I was skeptical bringing my dog to a new groomer. I read some good reviews and though I give it a shot. It's been a couple of months since my dog has gotten groomed. Previous groomer didn't give home a nice cut. Shaylee took great care of him. He was matted up and I knew it would take some time to get him fixed up. We've actually been using this place for several years without too much issue for boarding/grooming services. There was one boarding incident where 1 of our 2 dogs came back with a ton of scabs on his back, but did not get any clarification on that issue. However, yesterday we took our two Brittany's in for a walk-in nail trim. While we were waiting, I witnessed D (just using her first initial) leave a dog unattended on the grooming table. For clarification, these grooming tables are raised a good distance from the ground, and the dog is only secured by a cord around their necks. When she got to our second dog, she immediately clipped a huge chunk of one of his nails off, which caused a TON of bleeding (the quick was not knicked, it was cut into very badly). She then proceeded to leave him unattended to look for additional supplies. He started to twist around with the cord around his neck and proceeded to fall off the table. He was literally hanging by his neck. This could have ended very badly (crushed windpipe, broken neck, death). Best case scenario, D has a lack of common sense practices/ignorance and worst case, a sense of indifference to her job. Either way, I doubt this was the first instance of something like this, as my dog was second in a row she left by itself on the table. I don't really leave reviews, but in this case people should be informed about the environment they are leaving their pets in. People love their animals and pay good money for these services. When the level of care and respect you are paying for is not given, it's infuriating. Makes me wonder what happens when the customer is not around to watch. read more

I took my family on a short weekend road trip and wanted to find somewhere to board my 13 year old beagle mix. I haven't been too happy with other places I've tried but this one has high ratings so I gave it a shot. First, this is a gutted and refinished house. The yard is split into a couple large fenced sections and inside there are several more open sections with gates. Interesting building for sure. To stay, you have to bring your dog in for an assessment. This is about temperament since the dogs are grouped together by size in large open pens and rotated between inside and outside. I don't mind. My beagle is a sweet old lady who mostly sleeps. It was like $11 though, which I think is odd for me to pay to have the boarding place even consider boarding her. Once that was done I set the dates and took her down on the day I was leaving. It would be for two nights and most of another day, which is charged as daycare rather than boarding, so that's nice. They were also flexible on my return date If I couldn't have gotten back by 4 PM, I would have had to just board her another night. She seems to have adapted well. She is an indoor dog, but the time here had large portions of outdoor time. One hiccup was that she was supposed to get her nails sanded down for $15. When I was on my way to get her I called and asked if it was done and assured it was. Unfortunately they were just clipped. It isn't a big deal for outdoor dogs, but indoor dogs snag sharp edges on rugs, carpet, etc. The attendant said I could bring her back for the sanding this week or get a refund for the difference ($5). I didn't go back. Too far for this. The other thing I'm not a huge fan of is the lack of invoice. I just got a receipt to sign and add an optional tip. No list of charges. I asked for a break down but I'm still not 100% certain I was charged what I was told as it's about $15 higher than what I thought it would be. Is this tax? Did they charge more than they said? No idea. Will I take her back? I'm not against it. But I'll need a little more clarity on charges. read more

My dog's ears were not cleaned again. When I said to the people at the counter his ears were not cleaned or plucked after I checked them, the people at the counter said to me, "They don't pluck too much hair so it won't irritate the dogs ears." They appeared to be expecting to give me this rehearsed answer. They told me to take him to the groomer. I asked, "Do you want me to take him", they said, yes. First time this happened, for in the past the person at the counter would kindly walk him over. (they would always forget to do something like trimming his nails, not shaving his feet, not plucking his ears, etc.) There were 3 people at the counter. I caught the female on the right making faces to the other two as I turned back before exiting towards the groomer as they had instructed me to do. I told Katrina my dog's ears were dirty and still had hair in them. (It was the same amount as when I dropped him off.) She said she did his ears and proceeded to patronize me with her ridiculous reason. She said, "You can't pluck too much hair out of a dogs ears because it irritates, he shook his head." She said, "You can remove clumps, but it's okay to have hair left in the ears." Not once did she say, let me take a look, or how can I fix this. I have taken my dog to a Veterinary clinic for years to get their ears plucked and the "Doctors" never gave me excuses like she did. Veterinary Doctors thoroughly cleaned and plucked my poodle's ears. I also groomed my poodle for 11 years. I have cleaned and plucked my dogs ears with no irritation to my dog. Someone at Doggie's Day Out actually cleaned his ears correctly in the past. Katrina did a sloppy job and used her created & insulting information to justify my dogs DIRTY ears that were NOT cleaned or plucked. I didn't answer her ridiculously condescending reason for giving me subpar service because her face was resolute and passive aggressive. I said, okay, and walked out. The person behaving inappropriately by making faces behind my back came outside, as I put my dog into the car, to confront me about not paying after I had just walked out of the groomers side, WHERE THEY HAD SENT ME. As I put my dog into the car she said to me, "You didn't pay" with an inappropriate tone and aggression. I was standing outside of my car, with my credit card in my hand about to go back inside to pay. I answered her sharply for coming towards me to accuse me of doing to them what they had obviously done to me. What's curious is why did they give themselves permission to behave this way towards "me". This young lady and Katrina both lack integrity, are unprofessional, and behaved ugly. They treated me like trash. This place used to be nice. Never perfect, but friendly and respectful. If there was ever a mistake they pleasantly and quickly fixed it. Not anymore. Someone called and apologized for a groomer neglecting to clean his ears the last time he was groomed. They were kind and said they didn't want to lose my business. We gave it another try and used the groomer they suggested and we wholeheartedly regret it. We won't be returning to sign up for horrible service and abuse. *The pictures show my dog's ears before and after I cleaned and plucked them myself. Let me start by saying I have a labradoodle that HATES being brushed. He has an allergy to nature, so he picks at his skin. The groomer are so sweet with him, they always sugar coat that he was a little crazy (I know he probably drives them nuts, he drives me nuts when it comes to grooming.) They have trimmed him & he looked amazing. I have never noticed any cuts, discomfort, etc when he gets home. Today I talked to the groomer, I told her my at home struggle, and we agreed that a shorter cut was more his style. I was so nervous, but he looks so good. I am not happy with this place at all after my granddog went to get a haircut today. He is a golden doodle who has had the same cut each time. Today they messed up his cut so bad especially on his leg. My son talked to the manager to try to make this right and she said a service was done so had to be paid but this was clearly not the service that was asked for. This is horrible I am not happy with this place at all. Terrible! We went for a bath and nail trims. He stinks worst than before we went in, I guess it's the shampoo or the spray but he feels oily and I'm gonna have to give him another bath! His nails is what bothers me most! They are splitting off the sides, like a hang nail! They are not filed down, very rough on the edges. Some of them look to be cut to close to the quick. My dog loves this place! I stop at the light before and he knows exactly where we are going. I can't even get him in the door fast enough because he is just that excited. He always comes back tired and well exercised. I started bringing him because he was attacked by a dog within a month of adopting him when prior, he loved all types of dogs. I didn't want to warp his perception of dogs to play with. He has since shown his true personality of being energetic and corky. We recently relocated from out of state to Murfreesboro and desperately needed our dog groomed. I called several groomers in the area to talk with them about his breed and what we were looking for. I let them know that he would be pre-medicated for the appointment due to anxiety from bad experiences in the past where he was traumatized. They assured me that they had worked with dogs like him in the past and it would be no problem. The cut I wanted is one of the easiest things ever (E guard all over body and scissoring the stray pieces around his face) and yes I can say it's easy because I've done it myself however being 8 months pregnant I didn't want to fool with it when I could pay to have it done. The cut they did on him was absolutely just botched. He is uneven everywhere and some places don't even look as if they've been touched. The did not trim his tail at all and where they scissored around his face is lopsided. He also had a cut in his paw pad we found when we brought him home and now he refuses to let even me touch his feet. They also lost his leash. I called twice to speak with a manager about my experience, because in my opinion paying $80 for my dog to be brought back to me looking the way he does is frustrating, only to be told the manager wasn't in and to leave my name and number and the manager would call me back which never happened. Overall this place has been a nightmare for us and we will most definitely not be coming here again. read more

Not Doggie's Day Out blocking me from leaving a review after deleting this that's okay sisters, I've got plenty of other resources and I was trying to keep it civil We have been bringing our 3 huskies to DDO for YEARS and have always been really happy with the groomers and the services. However, the last 2 times we brought them have been terrible. Last time, they said they didn't have the staff to do a de-shed and only bathed them. We understood that something like that can be out of their control so we said okay and moved on from it. Fast forward a couple of months and my husband attempts to call 3-4 times with no answer at all ?????? So I called, immediately someone answered and knew our dogs and scheduled us for our usual. No problems. My husband goes to pick them up this afternoon and they're not only extremely rude to him but have the actual audacity to complain about how they're "too much for them to handle even though they're well-behaved dogs". Overall that experience was unprofessional, discouraging and leaves me to wonder how they treat our dogs while they are there if they have the nerve to express their frustration over them. It embarrasses me to hear that a professional dog grooming establishment can be "overwhelmed" by 3 extra dogs when that's what they are there to service. Furthermore, I would have liked to have been told that upon scheduling so I could pay someone else to love and care for my dogs. For the record, getting a party of 12 people at a restaurant is overwhelming but I can assure you the manager isn't going to go to the table and recommend they only come in with half the people next time or to not come in at all This also leads me to believe they recognized my husbands phone number and intentionally did not schedule him, and the experience from today proves that to me very easily. My dog gets very stressed when I board her and I think it's partly from being confined all day. I decided to try Doggie's Day Out which advertises pet boarding in a homestyle, cage-free environment in addition to doggie day care and grooming. When I picked Cassie up from her first stay she was much less crazy than she normally is after she's been boarded. After her second stay she wasn't crazy at all. She almost acted like she had forgotten who I was and wanted to stay there. The staff have always been great. They let me call to check on her and have answered all my questions. You do need to bring your dog in for a pre-screening appointment where they check your dog will get along with the other dogs. There is a small charge (I think it was $12-13) associated with this appointment. I haven't used their pet bakery or grooming services but those are offered too. The boarding costs about $40/night, which is higher than other places I've used, but is well worth the cost. I would highly recommend this place and will definitely be taking Cassie back if I need to board her again. I will probably be taking her in for doggie day care too. She is a rescue dog and wasn't very well socialized when I adopted her. She didn't know how to play with other dogs, but after two stays she now plays with the other dogs in my apartment complex. After having used another facility for years that in the past had been great I left them in search of a facility to board, bath and provide playtime after having issues with the other place. They're not as large, but their staff is professional, my pit bull mix, Chance, loves coming here and is worn out at the end of a day of play. I love this place and so does Chance. I brought my labradoodle in for a hair cut. From what they told me how they would cut my dog hair I decided to not have it cut. I asked them have they started the process and they said no. I told them I'm on my way back to pick up my dog which was only 3 mins after dropping vn we off and they told me there's a $25 cancellation fee. When I got there I asked to show me the cancellation policy because I was never told about it. She said she don't have one to show me but she have to charge me $25 for spraying down my dog with water. I took my dog back with water dripping and paid the $25 that was basically stolen from me. Spraying down my dog with water after they said they didn't start the process yet and charge me $25? At least Dey my dog a little then. Never will I return and I hope future customers don't get scammed like I did. I don't like confrontation so I'd gladly pay the small fee to learn a valuable lesson. Take your money and lovely pets elsewhere. There are many places around to have to deal with this low star place. read more

This time I believe that she was not bathed but that they used dry shampoo--she is full of "powder" and doesn't smell fresh but doggie. I have had an experience with groomers doing this in the past. I was seeking out another groomer after being told by a big chain grooming salon that my dogs were too old to be groomed by them anymore. I felt, at the time, that that was an inappropriate thing to say and it was clear that they didn't have time for a 15 year old Golden Retriever who had trouble standing or a 13 year old Maltese who didn't "like the dryer", even though not liking the dryer isn't isolated to elderly dogs. So I called Doggie's Day Out. I was told that they had just brought on a groomer that specializes in special needs dogs, elderly ones included. I went to that appointment today and it was great. She affirmed that what that other grooming salon said was nonsense and she took great care of my two dogs. She even carried my 80lb Golden Retriever out and put him in the car for me. She went above and beyond...not only in her communication with me but in the way she treated my dogs. After feeling hopeless with the other groomer, I am so relieved to find Pearl at Doggie's Day Out. I have no hesitation in recommending their grooming services to others! read more

I am giving this company three and a half stars. I bought a Groupon for four nights of cage-free boarding for our dog to use over the holidays. And, for the most part, I'm satisfied. Firstly, and most importantly, it appears our dog was well-taken care of when we were away. I think he was happy to come home, but probably enjoyed his time, nonetheless. I like the fact that the dogs can socialize and everything is cage-free. I would worry so much if we were gone and our dog was crated the entire time. The facility also looks very clean. One thing I think DDO can work in is their training of staff and customer service. It's apparent they all love dogs, but it's also important to me that people can work efficiently during check-out. We had a very long day, and just wanted to take our dog home. The girl working up front could not figure out how to put in our Groupon, and then she and another staff member spent a bunch of time turning the place upside down for two things that belonged to my dog that should have been labeled with his name and kept with his stuff. It took us twenty minutes to check-out, and it's stuff like that I'm not okay with. They knew I was coming, I told them what time. They should be able to check us out quickly and efficiently. Period. Also, I was irked that because we picked up our dog past their check-out time (I think it's noon), but still within operating hours, we were charged for an additional night's boarding. I would have gladly paid their daycare fee, but to charge for another night (at 42 dollars!) is ridiculous and a policy that in my opinion needs to be changed. It's something that could definitely affect whether we return again- especially if a similar facility has a better deal. read more

Fantastic! I'd switched from PETCO to here because I had a coupon,and that must have been divine intervention or something. Because when he'd come home from PETCO, he would always be incredibly stressed and lose fistfulls of hair and a few times came home with severe razor burn to the point that we had to take him to the vet. Thankfully there's a groomer in town that will care for your fur baby as much as you do! My dog is always happy to go and hates to leave.he seems to be spoiled by them!
