The overpowering smell of cat urine, fecal matter, and ammonia greet you at the door. The condition of the pet area is unclean. I think because they're so busy, it can be hard to sanitize/clean up, but I decided after dropping off my pets three times, enough was enough. Maybe they need more people grooming to keep up with the intake of animals, maybe they need staff to clean it daily. There are also random people/children just hanging out in the "waiting area." Friends/relatives of Rachel? Not sure. It's not a big place so seeing kids playing on their phones in their PJs when you're dropping off or picking up your animals doesn't give you a feeling of professionalism. This isn't the place where I feel comfortable that my animals are safe.

Until I took them in and heard my poor little crippled dog YELP as he was apparently either being positioned or set down too hard on the grooming table. My dog never yelps, you have to really hurt him for him to react verbally because he is an Alpha dog. When the groomer brought him out to me I asked why I heard him yelp right after she carried him back there. She heard me but refused to answer my question. I paid my $10 or whatever it was and never went back. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS GROOMER - Your dog does not deserve a groomer that cannot even be gentle with an elderly crippled up little dog! My dogs are both used to grooming and nail trims, since we have gone every 2 weeks for years for their trims wherever we live. We went back to our vet. Twice the price but they love my dogs and treat them with great care. My dog are worth paying more to keep them safe! BUYER BEWARE !!

This was the 1st of what was supposed to be several cuts over time. I was in shock when I picked my baby up (after paying before seeing her new cut). I was charged more than originally quoted, told an extra service was done? I was not informed of this during payment. I was only told; after questioning if next time would be same price? After my baby was brought out to me, I was devastated. Her collar was falling off due to so much hair removed. I was in shock. I literally sat in my car and cried for several minutes. After examining at home, I discovered the inside of her thighs were shaved to the skin. My poor baby would not even come near me for 2 days The fat, happy fur baby I once had, is now just a shaved down mess. I should have been informed at pick up of extra service performed and that they shaved her! I now have a traumatized, older dog that will take months to recoup. The hair is for natural protection, now I must worry of sunburn, heat stroke and skin issues. If you are not familiar with grooming certain breeds--- don't brag that you are.

My dog cannot help his illness and I took them when he had already done his business at home so no surprise messes would happen and they didn't. If you have an aversion to dogs with common issues like diahrrea that they cannot help, I would think you would be more comfortable owning a business where you don't encounter them. The other worker there was very nice, and clearly compassionate, but the owner was not. I'm glad I did not leave my dogs there to be groomed by someone without compassion.

Before finding Annie's Place we tried other places in town, and our dog came hope traumatized. We found Annie's to be the best. Our dog never left shaking and scared, he did want to leave bet never left scared. I especially like that their dogs that are sometimes there, are friendly and so sweet. I feel if your pet is friendly then you too are friendly to your pet. Although, I am kind of friendly and my dog is evil. LOL there goes that theory. I did call once and was denied an appointment, but that was because the young lady failed to realize I was an existing customer. Once she did, she apologized profusely. Just be mindful that in WF you must have established care in order to be seen by a vet, apparently even in emergencies. With that said, I'm so glad this place was recommended to me and plan to stay with them for as long as we're stationed here. For those living on base (we don't) this is incredibly convenient in terms of location, too.

After surgery performed by Dr. Wade, we were told there was nothing found and the real issue is a parasite. A lot of medication was given to our dog, which ultimately made him to get worse. The surgery itself was poorly done, and the diagnosis he provided was not what was actually wrong. Our pet's condition continued to decline, despite multiple visits and reassurances that everything was fine. We spent thousands of dollars on care that did nothing to help and ultimately made things worse. When another hospital -- Colonial Park Veterinary Hospital -- evaluated our pet, they immediately found the real problem and provided the treatment that saved his life. Shortly after we raised our concerns, we received a letter from Dr. Wade stating our pet was no longer welcome at A Caring Heart. Given the outcome, that decision speaks for itself. While most of the staff were kind & helpful (they just follow orders from Dr Wade), Dr. Wade's surgery, diagnosis, and overall care fell far below an acceptable standard. I would strongly recommend seeking veterinary care elsewhere.
