I dropped off my husky for a weekend stay this past weekend, I have used their other location as Grand Canyon Rd by Flamengo and it was a good experience. This location is closer to where I live so I thought that I'll try them out and the experience would be the same, but I was wrong. The staff is very friendly and the location is very nice but I did not realize when I booked my stay that the location has no indoor play area. That would be generally fine if they have the dogs play outside early in the morning and in the evening when it's not as hot but not throughout the hottest times of the day. When I looked at the cameras, my dog was outside with over 20 dogs packed in a play area during the hottest times of the day. I picked him up on Monday, 6/8, and the staff told us that they barely noticed today that my husky had hot spots on his head and paw. I saw the hotspot and noticed he was also limping because of the hot spot on his paw. I treated the hotspot Monday night and Tuesday, but yesterday I had to take my dog to the vet because the hot spot on his head started to bleed and show puss coming out. The vet shaved it and checked his cheek and found a BIG hot spot on his cheek as well. My dog now has a cone on, I have to spray the spot on his head and cheek every 12 hrs, put ointment on his paw every 12 hrs, and he has to take a antibiotic every 12 hrs for the next 7 days. I'm sure during the winter it's fine to have dogs outside all day but not during the summer! The place is probably fine for a daycare but don't board your pet at this location! read more

DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG TO THIS PLACE! Their staff does not know what they are doing! Their staff is not correctly informed on their own polices which causes major inconveniences and problems. The staff told me that since my dog is a pup its ok for him not to have a rabies shot bc you have to be a certain age for that and he was just reaching that age. When my husband left to drop off the dogs he had to turn around and come back home bc they said I don't know who told you that but that was the wrong info. No apologies and a snarky irritated tone and attitude from the staff. Now my husband was late for work! Never again! Great place for my dog to stay! My husband and I were looking for a place to have our dog Harley go to play and stay while we went on vacation 2 years ago. So glad we found Doggie District! ***Former Rainbow client*** My dog Cosmo started out at the Craig location many years ago and it was great , but then they got way too crowded and couldn't keep any staff so they wound up rotating dogs daily to have time to go out to play but what wound up happening is our dogs spent more time in a crate for the day waiting for their next turn to go play than they did actually playing . It went downhill fast , so we switched to the rainbow location years ago and never looked back! They got more playtime and had more fun at Rainbow then they ever did at Craig !!! My dog wears an activity tracker so I know exactly how much activity he gets and he got double the amount of playtime at rainbow . He absolutely loved it there and we love the staff. It wasn't over crowded like Craig and bigger indoor and outdoor play yards . Well for some STUPID GREEDY REASON they have now decided to close rainbow and merge everyone with the Craig location. Ummmmm , if Craig has had issues for years with over crowding why in the hell would you try to send even MORE clients there !!!! Last week was his last day being able to play at Rainbow and there were Craig dogs there because they were turned away due to not having room ! Well, no s*** . So now with Rainbow closed Craig will be a total nightmare because of not having any room for the dogs to actually play and or being rotated during the day just like they were in the past ! So let's see . Double the amount of dogs as before and they have smaller indoor and outdoor play yards than Rainbow . Yeah sure , that makes a lot of sense !!!! This is Greedy and obviously whoever is the owner does not actually care about the welfare and happiness of the dogs . If they did they wouldnt have closed Rainbow where so many of us have been for years . If they were smart , they would have made Rainbow Daycare ONLY and Craig could have been for boarding . This is just terrible . And they still didn't even get the cameras working ! Every daycare now has Cameras . They made the announcement that they were getting cameras over 2 months ago and IT still has yet to get them working . Again , it seems the priority is $$$ and not the welfare and happiness of the dogs or the clients . Doggie District Craig has made a lot of money over the years and they could have made improvements to make the play areas larger or figure out a way to remedy the overcrowding issue but instead they chose to CLOSE RAINBOW and make it even worse !!! Us Rainbow clients are disgusted and very sad that our little hole in the wall gem of a daycare was closed and now we are left not knowing where to take our dogs after being a loyal client of DD , this is the thanks we get . I am still trying to remain hopefull only because I know the rainbow staff is now over at Craig , but unfortunately there is only so much they can do. I really don't see how it will ever work . There are just way too many dogs over there now which will be very hard on the staff and the dogs. Cosmo will miss all of his friends that he loves to play with like Cricket , Oreo , Max , Lucy and so many others . Ugggg this is just so sad and upsetting . What a big mistake. So many loyal DD clients will now choose to leave all together and find somewhere else that isn't so overcrowded. Sad Sad Sad !!!! read more

We recently adopted our foster dog and had plans to go out of town. Due to a mix up with her vaccine records, we were in a time crunch to find a spot to board her and Doggie District came up via Yelp search. I had no idea they were so close by, since they're in the back of a large plaza and not really visible from the main street. I made an account online but had to call to make our first booking. Before boarding, a separate "meet and greet" is required to make sure it's a good fit and the dog is behaved, etc. Staff were great about fitting us in last minute and accommodating my work schedule - location is clean, staff were friendly, and the dog pool area is a fun touch that I didn't expect. My pup came home damp and tired, and I assume she had a fun time. DD let us know she was "approved" to come back. Thankfully by then, we'd found another boarding option with a better price. While I will still keep this place in mind in the future, and appreciate their automated follow up emails and texts, etc. the pricing was a bit high. And as Adrienne's review states, no one mentioned "peak season" add-on fees when I called about booking - while I understand the concept, it defeats the purpose of calling ahead of time for a quote, which makes me a little apprehensive about booking here in the future. read more

A new manager took over this location and they have gone back to their old ways. The dogs are crated for breakfast - then a nap- and then lunch . Why do all dogs have to get put up for 2 meals if we don't want them to.? My dogs eat breakfast before they get dropped off but yet they have to sit in a crate for over an hour waiting to be let out to finally go play again, and each meal period is well over an hour, so we pay for a full day and 3 hours out of that day is spent in a crate. Other places do not do this . Craig has gone right back to their old ways due to the new manager Rebecca and either not having enough employees or being overcrowded with dogs or just more time for the employees to sit around. I don't pay for my dogs to get crated for hours at daycare, they can do that at home. We will be going back to CBW where they get to play ALL DAY long read more

I'm so disappointed with them! My dog was a daycare regular and boarded frequently at the rainbow location. I wrote a letter of concern about the merge and adding all of the rainbow location dogs to an already packed Craig location. I even included a picture of two dogs left in the front water feature yard in triple digit weather (Craig location) with no attendant, drooling at the gate wanting to come in. They were there for at least 15 minutes while I waited for my my dogs evaluation. I also noted that there was no cover/wind sail in that yard. Even after the recent heat stroke death of another dog at the south Nevada location. I am appalled that I got ZERO response from anyone.... ZERO!! No response is a very loud response and speaks volumes. I won't be taking my dog to the Craig location it is unsafe! Shame on the owners and management read more

Gives going home bath- needed especially after all the water play. Our furry kids like going. Do wish they would dry our girls ears to prevent smelly ear infections but they never do even when a towel is provided. Much better care now with the new management. Some of the Rainbow location staff they absorbed probably should move on not the best business decision to absorb them. They seem overwhelmed at times (Sept/ Nov) and I worry about the quality of care they receive and hope they aren't just kenneled and fed on whatever schedule they choose and really do get all the playtime they seem to promote. It seems our two Golden retrievers schedules (feeding and pottie) are all messed up after they go there for boarding a few days. They drink a ton of water and act like they are not given water and sleep for most of the day after they have boarded here. read more

We used to go to the Rainbow location and we loved it there! The staff was incredibly nice, and my dogs were always treated so well. The one at Craig Road is what I call "too fancy for function" . The staff members are nothing like the staff at the Rainbow location. I continue to hear negative stories about the Craig Road location, but I need to see it for myself. This last week when I picked up my dogs from daycare, I knew something wasn't right. When I got the dogs in the car, my older dog (4years old) immediately jumped in my lap before I was out of the parking lot. He was freaked out about something. My puppy then jumped in the backseat and Peed and pooped. When we got home, one of my dogs also threw up and both of them drank water like they hadn't drank anything all day. I'm so disappointed with the lack of care for the dogs at the new location. After my own experience, and hearing from others... I would no longer recommend this place. It's unfortunate because we've been members of Doggie district (Rainbow/Cheyenne) for nearly 15 years and now we say goodbye. read more

Went in to tour the facility as I was looking for a boarding place for my dogs. The receptionist said she wasn't authorized to give a tour, and we could only come in during the weekday mornings when a manager was there. This makes no sense because if you're skilled enough to care for the dogs, walking new clients around the facility shouldn't be an issue. This made me suspicious that they want to 'clean up' before new clients see the state of the facility. Also, there were small dogs and big dogs in the general play area that we could see from the reception area without anyone supervising. read more

I'm confused as to why I was offered a suite with cameras to watch my dogs stay but at 8pm the cameras were turned off with a message, "We'll be back at 6:30am". This left my 6 month old pup locked in a room alone since all the staff goes home by 7pm and me sick to my stomach and without sleep in another state. Staff came in the following day knowing my puppy had been locked up for 14 hours and never had the compassion or ethics to let her out instead they told me everyone (dogs brought in that morning) had to eat breakfast, rest, and then be let out together. This was my biggest nightmare. My 6 month old puppy was supposed to stay till Sunday closing but was picked up by my friend the next morning d/t false reassurance and pitch. In a 24 hour span of time my puppy was lock in a room for 17 hours. They have 7-12 dogs a the play ground with one bowl of water. I watched 3 dogs go to the bowl to get a drink after running around but couldn't because it was empty. It wasn't refilled until the next play time. I was charged half price and offered to speak with management Monday and I declined. Do not board your fur babies here where they lack compassion, ethical beliefs, and enough staff. read more

We left our 3 pups here for the first time for boarding and couldn't be more pleased. They were one of the few that would take our uncut male puppy. The facility is large and clean.
