I said "I will try to make it when I can." At 1201 I received a call from the shop asking when I was going to be there. The woman said, "I have been waiting since 1030. Are you almost here because I have to leave soon." I never promised to be there at a certain time other than their scheduled appointment which was at 12. Each of my dog's baths take at least half an hour so it did not make sense that she said she had to leave soon. Unprofessional and rude that this woman is frustrated that I did not come in earlier to accommodate HER.

Walking in for the first time was the cutest thing. I looked to my left and saw an area for the dogs to be able to sit for instagram photo ops. I just loved that. Right in front were tons of different toys and birthday treats which is exactly what we were interested in for our girls. The employees were friendly and asked if there was any assistance that we needed but with everything on beautiful display it wasn't hard for us to pick what items we wanted to get them. As an everyday expense, I would say that this is a little high-end but for special occasions I think it's just perfect to be able to spoil your furry best friend(s). Our girls especially love dog friendly ice cream and they have that available so that was one of the number one items on our list. Once we got home with the girl's gifts and they got to enjoy them, and I would say they definitely gave them two paws up.

What's more, you WILL NOT FIND BETTER PRICING THAN JILLY'S! I called just every groomer in Hillsborough and Pinellas county whose website looked like they might groom cats. Most of them didn't and the groomers that do take cats cost well over $100 JUST for a haircut alone. I don't want to go advertising Jill's rates but I will say, for the quality of work she does, and the relief I have in knowing my cat was in the hands of someone who genuinely cares about his physical and mental wellbeing, I'd pay her $100 for a haircut if that's what it took to have her groom Puddy again. We have always recommended it family, friends, and strangers. That was until this last time. Our dog came home with a nick on his neck which they NEVER texted/called to let us know. This behavior is extremely unprofessional especially since we've had such good communication with them up until this recent visit. The nick looks like a perfect groomers square was done straight to our dog's skin in which when I had to contact them after the visit they said it was done beforehand. Again, no communication was received so unsure of this statement during our dog's appointment. As a dog parent, this makes me feel uneasy about any other services that they provide. We found this nick when our dog continued to scratch the same area and our dog couldn't put his head down or comfortably sleep. When I reached out, I was given ways to keep it clean from them but this was too late as this "nick" already caused our dog to be in a pillow of shame (and still is weeks later) as well as using recommended over the counter creams from our vet to alleviate the pain. We were lucky enough that this mark did not turn into an infection! However, it is crazy that one grooming appointment has turned into weeks of pain and uncomfortableness for our dog. If we had known about this during the appointment we would have been way more at ease about the entire situation. Sad to say this, but we will not be returning and will be taking our dog elsewhere. One appointment has turned into a massive headache as dog owners. Think twice before you book with them.

When I began to challenge and question, they replied that usually dogs show signs when this is needed. I responded that he had shown signs, has for weeks, and I've been doing this for six years with him and know when it's necessary. The staff was young and looked back at me with blank eyes. When I asked for a refund, since the service was not even done, I received a response of "I could get in trouble." Why not bring a manager out then? To not provide a needed service for my dog and then refuse to give me a refund is absurd.

Drop-off and pick-up are straightforward, and they stay close to the estimated timing. The staff handles Maxim appropriately, which is important for a larger, high-energy breed. Came to pick up and had an additional $40 charge for mat removal, that was not discussed or called to me. They stated we don't call to alert to additional cost/fees..WHAT? So, no need to address the cost associated to the service, I am just expected to cover no discussion? Please note, if called I would have approved if I understood the need, but while there could be areas to remove it was not anything of known nature or huge impact. Outcome: Poor Communication, Lack of corrective action when concerns presented and up charges for items not discussed. Be aware, services were wonderful until mid 2024 now I am questioning my provider options.
