It's unfortunate I have to write this review in the first place. My dogs have been going to this business before the second owner who took over in 2015. The previous owner was extremely personable, polite and displayed gratitude for her customers. We never had any issues until the second owner took over. At first, she was great, very bland personality but did a good job so we continued to patronize her business. About 9 months ago I was on my way to take my dog to get groomed and he had started to develop symptoms similar to he ate something bad or was ill. He began excessively vomiting and seemed very lethargic. He had not ever experienced anything like this before and it was so sudden so I became concerned took him to the vet and they told me he needs to rest and lots of fluids so I had to cancel my appointment. Of course, I missed the appointment as I was at the vet, it was the first time I have ever missed an appointment. The vet said he needed rest and didn't think it would be wise to take him in case he had the flu. So I called the owner apologizing profusely and she was not understanding she did not care about the well-being Of my animal. I did not want to risk getting any other pets sick! You'd think she would appreciate me not wanting to possibly get other dogs sick. Fast forward to this incident I had an appointment scheduled for February 18th at 9 am written both on my paper calendar and my phone calendar. I walk in and she abrasively says your appointment yesterday and I apologized and said there must have been a misunderstanding because I wrote it down on two calendars. *** SIDE NOTE***this same incident has happened to SEVERAL customers according to her yelp reviews and googles reviews so I am NOT the only customer this has happened to as she claimed I was the only one ) *** She goes into saying all these unprofessional and abrasive things and begins to make comments about my life how I need to manage my and priorities differently. Mind you, I run several businesses and a family so that was not relevant obviously she felt the need to pick apart someone to make herself feel better. I understand how challenging it can be to run an independent small business however it's all about being professional, having grace, post your rules and regulations in case of a missed appointment as salons and other groomers so. She obviously seems to have deeper issues and I believe that is a reason why she hashed out so incredibly volatile. I will never bring my business to doggie delight and all the other customers who I referred years ago to get their pets groomed as a result of my experience will take their business elsewhere. read more

If I could leave 0 stars I would. The owner is extremely unprofessional, unorganized and combative. The grooming is always a hit or miss and the quality of care for your animal just isn't there with this establishment. We have taken our business elsewhere. read more

Will never take my pups there again. The groomer has a nasty, snotty disposition. I think she should find another line of work. My dogs have been going to groomers all of their lives and are not afraid to go, but they always trembled, and tried to climb up my shoulder when I took them there. Made me wonder if she abused them. In addition, if you miss an appointment, she does not call to find out where you are, remind you of the appointment, or attempt to reschedule you, but instead will not reschedule until you have paid for the missed appointment. I have known about four other people who she did this too that no longer go to her. I would give her zero stars if it were possible. read more

We've been using Doggie Delight for years. When Racheal sold the place it's been hit or miss with the New Ownership since then. Because one of our dogs loves going there we mostly use them for our year round grooming. But this morning was again one of those misses and the final straw for me to not go back. We had our appointment on on our calendar for 3 weeks. When I arrived this morning the Owner told me our appointment was for Yesterday. So while I called my Wife to ensure What was on our calendar, the Owner brought over her Schedule Book to show were she had it written. Her tone was that she was right and I was wrong. We've been going here for 4 Years and never late, so when we didn't show yesterday, you'd think maybe she'd call. It would of been an easy solution and we could of been there with our dogs in five minutes. So, for not knowing your Clientele and being more interested in being right instead of working with us. Good service and good people... I would give more stars, BUT... I noticed that the large open area inside had A LOT of dog poop. That is the MAIN FLOOR that the pets and people are in. That just totally disgusted me. That is the only negative part of my experience, but the poop was there on drop off and still there on pick up, hours later. The owner of this grooming business is a SUPER STAR!!!! We stayed at a horrid motel that reeked of urine, and all our dogs stunk!! Rachael heard or problem, and took them right in. :) She did an outright FANTASTIC job on our babies!! Not only did she make them all smell good, but they had the best cut they have ever had! I don't know what we would have done if she couldn't take them that day, but it is worth it to us to use her forever!! I took my dog Jessie into doggy delight because she was in a desperate need of a trim since her fur was too long and matted. I found this place on yelp so I decided to give it a try since it was conveniently close by. Rachael was very friendly and took her time to make sure Jessie looked great. Jessie looked amazing after her trim and has never looked better. Her fur is now as soft as can be where before it was greasy and clumpy. Jessie got washed, trimmed, and had her nails trimmed all for only $25. She even got a cute little bow out on her collar. I was so impressed with this place. STAY AWAY! Under NO circumstances should you take your beloved pet to this establishment. We dropped our Labradoodle off for a bath and brushing. What we got back was a completely shaved dog. Our beautiful 10-month old puppy was shaved so close that he is pink because all you can see is skin. The poor thing also has seven places where he was clipped and is bleeding. The toenails on one paw were not trimmed at all. We made the mistake of paying our bill before we saw the DEPLORABLE job they did. If you decide to risk this place, please make sure you see your dog BEFORE you pay. I would not take my dog back to this place if it was the last groomer on earth. read more

We had a good experience with Doggie Delight. We were able to walk in without an appointment and have our Min-pin's nails trimmed. He had never been to the groomers before and he was agitated. My boy Herbie is a "regular" here. After some bad experiences at other places and other people, I will only entrust him to Racheal owner of Doggie Delight . He has a full coat and requires a lot of attention to grooming. I can not say enough about his grooming here. What I find the most important is how happy he is go there. He runs to door to get inside ! Most of the time he is not in a cage but roams free within the shop. Racheal loves dogs and I really appreciate her devotion. She even has my boys photo hanging in her shop. On more than more occasion, Racheal has noticed foxtails in his gum and between his toes. These both required a trip to the vet. Her actions have prevented more serious conditions to occur. My little guy is happy and healthy thanks in part to "Auntie Racheal". Thank you so much for loving our dogs as much we do ! read more

Without a doubt the best dog grooming place in town. Rachel is fantastic and my dogs love her. All other salons would keep my dogs up 7 or 8 hours and it's traumatic enough that they're away from home but Doggie Delight they are in and out within 3 hours. I don't usually do this, but I feel like I was lied to. I've never had a problem with this groomer until today, this was my third or fourth time bringing my dog to this location. The problem I have is that I went in to get him washed and everything that comes with the $23 wash... I pick him up and he looked good, and they didn't say anything went wrong with the cleaning. Cool. So I just paid the tab, And brought him into my vehicle. As he was sitting in my front seat I noticed quite a bit of blood in different spots all over my grey cloth seats. His dewclaw was cut pretty bad and bled for A while after picking him up. When I called doggie delight back and told them that I would've appreciated them letting me know that they made his dewclaw bleed to save the stains on my seats, they pretended that they didn't know it was bleeding. Anyone that didn't have their vision impaired severely would be able to see that his claw was bleeding, especially if you were the one that cut it. Plus it's not a pleasant experience when a dog gets cut down so deep on there nails that it starts to bleed, I know that from experience as my mother was a groomer. Like I said, they've always done a good job washing him before, but I do not appreciate being lied to, so I will not be going back to this place. read more

We have three furballs, one is an older poodle who is on RX's & needs special care when being groomed, one a chi that was adopted from a shelter & has trust issues & the last is a labrador that works with the Sheriffs search & rescue dept. here in Prescott & he gets filthy when out on a search. Have gone to quite a few groomers but Rachel is the very best. She understands the needs of all three of my dogs, is kind with all of them (I've also noticed that the entire shop is good with other dogs as well). I couldn't be happier that I found Doggie Delights! I live quite a distance away & will gladly make the 45 minute trip to come here because I know the quality & care is very important to me as well as peace of mind. Thanks for all you do! read more

I have taken Gracie to almost every groomer in the Tri City Area, including Petsmart and have never been as pleased as I am with Doggie Delight. From the moment I walked in I couldn't believe I was at a doggie spa, it felt like a person spa. The ambiance was very warm and inviting, and I noticed Gracie wasn't shaking, Speaking with Rachel showed me how much she truly enjoys animals. She was very interested in how I wanted Gracie cut and what I was looking for. When I picked Gracie up, she was just beautiful...better than any cut she has every received from ANYONE! Then when I took her out on her play dates or to see friends, everyone commented on her cut and how cute she looked. I have finally found a place for Gracie to go where she is cared for, receives the best possible service, and her mommy (me) is so proud to show her off.
