I took my elderly cat to LAH for several months bc he was acting out of character. Meowing a lot…read more Staring at walls. He was unable to jump. First vet told me he was crying in pain and recommended Silencia (cat arthritis med). It worked great for two months, but my cat didn't seem to benefit from the 3rd shot. He continued to decline. Not really moving. Except to go the bathroom or drink water or eat. And he meowed a lot. In a cat fight kind of voice. I could tell he was distressed. I took him back on 2-9. Vet gave ear drops for an ear infection. My cat had lost a lot of weight. Vet said to do blood tests. Tests came back and she called me and read the results back to me. But the numbers meant nothing to me but she kept reading. She suggested that I get another antibiotic "just in case" and to change his food to one that they sell. She was devoid of empathy. And at one point I said, "we love our cat, we don't want to keep him alive if he's in pain or his quality of life is poor." I was looking for guidance. She said nothing and resumed reading her test results. The following week his abdomen was greatly distended. And he was having trouble moving. I took him back to LAH. Front desk was super kind. No vets there Bc They don't start until later in the morning. Vet tech (also very kind) checked his vitals and said she couldn't diagnose, but she said he was very sick. She recommended Grady Animal Hospital for treatment. GAH told me he had a large mass in his liver. The mass pushed his organs out of their regular position. His heart was enlarged bc the heart had to work so hard bc of the organ positioning. They recommended euthanasia. LAH was incredibly dismissive of my concerns. And they missed this large liver mass which could actually be palpated. My cat needlessly suffered for months bc these vets wrote him off as an old "cranky" cat and none of them really listened to my concerns about his behavior or quality of life. We would never have made him suffer this long had we known how sick he really was.

I used their self wash service today for my dog. Each station was spacious and gated which made me…read morefeel secure if it were ever busy. It's set up like a coin laundromat where you can post for coins up front which equates to 5$ per coin. That coin will give you 7 minutes at their station to use their washing or drying facilities. The coin slot gives you the option to rinse, shampoo, conditioner, dry, flea and tic treatment, disinfect the wash station or turn it off. You cannot pause the timer. I was able to wash and mostly dry my dog in 14 minutes (she didn't like the dryer but it was powerful). My only tip would be to bring your own towels as they charge 1$ per towel. A great suggestion would be to have coat hangers and baskets in the wash station to put your purse in as you wash your pet. I had to swing my coat over divider and place my purse on the floor. They do offer other grooming services such as nail trim and anal glands at around 10$ at the time of this review.

Their employees clearly love caring for pets. My assigned "Pet Pal" dog walkers all know my dogs personally, as does the owner. Whenever anything has gone awry while I'm away the owner has always called me and managed the issue personally. When one of my dogs had a medical issue while I was out of town, they took him to the urgent care vet and stayed with him the whole time while he got treatment while keeping me updated, then took him back again the next day for his check up. I really appreciate that their "Pet Pals" send an update with photos every time they see the dogs.

They really like staying here and get really keyed up when they realize they are "going to camp" as we call it. We call once or twice while we are gone just to make sure everything is going well. Plus they are really well behaved for several days after they get home and rest a lot. The staff love them and enjoy playing with them. The staff's caring attitude really shows through. They often get a bath on their last day which gives them a clue that they are coming home. We can highly recommend WCPR and often do.

There are lots of other good vet offices in the region, but Mason Family Pet Hospital is my favorite. They charge reasonable prices, have convenient evening and weekend appointments and love my animals as if they were their own. I've moved away from the Mason area, first to downtown Cincinnati and then to Dayton, but I still drive back to Mason for my furbabies to be seen here as I know they will be taken care of well and I will be charged reasonable prices. Everyone here works super hard and their prices are fair. The staff probably deserves to be paid way than they ask, but they still keep things reasonable. The free nail trims are a wonderful benefit and save me lots as I'm too afraid to try clipping my pups nails on my own. I know I said it before, but the Vets and staff here are amazing. They often get on the ground to make my animals, especially my rabbit, feel more comfortable. They always take the time to explain things, especially when there are multiple treatment options and take financial aspects into consideration. Unlike other practices I've been to, they never pressure me into anything unnecessarily and I know that anything they recommend is really for the benefit of my animals. I've seen all the Vets here at least once, but my pup normally sees Dr. Mason and my rabbit typically sees Dr. Alesssi - both of whom are awesome. When my late dog had cancer in a rare place, I was impressed that Dr. Mason admitted he had never seen anything like my dog's case and recommended we see an expert for the best care. He, and all the staff here, were wonderful as we transitioned to palliative care of my dog keeping him comfortable and helping me stay informed so I felt confident in making tough end-of-life decisions.

Jeremy, the manager, refused to waive the late cancellation fee of $75 even with the obvious unavoidable and unforeseen circumstances. He would not reschedule her appt or keep the appt for my other cat unless the bill was paid. I requested their files to go to another vet. He has continued to email and text me the bill, including interest, and has threatened collections if not paid. Pathetic business practice and just lost over 5 pets in our family.
