I don't live close enough to make this a regular stop, but whenever I'm downtown with my dog I like to stop in and maybe get the pup a treat. On my most recent visit (couple of days ago), I was surprised to see the store has very little stock. Not sure what's going on, but there was far more empty space on the display racks than there was product. If I had actually needed something, it would not even have been worth going in. Additionally, the entire time I browsed the store, neither of the two workers behind the counter bothered to ask if they could help me. I've been coming to Whiskers Barkery, which is more of a tourist spot than a local shopping destination, for at least 10 years and it feels more like 20, but I don't have confirmation they existed that far back. During that time have been dog mom to six dogs, four of which have visited the store with me. We drive up from the valley several times a year. Upon our most recent visit a gentleman decided to tell me all about my dog, her teeth, and what she can and cannot eat. She's been eating WB treats for her entire 14 years of life. If we are on a trip up there without her, we bring some back to her and her sister. If she is with us, she gets to pick. This day she wasn't interested in any of the handheld offerings, so he continued telling me about her teeth. The cold, hard truth is - my dog reads me. That's her deal. She knew I didn't like him, so she didn't like him, so she didn't want any of his selections. We wound up spending like $5, against his better advice, which is far less than we usually spend. Hell, we bought our first dog stroller there many moons ago - back before they were a common thing. I was really unimpressed this visit and will think twice before going in again. Had to go to Vet Hospital Emergency room not even a week after grooming appointment. Paws where matted and not trimmed and infected when i was at hospital i heard other horror stories about Debbie the groomer. The owners are to afraid to pick up calls. Thank god there's a emergency Vet out here , and said find a new Groomer Very upset...I would stay far away if you care for the health of your dog.. I want refund and Vet bills paid for or everyone in Prescott will be warned everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!! When you're out and about, headed to an art festival downtown and your spastic papillon decides to make a pit stop, revealing that she also has a spastic colon that day, head to Whiskers Barkery. Tricki the Tumultuous Trickster really needed a bath after doing her dirty deed (Done dirt cheap if you are ACDC). Luckily, Whiskers Barkery was really close by so we stopped by to use their self wash. The gentleman at the counter was really nice and brought us to the wash room in the back, showing us how to use the shower nozzle and dryer. The room has 2 wash stations and includes shampoo, conditioner, a silicone brush, plenty of towels, and air dryer. There are aprons available for you to wear so you don't get as wet as your dog. The price ranges from $12-18, the price for our small papillon was $12. After a bit of a wash and dry, Tricki was clean in no time! I browsed a bit afterwards and they have a lot of high quality pet foods, toys, costumes, and the bakery has such cute little cookies and treats available. I couldn't resist getting a cookie taco and pizza for the pups, each $3. Service was so nice and friendly and one of the ladies showered our dogs with lots of love and treats. :) read more

Although I have now moved from the area, my last grooming experience with yet again new groomers at this location was not good & I didn't go back. Alayna was great but the new couple grooming took forever and cut my dogs ear rather badly. I was suspicious as to why it was taking so long... I order a specific raw cat food which they carry. At first it was ok as the ordering guy was good at his job. Unfortunately he moved on after a year of me being here. Now they can't seem to keep employees for very long and the employees that I had interaction with were really nice people. My orders have consistently been messed up to the point of me having to scramble to find food elsewhere and the owner blames me. I just don't need to be treated ugly and this happened at least 4 times. Now I'm done and have found another supplier that is happy to have my business. read more

Whenever I am up in Prescott, I stop here to get some fun cookies for my dog. I also stock up on the CBD treats they sell. It's more reasonably priced here than other pet stores and the staff is very helpful with what would be best for your dog. Mine has severe anxiety and some joint pain so they recommended a good combo that helps him when he needs it. read more

I went into this store with my very nervous adopted pup Scooby Doo. We went to go check out harnesses because he has a knack for reversing out of his collar. He reveresed out of his collar in front of the store! All the ladies were so helpful in helping me calm him down and get him safely into the store. I ended up buying a puzzle for my pup back home because we barely have them AND the fact that it was 20$ was amazing. These toys can be 50$ back home. Deb is so good with our dog, Eastwood. He is going blind and has major anxiety and she is so gentle with him. He actually kisses her hi when we arrive. He always looks good and is so soft when we pick him up. We are also able to special order his food and they hold it until we can pick it up. Good old fashion customer service! read more

Rude Service + Bad Business model = Wont be going back. I tried to buy an (overpriced) $30 bag of dog food with a $100 Bill. Manager said they don't have proper change. This is a retail store mind you. I actually tried to help her out and asked if I could buy the larger (overpriced) bag that was $90 with the $100 Bill. Then she states that they don't take $100 bills. Rude the entire process. Like I was offending her by seeking a way to pay with cash. They fail to realize that had they given proper service and maybe even carried cash like every other business, they would have had a repeat customer.. maybe even $100 every few weeks or more. So how this place is still open is beyond me with that business model and rude service. Id rather give my money to Amazon, which I ended up doing and saving $20. My original plan when I moved to AZ was to move to Prescott, and folks like the ones running this business refresh that plan in my mind. I stopped in (got led in by my Aunt) to find some new toys for my cat. I feel that P Chez is just fine with my shoelaces but Auntie things that she deserves much more than that. There were two young ladies (one young and one youngish truth be told), who were working this Sunday that we stopped in. It is rare that I meet people who are as enthusiastic about what they do as these ladies were, I mean they were really excited about the products that they had for the pets, and even after we had made our selections they were: Oh, let me show you this... maybe next time you can get this thing... I also liked that they have a pet sitting service for people who are in town with their pets and who don't want to take them to lunch with them (thanks for that by the way) and need a place other than a 150 deg car to keep them. Considering that these folks LOVE animals, this is a great place to drop them off i would think. I don't take my cat to town so maybe not so useful for me. My favorite place to spoil my pups!! I love their treat bakery and the variety of homemade unique treats! You can do a mix and match of smaller treats, I believe it's like 12 for $5, or you can buy individual larger treats for around $2-3. They are always different when I stop in and offer seasonal ones as well. They seriously have the cutest stuff here and I always make a point to stop by when visiting Prescott. read more

Took my Min Pin for nail trim and glands. I was asked to hold my dog while groomer quickly ground down my dog's nails with a Dremel tool. Dust flew everywhere and smelled terrible. Room was rather dingy, and needing a good sweep out My dog was nervous and ready to jump. She's usually calm, as she's 13 years old. Then she was taken to the sink, where groomer wrestled with her for about 20 seconds, with no wipe or rinse off. For this experience I paid $20, which is about twice what is normally charged. Needless to say, will not be returning for grooming here. read more

Prescott is a dog friendly town, and Whiskers is my favorite shop to go for my grand dog treats. The staff there is very helpful-I'm not well versed on bully sticks,tendons, etc! What I love to buy are the birthday cookies or holiday treats. A fun place to shop for your pet when in town! read more

What a wonderful selection of dog treats and interesting ones I have never seen before! They have ones that are easily digestible and safe for your pet. Bentley enjoyed sniffing around and the treats we picked out came in handy. A repairman was waiting for us when we got home and the treat kept Bentley completely focused instead of "hounding" him. read more
