This store carries my dog's Fromm food and other quality pet products. During the pandemic, they have continued to stay open and are providing curbside service. I recently learned that they have a parking lot directly behind the building, so it's nice to have the option to park off of the main street. Service has been friendly and efficient the few times I have been here! read more

I am making this review for the sole reason that I hope the owner reads this and reconsiders the type of customer service they choose to utilize. When I found this place online I was extremely optimistic about it since they sell the dog I drive 35 minutes to buy. First of all, what dog store doesn't allow dogs inside, I think that's ridiculous and was a major drawback but I decided to give it another shot and go in alone. When I go in I'm already slightly annoyed by the fact that half of the products prices aren't visibly marked, which forced me to go to the counter and inquire about prices... which is where I went wrong. After spending 45 dollars on dog paraphernalia, I ask about the pricing of the dog food I regularly buy, after being told I was incorrect about the color of the bag (which I was not, I have the food sitting in my kitchen) I get told the price, which I know is not correct bc she told me the price of the other line of dog food from the same brand. I then drop it because I've given up at this point, she then follows with "does that sound too expensive for you?". Like is this a joke, Is this how you speak to all your customers? I spend a lot of time and money on my dog and probably would have gone in their on a weekly basis getting things for him since it's on my way home from work, but now I will never step foot in there and will happily drive 35 minutes to a dog store that isn't rude to me or questions my ability to afford the dog food I choose to buy. The woman was condescending and rude when she spoke to me and I hope this review helps change the culture in that store. If I could give it 0 stars I would. read more

3-21-13 I'm upgrading my review from 2 to 5 stars, because truly, they have become as good as it gets as far as pet needs, since that first visit. The previous experience in my original review was a fluke, and/or they've improved for sure during the number of return visits I've made since then. I'm very sorry I hadn't updated this review sooner. Please spread the word about this spacious, clean and pleasant shop. I would recommend taking the time to go through the steps to read the five 2012 filtered reviews for more details about their services and offerings. Excepting the reviewer attempting to dismiss my review regarding signs that one can't "actually see from the street," (isn't that the point of proper signage?!) everything else reviewed up to this date is accurate. I've continued to shop here, because really, they are the only shop in the Lehigh Valley, (of which I'm aware) that carries such an extensive line of organic, raw and hard to find healthy pet foods, and I prefer to shop at local, small businesses instead of large chains to help the local community whenever possible. They do special orders and hold decent sales from time to time in which you can stock up. Amazon and other online webstores cannot compete with their regular prices, especially when you add shipping costs. 9-14-13 Update to below: I'm so happy to announce that they've added beautiful green awnings with their name boldly printed in white across them. As I was driving down the street yesterday, there was NO WAY TO MISS THEM and I wasn't even looking for them. What a wonderful improvement! Oddly enough, 7 months later, they continue to lack "proper" visible signage. Currently, there isn't a sign out front at all! For some odd reason, they are not utilizing a valuable "free" advertising opportunity to catch the public eye on their attached dog training facility. This attached plate glass storefront on the corner is what you will see from the street when approaching in your car from the North (Rt. 78 interchange or from Bethlehem), because you can view it from a clear angle provided by the intersecting street. (The actual small pet food shop sits next door, is recessed, and is virtually impossible to see when driving, because parked SUV's/trucks obstruct the view.) Until they utilize that great amazing space with large print signage, people will continue to drive by and never really know that they are there. A big bold-lettered sign in both front and side street windows of the training center would definitely attract the attention of hundreds of cars per day. They have a very spacious parking lot in back to save you the hassle of parallel parking on the busy main street. Traffic slows to a crawl every workday between 3:30 - 6 pm. (Avoid Hellertown at all costs at rush hour. If you are traveling from the south and back, you'll be fine. Learn the back ways if you are coming from the east or north or from Route 78 or you can get stuck over 30 minutes EACH way at that time of day.) read more

i can not say enough good things about Doggy Dao. We are all profoundly fortunate to have such easy access to the best quality food, toys and accessories here in the valley. The service is always absolutely personal and first rate, and the staff know both their products and their "customers" needs inside out. I love this store! Instead of wading through all the garbage at a chain pet store to try and find something with a high enough quality to give my dogs, I know that everything that they carry here is made from quality ingredients. The owner, Julie, really knows her stuff and is very forthcoming with advice on both the products that she carries and on solutions to any problems that we have (she was extremely helpful in our epic battle with fleas last year). The new store (I went to the old store Julie managed at the Promenade shops) is really nice- lots of space to display the products and an area for training classes. I love my dogs and am willing to spend the extra dollar to get them food that will make them live longer with a better quality of life- thank goodness for stores like this. read more

Wow, my experience could not have been more different than the first reviewers. Customer service has always been spectacular! I am an old client of Paws to Tails. The only reason I followed to Doggy Dao is their old manager Julie, now owner of Doggie Dao. Always kind and courteous and knowledgable and willing to dispense advise. Love love love this store. Clean and spacious and ONLY the best foods for my precious two dogs. Other big box pet stores and grocery store pet foods? Absolute garbage. Do not feed that junk to your animals, go to Doggy Dao. Sure it costs more, because its better and our pets are worth it. Looking forward to the training classes there as well. Thank goodness we have this store. PS, the parking is BETTER Than the Promenade, they have their own lot in the back of the store. 5 stars all the way! read more
