I love dogs, but Planet Bark is truly run by "dog people" who take it to the next level. They really have gotten to know my dog "as a person" and give him tons of personalized attention, starting with greeting him warmly when he hits the door. When we have a boarding visit they take the time to ask about his routine and do extra things to cheer him up like adding cheese or other treats to his food to make sure he eats when we're away. They've been instrumental in helping to socialize my dog and make him comfortable around other dogs. I can't imagine bringing my dogs anywhere else for daycare or boarding.

These ladies are beyond sweet, and the love they have for what they do and, more importantly, the animals they service is just so evident. Believe it or not, one of my dogs, who is usually quite apprehensive about grooming (she nearly hyperventilates) and meeting new people, took to Jessica instantly! Seeing my dog run to Jessica upon arrival without even knowing her instantly made me feel at ease, because dogs KNOW who they can trust. What's more, after their pampering session, both of my dogs were reluctant to leave. Please please ask to see where the dogs are kept during the day, your dog will be left in a crate…read moreall day on a cement floor with no blankets, kennel sprayed with water and left not fully dried when they use the bathroom( and sometimes even the dog sprayed out of carelessness) , and if signed up for daycare don't be fooled they get to play in a room for a short amount of time and then will be put right back in those wet cement crates. If your dog is signed up for walks it goes around that little path out in front of the place and then right back into the crates. The workers will mishandle your dogs, call them cruel names, and physically push them where they want them to go. Your dogs are not being treated the way you think, if they seem happy when you pick them up it's because they are so relieved to be out of this awful place NOT because they had a good time.

My father called Paige asking If Blaze could be groomed before the whole family came for the weekend as this could be the last time we were all together with him. Not only did Paige call him back first thing and tell my dad to bring him in right away but she groomed him without any other dogs there as we didn't want to over excite him. A gesture like that shows someone who truly cares and is passionate in what they do. Paige I am eternally grateful for the kindness you showed my dog today. The staff provide probably the friendliest, most helpful service I've ever received from a business, ever. I'm not being hyperbolic. They're always smiling, enthusiastic, helpful and knowledgeable. And human! I actually feel like I'm talking to human beings and not just someone who's paid to talk to me. This cannot be understated for a service business. The service is self-serve, but they're more than happy to help you with everything save actually washing your dog (it is self serve after all). They provide treats and will lend you a brush. You get two towels, but they'll always give you another if you need it (the air dryer for your station usually does the trick enough). They give you good shampoo for your pooch. The washing stations are well-maintained. There's hardly ever a station out of order. We go on weekends so there's no appointment needed. Cost is $21 which I think is a very fair price. Probably one of the best run businesses I've ever encountered. There's no reason not to go if you're in a 15 mile radius.

They had one bay at ground level for no-stair service for elderly dogs, and then at least 4 elevated tubs so pet owners don't have to stoop over. Each bay had a gated area to unleash my dog first and fold down stairs for my dog to walk up the stairs into the sink (no dice, we just picked ours up). Service was easy, they offered several shampoo selections that were included in the price of $18 for a wash, the stainless tubs were spacious and had easy access to tethers, a spray hose which was easy to regulate water temperature, drying towels, and a blow dryer with speed that you can control. They even offered me an apron to wear so I wouldn't get soaked and treats for during/after to help. Best part is you leave the items in the bay and walk out, they do the cleaning from there. Clearly owned/operated by dog lovers. Will definitely frequent between our dog's other grooming appointments. So thankful for the service and that I don't have to do in my own home and fuss over clean up and dog hair down the drain. We tried Petvalu in Canton before but they closed.

I'm sure we've all been there, when you ask for a trim (for yourself) and get way too much hair cut off. Well, she was making sure I knew what I was asking for for my pup as well, so that I wasn't shocked when she did what I thought I wanted and picked her up a little while later. My pup can be nervous and get anxious but Amanda was able to handle her and groom her so that she was looking amazing with her new cut, and smelling even better when I arrived to pick her up! I'd definitely recommend this place to any dog owner, and you can tell that Amanda is passionate about her work and A TRUE ANIMAL LOVER!!! At the first appointment Dr. Hilliard barely examined my cat in fact she barely looked me in the eye. I spent most of the time in the examination room with the technician. Dr Hilliard had blood and urine work done and diagnosed my cat with diabetes. She prescribed Lantus Insulin and insisted I put my cat through an 8 hour curve in their facility to check his blood sugar levels In a few weeks. Every time I bought my cat in there the technicians were so incompetent they got my cats weight wrong. When I mentioned this to Dr. Hilliard she said I should get over it and move on. Dr. Hilliard claimed my cat was very ill and in dire need of fluids and should be hospitalized. I suggested giving him the fluids myself. The fluids were pricey but I picked them up from their pharmacy and began giving my cat fluids. When I showed up with my cat for the curve, which was rather expensive. The technician was rude and told me she had a lot of patients and did not have time to answer any of my questions and that my cat was due for a rabies shot. When I asked if my cat was well enough for a rabies shot and if Dr. Hillard had authorized it they had no answer. Then the manager Ann-Marie started telling me horror stories about how they may have to euthanize my cat if he bit someone on the staff. Mind you my cat is sweet and docile and has never bitten anyone. Dr. Hilliard later admitted that this rabies shot fiasco was her mistake and that my cat was not well enough for it. They decided not to give my cat a rabies shot and performed the curve. Dr. Hilliard typically communicated with me by email and treated me as if I was an annoyance. When I complained about her indifference she accused me of "threatening" her and suggested that I find another Vet. The Manager Ann-Marie said no other Vet there was willing to work with me and that they really prefer Dogs at that hospital. Everyone that works at Roaring Brook is White which normally wouldn't matter except that most of them seemed a bit sheltered and didn't seem to want to interact with someone outside of their race at all and labeled me difficult because I had standards and expected them to be competent. The Manager Ann-Marie was caring enough to suggest some other facilities one of which was PAWS in Avon and so I have been taking my cat there and what a difference the doctors and technicians there are wonderful. I found out Dr. Hilliard recommended to high an insulin dosage for my cat after that curve, which is downright dangerous. PAWS allows me to do my cats curves at home with an Alpha Trak 3 (which I purchased from them) and they review the results for me. Everyone answers my questions and treats me with dignity and respect. I can check my cats blood sugar levels with the Alpha whenever I want. I will be taking all my cats to PAWS. I would steer clear of Roaring Brook. I find it hard to believe they have any good reviews. The only thing they are good at is getting paid for substandard treatment. Everyone there goes on and on about how many years experience they have and how busy they are but the treatment is riddled with careless mistakes.
