After watching the review on Deco Drive we decided to give D-Dog House a try. What can I say "Dog Gone We Loved It! Woof Woof!" The restaurant is located in Brickell near many trendy and modern business's. It's not a big location but very cute and cozy. :) When you first arrive you are seated and are greeted by your server the IPad! "How modern is that?" The tables light up just like a disco dance floor! Cool! Your order is placed on the IPad, which you can pick and choose exactly what you want and don't want. Sure take your time ordering nobody is rushing you! The restaurant is mostly popular for their hot dogs but you can also order hamburgers, chicken wings, etc.. We ordered hot dogs and hamburgers and 2-for-1 margaritas. Our food arrived like 20 min. later. The food was very tasty and the portions as well were big. We ordered the California Hot dog, The Chorrizo Hot dog, and 2 American Burgers. The fun part is you can search the web or even play Pac-Man after ordering, which is great if you take your kids! I liked this place way more than La Moon. The food was so delicious and sinful. I felt so guilty after devouring my loaded fries and my gordita burger... I'm pretty sure I just inhaled 5000 calories. This place has a cool vibe and is intimate and dark. They also serve hookah which is nice. The fries are addictive. They tasted very fresh and had a nice texture. They have a variety of toppings like chili cheese, salchipapa, loaded with bacon and cheese and chives, and chimichurri to name a few. I wish I could eat this more often, but I don't want to clog my arteries. So I'll pace myself and come back once in a while when I feel like cheating on my diet. So I happened to be in Brickell twice this past weekend, and I also happened to eat here at the end of both of those nights. I am now changing my review from 2 stars to 5 stars. The food is as delicious as always. The difference since my last review is service. Both Friday and Saturday had this place fuller than I can remember, and both nights the service was better than I can remember. This wasn't just an improvement from bad to okay. The service was actually great! Waters were refilled, order was taken almost as soon as I arrived, and the food came out very quickly with no mistakes! You must get the chicken quesadillas with all the fixings on top. The French fries are bomb diggity. And we tried the grilled wings for the first time: very good. Had a late night bite here the other night and I'm honestly conflicted about whether I like this spot or not. The food was actually super tasty and I would highly recommend the tofu wrap! However the service was meh and the loud music and hookah smoking wasn't very conducive to a pleasant meal. I would recommend for take out or delivery but perhaps not to dine in. The server got my mans order wrong because he asked for no peppers and onions on his Philly cheesesteak sandwich, when it came out it had peppers on it. I ordered a quesadilla and added steak. Which is an up charge of course. The food came quick but I noticed there was hardly any steak in two of my quesadillas. I politely showed the bartender (it's the short girl with blonde highlights and a fake pony tail extension) and her whole demeanor changed as she says "well that's just how they are. All the meat is pre measured" but my friend who also got the same exact order as me, had steak all throughout his quesadilla and actually looked like he had more steak than I had throughout all my pieces. When we explained this to her she said "well some of your pieces have more meat in them than the others" which honestly is a matter of opinion bc it really looked like my friend had an abundance of steak throughout his while I had two regular pieces with steak, and my other two pieces with mostly cheese. Regardless of who is right in this situation, I was clearly unhappy and instead of trying to make it right with us, she gave me an attitude, basically told me I was wrong, and offered us nothing! Isn't the customer always right? We asked if they could at least make me two new quesadilla pieces with meat actually in them since what I ordered was a steak quesadilla and not half cheese, half steak. She literally ignored us and walked away. When I started taking pictures of my food, she comes back over to us with an even bigger attitude and blames her terrible service on the fact that her English is not good (her English is amazing by the way- there's literally nothing wrong with her english and even if her English was bad, it doesn't excuse her poor attitude) and then tells us she can give us a 15% discount (which still did not cover the amount of what my meal cost). One of my favorite places in Mary Brickell!! I go there for the hookah and also for the Colombian hot dogs. I have been to Colombia a few times and this place does them justice. Not perfect, but pretty decent. I've also been here on a night when they had a beer promotion and received free beer all night. It was great. The music is always good and the staff takes requests for songs. The ambience is relaxed and they even have couches with cushions while you smoke hookah for that laid back vibe. Hookahs are made in a timely fashion and there is always a fresh coal ready to go. They're drink specials are great on certain days and I love the digital menus. Great staff, food, music, and hookah. Terrible experience. I'm new to Brickell and decided to try this place out at 2:30 AM. The server Roger takes the cake for the worst customer service I have ever had to endure. Literally had to stand up to go get him for every little thing since his presence was nonexistent. He was sitting down talking with a girl the entire time and acted like my presence in the restaurant was an inconvenience to him. The food I ordered was ok, overpriced, and came with two sauces I did not want. Upon asking him, came to find out there were other sauces available I preferred but was never told about (of course). He brought me the sauces and I finished my food. Total outrage followed when I received the check and learned there was a $4 service charge automatically added. When I confronted him about it he told me the charge was "for this" pointing at him and the other girl. Really?! You mean for terrible customer service?? He told me the charge could not be removed but that I didn't have to tip on top of that... gee thanks. To add insult to injury, he then tells me "keep in mind I didn't charge you for the extra sauces........" yea.. the extra sauces that I would have wanted instead of the ones you brought because you didn't bother to ask nor tell me the options beforehand. The girl I went with got sick from the food and was throwing up after. Honestly, don't waste your time with this place. Do yourself a favor and walk to Le Sandwicherie, or drive to another late night Colombian place... or Mcdonald's... or Dennys... or just don't eat, anything but go to this place. 0 star review from me Update: Sean the owner reached out to me and went above and beyond to rectify the situation. He gave me a full refund for my bad experience and gave me a free meal on the house. This time the service was much better, and tried the breakfast burger instead which was great. Overall very happy with how he handled the situation and goes to show you that one bad experience with a server doesn't necessarily reflect on the management and ownership. They seem like they were either over friEd and or old wings refried. They totally didn't give me all flats like i asked. So that put a damper on my craving for them. I was dragged here against my will with some friends after Critical Mass in July, only to walk out an hour later raving about how awesome their food was! Cozy and casual in the somewhat "uppity" Brickell area, I felt comfortable being there. They highlight the iPads at the table to order the food, which was cool except for a few small bugs (can't pay, small order mixup, ect). All in all this didn't really affect my experience but for a service snob they might take it more seriously. The food tasted amazing and I don't even like hot dogs! Our table tried the Columbian hot dog, Hawaiian burger, loaded fries and steak quesadilla. I'd order everything again next time I return. I felt the prices were great and the service was attentive.
