TLDR: We have a nervous pup, but the amazing staff make him feel comfortable and we love it here. For my Wife and I, it's always been difficult to find a place that we feel comfortable coming to repeatedly for our dogs. Like, in terms of toys and treats, most pet places are fine and great, but in terms of self-grooming or baths, it's always a toss up it feels like. But Dogma was immediately welcoming and amazing. Our dog is a rescue and a little reactive, but the staff always know how to calm him and are patient and understanding. We feel a little bad about the fur (he's a husky/Akita mix) and always attempt to clean up our own mess, but every time we're stopped by the staff. Not in a "no, don't do that" sort of way, but always in a "oh, you guys already did all of that work bathing him. It's our turn now" sort of way. Every time they're always so amazing and you can tell they actually care. We've been coming to Dogma ever since and our scared little boy has never been so calm during a bath. 10/10 read more

We have looked locally for a groomer that would take our tripod lab with no luck. Even though it is a long drive, using Dogma is well worth it. They take such good care of him and he looks beautiful when they are done. And, we like washing our two other dogs in their tubs while we wait. They are a unique place indeed. read more

Annoying place. Went to wash my dog. It was 3.55pm. They told me the dog wash closed at 4pm. I said I would be quick and it was not yet 4pm. They said closed at 4pm meant the baths needed to be empty. I said if I arrived at 3.50 or 3.45pm would I have been able to wash my dog. They were not sure. The place closes at 5pm. How about you put a sign up or say something on your website about the hours the dog wash is open. I drove 25mins to get there. What time does the dog wash actually close? Went in today to "self wash" our boy Mo... a 12 month old Great Pyrénées. The staff was phenomenal and patient especially given the fact that I was a naive first timer. They taught me how to "blow" out his coat and dander and WE MADE A MESS of the grooming area... white fluff EVERYWHERE! They vacuumed up in an attempt to keep his shed from overrunning the store, provided tools and training on removing mats, helped me conquer his thick undercoat with a FURminator, showed me how to get a couple mats and how to use a dematting rake. Living in Denver ya might be wondering why I go to a pet shop in Evergreen? Well I was turned onto this store by a friend and seeing as I am usually up that way mtn biking, its no biggie to stop in and pick up a bag of dog food for my Border Collie Shep. Angel who helped me used to be a vet tech so she is very knowledgeable in everything dog and provided us with some free samples of dog food of the brands that I wanted to try. We settled on Earthborn Holistic coastal catch which is a quality grain free dog food that Shep woofs down like its going outta style! I picked up a new collar and have a wide selection including the Silverfoot brand which I like for being stylish, sturdy and reasonably priced. They offer grooming services and obviously a dog wash so if you are in the area check them out. read more

Ok only 1 time there today but I use Yelp and find the best places always. Rarely a disappointment. I took my dog in for self service dog wash, like $18 which is right on the money, really nice roomy clean room for the dog wash, nice staff, that will be my regular place going forward. Great selection of dog treats! And for me, a good Mexican restaurant/bar next door that looks interesting, plus a good looking burger joint to check out, all right next to Dogma. We drove out from Denver to wash our dog on a Sunday. We got there at 4pm; they close at 5. The girl said we were too late; they take their last dog at 4pm. Seeing that there was an open bath tub, I looked at my phone and the time was 4:02. When I told her that, she just shrugged her shoulders. We won't be coming back. read more

I come to Dogma every week to buy dog food that they have to special order. The staff is extremely friendly and they even let me set up a house account that they can withdraw the cost of dogfood from that so I can just grab and go. I can call ahead and they will make sure they have it upstairs (since they have some of their inventory in storage below), and they ever offer to carry it to the car for me. read more

Very disappointed. My first visit will be my last. The staff were strangely unwelcoming and seemed to be passively shaming me because my dog was difficult when they brushed him out. The first thing I hear is, "he was awful, we had to muzzle him.". I also had to INSIST they trim the hair on his back paws. Why? Why is that not an automatic procedure to groom all 4 paws? Bummer. LOVE this place! We have a Silky Terrier and a feisty, oversized Yorkie (who thinks he's a German Shepherd). The staff at Dogma takes great care of them and the grooming is terrific. They have just about every product you'd want for your furry best friends. 5 stars for their dog wash and outstanding supplies. Solid 2 stars for the totally judgmental staff. Twice I've come in here to get help with dog's nails, and twice it was like the "Interrogation Zone". One dog of mine was a stray with LONG nails for years when we got her. As such, per our VET, her quick had grown out longer than is the norm, which apparently can happen if the nails are left long for years. The girl that was helping me cut her nails was SO rude about this and was lecturing me about how bad it is for dogs to have such long nails. She basically rolled her eyes when I explained the dog's past and her nails, and kept saying that's not accurate and they just needed to be cut shorter. She then proceeded to cut a nail, or rather she cut the quick, and my dog bled like MAD. I left that day. Wouldn't let them finish. Came back with another dog I was pet-sitting for a bath and a nail trim. Was COMPLETELY floored at the comments about the dog's weight, and how the owners know better (one of the owners was a former employee). When I explained that this dog had actually been a bigger girl from BIRTH and also that she was healthy PER THE VET, she literally cocked her head to the side, looked at the dog, and said, "Ohhhhhhkayyyyyyyy". Honestly I won't go back now, which is a shame, because the supplies are top notch. Really, if you're not a vet, you should NOT be so judgmental about the animals that people bring there for a bath and a bag of food. read more

By far my favorite dog place in town...and when I say town, I mean Denver, because I drive up here all the time just to come to Dogma. My Berner had stomach issues from young age and these guys worked with me to find the right food for her. The prices are UNBEATABLE!! Believe me...I shopped around. Everyone who works here is so friendly and helpful! We use the dog wash too, which is super convenient and easy to use with the 3 tubs that they have. I've never had to wait. The girls even helped us out when my dog was acting out with the dryer! Great service, I can't say enough about this place. read more

Very knowledgeable staff and the owner is extremely hands on and involved with his customers. I've been going to them for years and think they are terrific! They have always helped get my dogs eating the best food for their age and/or medical condition without selling me the highest priced food in the store.
