Cory did an absolutely amazing job with my baby Cedric! Despite being nearly 5 years old and 105lbs, I've had the hardest time finding a grooming shop I could trust since he's very shy and timid. So many other shops are extremely rude, expensive, and have some attitude towards larger dogs as if they don't bring in more money (I used to love them working in grooming, got groomers more money). Bogart's was the complete opposite! They booked my Cedric a week out, reminded me the day before, and Rocky was very welcoming when I came in today. Cory immediately took to Cedric and made him feel comfortable, safe, and welcome. The price was not bad AT ALL. Only $85 for his trim when other shops want to charge $110 just to get him a simple bath. Cory was very attentive to my needs and what I wanted with Ced, and her comments about growing up with Berners made me feel even more comfortable leaving him there. While I didn't pick him up, I'm told he was very waggy and giving kisses to Cory, which is HUGE for him! Normally he's ready to book it out the door, but whatever Cory did really made Cedric feel good. Thank you again to both Cory and Rocky for helping Cedric find a new groomer. Unacceptable customer service. I've been shopping here for the past 6 yr. This is the first time that I have to return a purchase. The young girl behind the counter, claimed she is the store manager refused the return and said "the door is that way." I can't believe the look she had on her face. I really felt she hates me. Pablo took amazing care of Smokey! I am so appreciative of them taking in my senior dog as it is difficult for me to groom him myself. I generally bring my mini Schnauzer to Bogarts for her routine grooming at the Hualapai location but had to get her serviced here due to staffing issues at the other location. It's been about a week since her appointment and she was hairier than usual to begin with. We normally ask for an all over shave but she had long strands of hair around her paws, belly, and tail. What really made me upset is as I was playing with her recently, I found a giant scab under her jaw near her neck. It was relatively fresh because the scab would not come off when I touch it. She's an indoor dog and we have not gone out or done any activities that could've resulted in this in the last seven days. I'm upset that the usual business I trust with my dog's grooming not only cut her near her neck, but failed to let me know. Her groom overall was not up to my expectations to begin with but, I figured since this will probably the last time I'll be at this location, I wouldn't make it a big deal. Bogart's will use devious means to not honor their return policy and show no deference to long-term, loyal customers. To Rachel, the owner of Bogart's Bone Appetit, if you insist to enforce a stringent return policy, then you should: 1) Remove "Refund" from the policy language at the bottom of your receipt. If you accept a return, at all, then it will always be for store credit, thus the customer will never get a refund. 2) In the return language on the receipt, change all instances of "receipt" to "original receipt printed at the time of purchase". Bogart's obviously keeps all electronic versions of all receipts, but if you are going to squirm out of a customer-friendly resolution to a return, by demanding the original receipt, then document it on the receipt, itself. This would add just 2 more lines to the 16 lines already printed. 3) At the time of purchase, don't ask your customers whether they would like a printed receipt. You should print the receipt, every time, always hand the receipt to the customer, and make the statement, "please keep this original receipt, even though we ask you for your phone number and maintain an electronic record of all of your purchases, only this printed receipt qualifies you for a product exchange. The details: Unfortunately, despite years of patronage at the Summerlin and the main Fort Apache Bogart's Bone Appetit locations, we sadly must stop shopping at this pet supply store. We've shopped at Bogart's off and on, for 6 years, only pausing after our previous dog passed. We insisted on Bogart's, instead of the large pet supply chain stores, to support a local small business. Besides buying numerous large bags of the pricier brands, we also spent on impulse purchases of snacks and canine baked treats many times, as well as purchasing dog washes at Bogart's self wash station. Basically, we were happy, loyal customers for years. We tried a new Nutri Source dry food bag for our 2-year old Lab rescue. This recipe simply did not agree with her tummy, and after a couple days of her stomach upset or indigestion, we decided to exchange this bag and go back to the previous Nutri Source formulation. Note, the knowledgeable employees at Bogart's have stated, in the past, that if we were not happy with any particular dry food, just return to exchange it, with more than half the remaining quantity, for a different blend. Luckily, we've never had the need to return or exchange any dog food, in the past, when we were buying brands, such as Orijen as Stella and Chewy's from Bogart's. Here's where Bogart's demonstrated their disregard for customer loyalty: the counter person at the Summerlin location (who also happened to be the store manager) told us that we could not exchange this bag because we did not have a printed receipt. The irony of this is that Bogart's Bone Appetit captured our customer phone number every time we bought anything, kept extensive records of all our purchases, and the Summerlin store manager was actually able to print this receipt when asked. This printed receipt is attached, but with personal identifying information blanked. Note, this is the stored receipt, from Bogart's customer database, which we had declined at the time of purchase, assuming that we'd never have a need to prove anything with said slip of paper. I will not discuss the demeanor of the store manager when rejecting any consideration of our various large purchases, all saved in Bogart's customer tracking database, over the course of years. This store manager was quick to point out that the decision, to reject the exchange, was made by Rachel, the owner of Bogart's. To Rachel, I ask, how have you been so burned by exchanges that you directed this store manager to chase away a repeat customer who has spent well into the $1000's at your stores? Even if we had to pay more at Chewy's, Amazon, a big box store, or some other locally-owned pet supply store, the extra expense would be worthwhile knowing that those businesses sincerely wanted their customers to come back. There have been many satisfied customers, based on the reviews, at Rachel's various Bogart's locations. We should have reviewed two of these locations, with five stars, a long time ago. Do not patronize Bogarts, they do not really care about your pets. I followed the directions of the store employee and because of that my dog suffered an extreme gastrointestinal episode. So severe that he couldn't even stand up to pee. I took him to his vet who confirmed that the pain was caused by not transitioning him to the new food. The employee had said that going from his old food to his new was like taking a few fixing off your burger, and that it was not necessary AT ALL to transition him. Needless to say I had a huge vet bill because of the employees wrong and dangerous directions. I contacted the manager, who spoke with the owner, and the only response I got was they were sorry but they won't do anything. Such a poor and disappointing reaction from them. Came here on a weeknight a little after 6pm looking for something to bring as a gift for a dog's bday party... my first ever invite. I've never been here before, but have passed it a million times. Of course, I looked at reviews and photos of what other yelpers documented during their experiences and I came in thinking I would meet a horrible, older woman who would scowl at me, and provide crappy service- esp bc I was coming in during the last hour they were open. That was not the case, at all. I walked in and saw an older woman behind the counter. She let me roam about and I saw all the specialty food items, along with refrigerated food. To the right as you enter is a display of all kinds of dog chews, like raw hides and such. I decided that their baked treats would be best for a dog I don't know much about, esp when I saw they have actual treats that say "happy birthday" on them. I told her what my objective was and she picked out all the pink, frosted treats that I requested and made cheerful small talk. She put the items in two separate, clear plastic bags with twist ties and rang them up. She apologized for having to ring each item up one by one- fine by me. Bad customer service from a manager Jen. Purchased a 75% off item which is a final sale but I did not know it's final and I couldn't return it. Lady at the front desk advised she will have to ask the manager. When the manager Jen came out I could see that she was already not friendly. She did not greet me nor asked me any questions. She looked at the bags and said that there is nothing she could do because it's a final sale adding she told me so when I bought it. The price was $5 or less than $10 which was not a big deal but the attitude of the manager, her ability to handle a customer and the approach she chose is so bad especially when you work in product sales. I've been taking my dogs for grooming for years at Bogart's Bone Appetit Town Village Square. Every month they got groomed for years. When the prices were raised it was at the beginning of the year. We all expect increases at that time. NOT TWICE IN A YEAR!!! The price has been raised twice in this past year. I was never given a heads-up before booking the second time in 2024. Both my dogs are at the most 14 lbs. or less. The last two times, I have had a different groomer, and of course not at all the grooming expectations I've learned to expect. I have gone over what not to trim or cut many times. This last visit was a disaster with the grooming, and the cost went up without being informed first The grooming charges went from $45.00 each for my smaller dog to $55.00 and the other to $60.00. On the last visit, both dog prices went to $65.00 each, and of course, the tip was included I paid a total of $160.00. The cost in general is outrageous for the grooming period. Expectations of getting the same groomer working on your pets are now Zero. Knowing how to treat customers is of the utmost importance. With the staff working there now, customers don't matter. In my opinion, stay away from Bogart's Bone Appetit 1930 Village Center Circle Las Vegas Nevada 89134. This is the worst place to go. read more

I love this store. In the past I've been an amazon or chewy's bargain shopper but in more recent years I try to support local businesses, especially because they're getting swallowed up by online retailers who just raise prices after driving small businesses out. This store has (almost) everything I ever want and what's not in stock they will order for me and call when it's in - usually just a day or two wait. They have always price matched or beat online prices, are very friendly and knowledgable about dog foods - and they carry a lot of brands across different price points. They've never failed to offer to help me carry stuff out, so I was surprised to see someone here say they didn't get that offer. Helene - who is usually working the register - has always offered so not sure who the other reviewer has dealt with. They also honor manufacturer discounts that Chewy does not offer - for example, buy 9 bags / boxes get the 10th free. They also offer that discount on hard-to-find marrow bones, which grocery stores don't seem to carry anymore. I'll say that their toy selection is small, and they don't carry things like the Omega Oil or probiotics I use, but that's apparently a licensing / permissions thing. So I buy toys and probiotics online, no big deal. I've used the nail trim service a few times and it was fine - they're very gentle, friendly, and fast - but I do wish they would just leave larger dogs on the floor rather than put them up on the table. Some dogs are high anxiety and the table is a risk of a fall or even higher anxiety. That said, for food, treats, leashes and collars, plus my limited experience with the groomers, I recommend this store highly and am glad they're so close by. Whatever you do, my experience at big box stores like Pet Smart (specifically Pet Smart) for grooming was horrendous and I would not recommend anyone entrust their dogs to any Pet Smart. read more

We absolutely love supporting local small businesses and have been frequenting Bogarts for the last 8+ years at their Summerlin and Southwest locations. They offer a great selection of well curated items tucked in smaller storefronts all across town. We (and by we, I mean our dogs) absolutely love their fresh baked goods. We grab some Peanut Butter Bones, Cranberry and Carrot treats every time we stop in. And if you want to really spoil them, be sure to order one of their custom cookies or cakes for your furry friends next birthday! We use their grooming service regularly and are always happy with the results. The girls even come home with bows on their ears. Every employee that we have encountered in our years of patronage has been patient, helpful and super friendly. Recently we changed dog food as the girls were not reacting well to years of the food we had them on. We spent a total of three visits discussing the options, benefits and ingredients and landed on a new food that is grain and chicken free. If there is anytime an associates patience was tested, it was on these visits. Only knock, and it's not a big one, is that the dog food we finally landed on is often out of stock. Frustrating when you stop in to pickup and find it unavailable. Also we have asked to have a bag set aside only to find not there when we arrive. Apparently we picked a popular bag! read more

I buy all my dog food dog treats at Bone Appetite in village center. I also wash my dog there in the self wash all the time. I Paid 11 dollars for the self wash about one month ago however, today to my surprise the was wash 20 dollars. When I asked why the priced doubled I was told that now they are charging by the weight of the dog by the owner's direction. I expect prices to rise due to inflation however when it doubles I smell greed and no understanding of the customers. I'm sure that by taking my business elsewhere it will not hurt the brilliant owner. I do believe that this business is going to see a decline because when you make decisions like that you are probably looking at what else you can double. The owner could have used the self wash as a leader to get customers like me to come in wash my dog and I always buy treats and when low on dog food I buy it there. When raising prices you do it graduall, not in 100% increments. I did not even look at the dog food I buy there because if the owner makes decisions like this in my opinion he does not understand his customers or how to raise prices. We are in the process of getting our bathroom remodeled. So I needed to find a local doggy self wash station, fast. This place was exactly what I needed. It was clean and they had everything set up for the entire process. They provided 2 in 1 soap, brushes, 2 towels and a blown drying system. Once the girl finally came to the phone, she confirmed they were open till 7:00pm. I asked if the online price was for all breeds as I have a very large dog. This is a review for the dog self wash, specifically. Took our dogs in for a bath. They gave us one towel, which was ragged and covered with felted pet hair. They had shampoo in unmarked bottles, who knows what it was, I had brought my own and used that instead. The tubs and floors were really dirty like no one was maintaining them throughout the day, hair everywhere. When we asked for a second towel for our other dog, she told us they were in the wash, and came back with another towel that was old and ragged with stains and more felted in pet hair. I'm honestly not sure either towel was clean. They seem nice at the store, and we bought some harnesses from them awhile back, but since we order our dog food fresh from Los Angeles, we won't be back. read more

I've been going here for years to get our dog food and using the self-wash. There are a few girls up front that consistently help us out, and always offer to bring our food out to the car. They're very sweet. They do have new staff members on occasion, and as with many other businesses, they take some time to adjust to the environment. Once they get comfortable in these roles, they're also super helpful. The team is open and honest in their communication, especially during the height of the pandemic when there were delays in shipments. (Through zero fault of their own) They even make special orders for us to ensure we get what we need, as long as we plan in advance. Love this staff and the selection. read more

I prefer to support local vs. online sites like Chewy dot com. I moved to this side of town from my other home Bogart's which was closer to Ft. Apache & Tropicana (5 star awesome staff) where EVERY time they offered to help me to my car w/ my monthly 12 cans of dog food & 30lbs of dry food. After 18 months soliciting this location, I have about a 30% chance of being offered help. It's irritating. Nearly every time I have to struggle hauling my 40lb purchases, un-assisted, I ask myself, "why am I not ordering online where they deliver to my door" ? I'm hoping management reads this; I am trying to keep my dollars local but please, get your Summerlin staff to do customers service and simply, open the damn door & walk a 12 pack of canned dog food to my trunk while I tote a 30lb bag of dry dog food and you'll keep a 9 year customer. I previously came to your summerlin location and Richard Miranda did an incredible job, the happiest I've ever been with a haircut. I returned to find out he had left and Chloe did it instead. My dog, Oliver, a schnauzer goes on hiking trips and gets lots of tangles in his hair. Richard had managed to get them out and even helped us buy the right brush for home. When I dropped him off this time Chloe said it would not be a problem to get out the tangles. I get a call an hour later that he would have to be shaved completely and she could not leave any of the schnauzer "skirt". I was frustrated because I can shave my dog at home but they said they would have to charge us $25 for a bath so at that point I just gave up and consented to shaving him but asked that his beard be left long. I would have preferred if Chloe had properly assessed it at the beginning and been up front about having to shave him. When we picked up Oliver, he looked awful. His legs are patchy, it seems like someone just hacked away his hair. The shave is uneven and on top of that he has various cuts on his legs and around his anus as well as a scissor cut on his neck. We were not offered any salve to soothe it. And did not wish to return to have it evened out because if they couldn't do it right before why take him back. His beard had been cut which was the only request I made, we have been growing it for a year now. Not to mention my dog had difficulty going to the bathroom and kept trying to rub his butt all over the carpet due to irritation. His collar rubs on the cut on his neck which also made the walk painful. I completely agree that it is inhumane to detangle/demat a dog who is too tangled, that was my fault for not keeping up his brushing. But make sure the rest of the cut is humane. We are going to go find Richard because we are not returning to Bogart's. Chloe should learn to listen to her clients. Your front desk staff is wonderful and we love the bakery but I am extremely disappointed in your grooming. read more

I finally decided to try a self wash. Being this was my first time the associate explained everything to me, how to hook up my dog and how to use the dryer. I was a totally newbie minus hosing her down in my backyard after swim parties. For $11.99 everything is provided, shampoo, conditioner, brushes and apron. The washing area is clean with two stations. Prior to the wash Jenna, my lab, got her nails dremeled. This was $15. Regular clip is $10. Well worth it as I am not comfortable trimming her nails myself. I also like the fact that the grooming area is exposed to the store. They offer an incentive program. I believe ten washes and the eleventh is free. So for less than $30 Jenna looked as good as she has when she's visited the groomer which because of her size is about $65 plus she didn't have to spend any time in a cage. The only thing I would do different is bring my own shampoo. read more

Im a repeat customer who dropped off my dog today with a perfect condition Kong harness. When I went in to pick him back up the groomer handed me a chewed up unusable harness and said "oops sorry I didn't think he would chew this". Handed it to me and waved me off. I said (as I was looking at a wall full of harnesses) well that's not acceptable can you replace it with one of those? My dog has never chewed his harness. She said "I'll have to call Rachel". Then I get a call later from the owner who argues with me about replacing it and as I set some boundaries and review of expectations she said I wasn't nice. What ? How was this all my fault? Then after I got home my family members were looking at our dog grooming job and said he looks like a lamb and that the groom was terrible! I'd have to agree! I wasn't even complaining to them about the bad groom job I just wanted a functional harness like the one I showed up with! Terrible customer service. Will not return. I advise you go elsewhere where they will do a good job, be accountable for their work and supervision of your animal (why did my dog chew up his harness and also no one saw this). Called and made an appointment for out two dogs. Confirmed the day and time the day before since we have an account here. Come to find out that the person we talked to and made the appointment with DID NOT put us in the schedule. Of course they said they didn't know what happened and couldn't do anything about it so... sorry. In a competitive market for grooming I would think they would be more accommodating. This place sells great items made in the USA, and the prices a bit expensive but worth it, however, the prices just went up extremely high and worse the old lady clerk was extremely rude, always looks upset and is stressed and never smiles. when asked why an item cost $25 when the ticket shows $18 she complained about how she hates items priced out because then she'll have to change it the next day it goes up in price. last time I'll shop there. customer service sucks. items are great. read more
