Doggone Lovely is a gem of a find!! Agree with others - this place is awesome! Found it by stopping a woman walking her long haired Old English Sheepdog to ask where it was groomes because her dog looked so good!! I was excited to bring our Bernadoodle here and even more thankful when I got the bill! Doggone's service and care for our Bernedoodle was much higher and their price is lower than pet store grooming! I would just suggest to customers - if you're tipping based on % of cost, to do it based on price of other places vs a % of price here. We tipped based on the price I paid at Petsmart's for the basic grooming ($130) and added bit more because it was totally deserved! Here they do to exactly what's asked for vs the other place that just basically shaves the dog unless you want to pay a fortune to add on any sort of other cut! I was so shocked that they'd done that when I came to pick up our dog! I would recommend Doggone Lovely to everyone - just don't take up all of the appointments on me ;-) read more

They do an alright job grooming, and for good prices. But I have picked up my dog twice from here and each time i've heard them screaming at the dogs in the back. My husband took our dog here to have her nails clipped. She is extremely difficult and our experience at other places has been traumatic for everyone concerned. The poor thing was actually limping her nails were so long. My husband read the reviews and decided to give this place a try. He told me the place wasn't the cleanest but they got the job done! Took my dog here a few times and they BUTCHERED him. They also cut the dog. They cut his whiskers off (he is an old dog and has eyesight problems so he needs them. They blamed my dog for his hair cut (he is so old and he will just sit there and stay there). They scream at the dogs to shut up. They complained to me about my dog making too much noise. I cannot recommend this place enough. Brought my 13 year old Himalayan cat, Bonnie, for a bath, nail trim & lion's cut today. They did an excellent job!! I brought her elsewhere back in March & she was traumatized & was shaking for about 3 days after & a couple of spots were shaved down to the skin. Brought her home today & she couldn't be any calmer. We use Doggone Lovely in Quincy for grooming our rescue American Eskimo dogs. This breed has a tendency to mat and the ladies at Doggone Lovely are masterful in preserving the eskie coat. My dog HATES getting his nails clipped. When I try to do it at home, he tries to bite me. He has been blacklisted from pets mart and another groomer, who recommended he go to the vet and get sedated to get his nails clipped. (He is 8 lbs) I took him to Doggone Lovely, and they are fantastic! A helper holds him down and tells him how sweet and special he is, while another woman cuts his nails in less then a minute... all for under $5. read more

I took my dog here for the first time because the place we used to go to has recently closed. I have to say I was skeptical at first because the place itself looked pretty run down, but they did an amazing job. I have a Havanese and Maltese mix and I had a specific look in mind, the owner did exactly what I asked. The other thing I liked was that I didn't have to make an appointment. She just asked me to drop off the dog anytime before noon, which is convenient for us. I will definitely return to this place for future grooming. read more

We take our fluffy old cat ISIS for a bath and shave regularly and she loves it. She mew's all the way there and on the way home she is very quiet and content. Our cat 19 years old and I would not trust her to just anyone. read more

I needed a groom for my 9 yr old Shih Tzu ASAP and after calling around this place was able to get me in the next day. The groomer was extremely nice on the phone, even suggested me bringing a photo of what I wanted my dog to look like! Like many reviews before, do not be intimidated by the rundown store front. After meeting the groomer I was sure Leia would be fine. I was able to drop my dog off as early as 6am and she was done by 11am. This is possibly the best job a groomer has ever done on my dog. She usually will be cut too short leading to hot spots or nicks that turn into infections, but none this time! We will be back!!! read more

I agree with the last reviewer that the place does look a little run down but if you don't judge a book by its cover its actually a great place. I am always just as happy with the results as I was paying much more at a "fancier" looking groomer. The woman who always greets me there is always very nice and seems to be good with my dogs. I can't complain with good customer service, flexible hours, always accommodating last minute appointments, great pricing and great results! Also, at other groomers I have always noticed nicks on my dogs skin that made me concerned and my dog used to have a large wart I would inform them about to be careful of and I would still always find the wart nicked too. The wart has since been removed by the vet but at this groomer I never notice nicks and she also listened to me about his wart as I never noticed that nicked either. I really appreciate that care and it makes me feel more comfortable leaving my "four legged babies" there! :) read more
