If you know much about Great Pyrenees, you know that they are scared of pretty much everything except for mountain lions, bears and other threats to our little farm. Today, Ruby was a really brave girl and got her first grooming, ever. I always thought it would be unnecessary stress to have her groomed... but let's just say it was time! So, I called the Jedi dog whisperer (also the breeder and trainer and groomer for our dog moose) Shawna Davies and WOW!!! Wow wow wow, I can't understand why we waited so long now. Included is a before and after picture, but if you could smell this girl, she smells like a garden full of fresh flowers in the spring and she feels like a princess. I want to warn against going to soggy dog groomers. I have been taking my 4-year old samoyed there since he was a puppy - every time, I remind them NO trimming (you are never supposed to trim a double coat as it thermoregulates and protects against sun, cold, parasites, etc). yesterday, I picked him up and they had SHAVED his entire belly and elbow, claiming it was too matted and he "didn't like the brushing". he is usually there for over 4 hours - yesterday, he was ready in under 3, which makes me think they just didn't want to take the time to detangle (and instead just shaved). I asked them to please not shave him again and, in the future, to call me first. the response was "I think it's best you kind a new groomer." I am really taken aback by their hasty actions and incredibly rude response. read more

DO NOT COME HERE: I am not coming back to this place. I have given this place multiple chances. First, I have been taking my dog, Sheila Tequila here for about 2 years. Every time I take her, Lori (the owner) does not listen to how I want my dog cut. She always cut her how she wants or thinks will look good. About a year ago she cut my dogs pad and did not say anything to me until I saw blood on the floor. I went back, to give her another chance. She was ok, however still didn't listen to how I wanted Sheila cut. Then, today I took her to get groomed, and when I picked her up, I was told by the owner that Sheila had a sore on her ear, and that when she saw her it, she cut around it. When I got home, I looked at her ear, and it was all bloody underneath!!! I immediately took her to the vet, and they told me that her ear was cut. They cauterized it, and gave her a shot in case of an infection. While sitting at the vet, after being lied to, I got an email asking to sign a legal waiver that I couldn't sue or ask for a refund from this establishment. So obviously they knew that my dog was cut and did not tell me. I will not be coming back here. read more

Horrible, Nasty, Rude service. Have been going there for 8 years through 3 owners and have never been treated this way ever. Just called to confirm appointment which we have always had every 4 weeks. When asked if they could work her in was told they were low on groomers, people being fired and leaving. I replied that's not my problem, and then was told to find a new groomer and they hung up. I would give zero stars if possible. I took my dog in for a grooming, and her ear was injured. I called the owner, Lori (sp?), and instead of listening to me, she was, in my opinion, extremely defensive and rude. I noticed these other reviews after the fact, as the groomer had been recommended to me. There are other reports of injury, which should not be the case. I would never, ever go back there. read more

We've had great service and Soggy Dog and thought they did an excellent job with our elderly toy poodle and larger poodle mix. However, we recently had a bad experience with our newest dog, a young medium poodle. Her grooming appeared not finished (the body was uneven in spots and not brushed smooth) and she had pulled a muscle in her hip that required a vet visit and a few days of pain medication. She's a puppy mill rescue and is skittish, so I would have understood if she startled unexpectedly and injured herself. But when I called and left a message to ask what happened, no one returned the call. I found that unprofessional. We won't be back. read more

The new owner is terrible! She has no tact, she's extremely rude, and if you say there is anything wrong with the the service she will be terrible towards your dog. My dog came home with a nick on his ear. Not a big deal, but I brought it up to her. After waiting a week for her to call me back (she wasn't in the salon when I picked my dog up), she was very snippy from the start of the call. She claimed it didn't happen in their salon, however, it did and the groomer apologized about it when I picked up the dog. Again, I wasn't mad about the nick until she exploded at me over the phone. I brought my dog back 6 weeks later for his next appointment and added a camera this time because of how terrible the owner acted. I was concerned about the well-being of mt dog. The groomer Sarah was extremely sweet, caring, and calm with my dog as she always is. Lori, the owner, came over cursing a storm and started handling my dog extremely ruff. I heard him yelp a few times. It was awful! I am not certain why this owner is so short tempered, but working with pets and customers it concerns me that she handles herself this way. While we love our groomer Sarah, we will not be going back to this salon. I had to wait months after this incident to share this experience because Lori gave us many threats, all of which I have recorded and am in the process of pressing charges. PLEASE: If you care about your pet and their well being DO NOT BRING THEM TO THIS GROOMER. My mother brought our French Bulldog to this groomer, which ended up with her picking him up from a local vet in the area. The groomer claims our dog got overwhelmed, (which he does easily in tense situations) and admitted to neglecting him by locking him up in a kennel until he calmed down. Our dog was so stressed out that he stopped breathing, and that is when the groomer claimed he had "calmed down". The groomer stated at that point they decided to take him to a local vet next door, and the vet claimed our dog was BLUE by the time they got there. Technically, our dog was LEGALLY DEAD as my mom had to make the decision to resuscitate him at the vet. I'd also like to add that all of this was done with no communication to my mom, until the groomer decided to text her stating they dropped our dog off at the vet next door. This should NEVER happen at any place that claims to help animals. This should not have to be something you worry about when dropping your pet off to get groomed! I wish I could rate this 0 stars. Again, please do not bring your pet to this establishment, as they clearly do not care about the well being of living creatures. read more

My dog was groomed here for the past 6 months he has come back shaved super short each time. Their claim each time was that he was severely matted, when in fact he was not. I brushed him constantly and even ran my fingers through his fur before the appt. To make sure he wasn't matted, yet they claimed he was. They even went as far as yelling at me claiming I abuse him for his matted fur. They have absolute rude costumer service. They are overall a horrible establishment. I have a senior dog and they took such amazing care of her. I could tell how much better she felt after her spa day. I took my 4 month old puppy in for what the groomer told me would be a light trim and bath, when my puppy got home he was yelping and crying in pain. I had to take my puppy to the vet and reported to the groomer the pain my puppy was in and was promised a phone call from the owner for explanation and I have received no help or explanation from anyone at the groomers! I have 2 golden doodles and to find a place that has returned my muppet brothers actually looking more golden than poodle has been impossible over the last 2 years until I found Soggy Dog. They actually know how to work with doodles and make them look like the teddy bears that they are. The staff is professional and very friendly. My dogs had no fears of immediately walking away in the groomers hands without me and I felt they seemed to instantly feel comfortable. read more
