked at him when he saw him (so training didn't work) the first days he was looking afraid, the trainer recommended us to buy an electric shock collar for us to keep training My dog. We did brought it and it worked for only walking. My dog still bites my brother and brother in law since day 1, and i told the trainer. Is it possible to give 10 stars? Eli is the absolute best!!! A few months back I was able to adopt a German Shepherd puppy, my Tyson. As a family we do well walking him daily, however, we wanted Tyson to be friendly around other dogs as well as getting additional exercise. Eli, picks him up 3 times a week for group outings with other dogs (Tyson's friends). Tyson doesn't bark around other dogs and is very friendly. All of this is because of Eli, or as we call him "Uncle Eli." It's been months and Tyson gets excited every time Uncle Eli comes to pick him up. I must also mention DOGGY DAY CARE!!! I was in a pinch one Saturday for doggy day care services and called Eli. Tyson broke me heart when I dropped him off with Eli. He didn't even look around and just bolted to Eli and others to go play!!! He gave me video and photos of my pup! Not to mention Tyson having a great time. I wanted to start my review with Eli was great at communicating with us prior to our booking. He answered all of my questions and reassured me that my dog would be in good hands. We boarded our dog the weekend before Christmas. Even when we met to drop off our dog we had a good feeling about leaving her with Eli at DogFit 23. Eli is very knowledgeable and his dogs are amazingly trained. Before boarding our dog, my main concern was that when dogs were being socialized, aka play time, that they are supervised. I even asked again when I dropped her off if dogs would be supervised while playing together and he said yes. I felt very comfortable leaving our dog in his care. There was some lack of communication with pick up, and had to wait over an hour. If pick up was the only issue I probably would have been a repeat customer. However, when we got home and I was giving our dog a bath, I noticed that she had multiple cuts all over her body. If our dog only had a couple scratches, then no big deal I know dogs can play rough with each other. Unfortunately, I found several all over her body, and a few reopened during her bath. My husband counted approximately 15 cuts on her body. This leads me to believe that some of the other dogs played a little too rough, and she was actually bleeding, and there was not enough supervision to prevent this. Our dog has very fine hair and it surprises me that nobody would have noticed that she was cut up and/or bleeding. Unfortunately, I will not be using his boarding services again. When I first reached out to Eli through IG it took him several days to receive a response. Once he responded he set a day and time for a call and never followed through. I should have seen this as a red flag. Second red flag, when I dropped off my dog I was never informed he would not be there and that my dog would be handed over to his assistant. I called him and he sounded bothered and stated he would be there later. Third red flag, in his 6 day stay I only got two updates. I called and texted and received no updates from him in 3 days. Since I had no responses, I was concerned and called while I was on my way to pick up my dog. When I saw him in person he kept saying it was not 3 days with no updates, it was only 2. He informed me he never updates his clients daily. He kept disagreeing with me and was argumentative. I realized that Eli wasn't listening to understand nor acknowledge my concerns. The next day, I asked about the remaining payment, and if he could reduce a day since he was picked up a day in advance. He rudely said, "it's not my fault that you got desperate and wanted to pick him up". Not a professional approach to my concern. I entrusted my beloved pet under his care. Yet, he came back home with weight loss, whimpers in his sleep, has fleas, scabs from the prong collar, and a wound I'm sure he did himself cause he was probably anxious and stressed. I have been consistent in walking him with the prong collar and e-collar, and his pulling has lessened. Was it worth $700? Most definitely not. These are things I could have purchased online for $40. I would have liked to walk my dog with a regular collar which is what I told the trainer but he stated it's not what he decides is what the dog decides. I was so ecstatic to have found someone local to care for my dog a few days during the week. Working long hours and not having anyone to take my dog out for walks during the day was so heartbreaking for me; actually, it is a great cause of personal anxiety. His use of constant corrections with prong collars is antiquated. He never addresses the dogs emotional state or helps build their confidence through confidence building and trust building. His techniques and methods are last and painful to the dogs. He's even limited who comments on his posts on social media because it's clear he knows his abusive methods will be questioned. You can't correct fear or aggression out of a dog. You must build confidence and teach them how to make better choices. Not force these choices on them. What an amazing experience! So much to learn with regards to educating our dogs. Our Rio was with Eli for more than a week. He struggled with socializing, insecurity, jumping, and honoring the basic commands consistently. He was always running around and didn't understand there were rules inside vs outside. I have to say, our RIO came back to us with a new dog. Calm and secure. Not afraid and more confident. I have an 8th month Siberian Husky, Juno, and needed desperate help with all his extra energy. Juno was biting everything and everyone, had to take him to E.R. for eating wood, wouldn't listen to us, taking him for walks was also a struggle since Juno wanted to run off most of the time. He also didn't know how to socialize with other dogs, to the point that he will cry and make a big fuzz around other dogs. I'm so glad I found Eli, I have a poodle who was super disobedient, but at the same had the most lovely attitude. To make the long story short Eli was helping my husband with our German Shepard, he would take him out on walks. I approach him and told him the situation about my smaller dog, I told him how she would leash out and run to other people, was very Disobedient, I actually stopped taking her out on walks because her behavior was over the wall, I actually had found an owner because it was way to much to handle but she still had the lovely attitude that made me hold back. I can honestly say , dogfit23 has become a necessity and part of our family . I have a 3 year old lab that simply wont stop ! He is rambunctious , loves runs, and loves to swim . Unfortunately with our busy schedules, he just wasn't getting enough activity and was restless on most days.
