Not sure if management changed but I used to love their Chicago dogs but...when the dogs came the were on huge buns that were cold and stiff. No soft poppyseed buns like they used to have. The place is right at the intersection of NE 71 at and U.S. 1. With seating outside only, this venue is great for a quick outdoor bite. Prices are very affordable but the sizes are small, so if you are watching your portions this is a good place for you. Customer service by Mary was very friendly. This was first time eating here. I drive pass this place on Biscayne and every time, I always say "oh I need to try this place" so uhm maybe I've done this more than 10x and NOW I got the chance to try this out. The parking spots is very few but we came on a non-busy afternoon so we were good with that. The menu was so mouthwatering! From burgers, wraps,side dishes and of course your hot dogs. They have all kinds of specialty hot dogs, I ordered the Tropicale. It's a Colombian style that has pineapples, a strip of bacon and chips on top. This is the type of hot dog I would sit on beach enjoying the waves. I enjoyed it, it was sweet and crunchy. I also ordered the onions rings with cheddar cheese on top. As a general rule, I loathe hot dogs. I think they are an abomination. An unfortunate culinary Frankenstein that I wish to never acknowledge. That said, I have adored Dogma since they opened (I believe I was a teenager). On one of my last visits home, I came one night during an insane torrential downpour. My siblings and I found some space at the counter where we happily devoured our food and beer and felt utterly content. With us was our niece and nephew who are both under the age of 9. They were loving it. We had the Biscayne Burger, the Black Bean Veggie Burger, the Reuben Dog, the Chicago Dog, and the cheese fries, naturally. 10/10 read more

I just went to this spot 3 weeks ago after almost a year of not going due to the pandemic. As always the food is amazing;well, I only ever order the turkey hot dog w/grilled onions, relish & ketchup. But, how is it that it's always unbelievable. The staff is always soooooo nice! The seating area is always clean and U wna sit outside to eat. There;s parking and its def a great spot to go to. Hot dogs are usually not something I crave but after hearing so much about Dogma, I knew the next time I was in the area I had to stop by. Thanks to the reviews I knew about the mint lemonade and I'm happy to report the previous reviews were right, the mint lemonade is good. It's no Miami Juice or Acees but it's pretty good. For the dog itself I went for a Pitchfork (bbq sauce, bacon, onions, on a sesame bun). It was good but heavy, as expected, with those toppings. I think I made a mistake going with the plain fries but I'll order differently next time. And there will be a next time, because I want to find a definite favorite and there is a pretty substantial menu. I was in this area on a recent Sunday, rode past Dogma and remembered how many positive reviews I'd read about this place. Also, one of my coworkers swears by Dogma. In fact, last year for his parents' anniversary, he asked them where they wanted to go for dinner, told them they could pick anywhere in the 305 or 954 area codes and they chose to go to Dogma of all places! I was a bit hungry, so I decided to stop. The first thing I noticed was how incredibly clean this place is. I've read here on Yelp that this place has new owners. I'm not sure if they've remodeled a bit or if it's always been this well kept, but everything from the concrete patio to the chairs and tables to the red cloth stools at the side window to the large galvanized metal tubs they're using as planters were in immaculate condition and were spotless! I had a look at the menu and decided on the Coney Island. I also got an order of fries and a soda. The woman who was taking the orders and working the register was very friendly and outgoing, which was notable since many Miami businesses aren't necessarily known for their people skills. She took my order, gave me my drink, explained that they offered free refills for the asking, and invited me to have a seat while my food was prepared. It was ready within a few moments, she called my name, gave me my food, and then referred to me by name again as she took the time to explain where the condiments and napkins are located. I also overheard her complimenting another customer on the top she was wearing which, again, is something you don't hear often in Miami! I had a seat and as I bit into the dog, I was a bit surprised at how anticlimactic it was. To be honest, the dog and bun were the same size and quality as one would cook up at home, and the taste was really nothing that made me say "wow, that's a great dog, I can't wait to come back here!" In all this was an OK experience, but definitely nothing better than A-OK as 3 stars on Yelp denotes. I was really expecting an explosion of flavor, which I didn't get, and as Danny, Michelle C. and 3 or 4 others have stated, the prices are a bit high for what this place is. My dog, bun and other ingredients all tasted pretty standard, they didn't really stand out in any way, and for the price I paid for a single Coney Island dog here, I could've purchased the ingredients to make 6 or 8 at home and they would've tasted the same. read more

I remember when the original Dogma first opened back in 2004 or 2005. I was floored by this place and stopped by often for large mint lemonades on hot summer days when I lived in downtown Miami. In my opinion, it was the only real place for hot dog fans to go to get their fix. I agree with the other Yelpers - this place is clearly under new management. The mint lemonade is gone, along with my favorite, The Matador, which was a hot dog slathered in horseradish sauce and swiss cheese. On my way through the MiMo district this weekend, I realized I hadn't eaten a hot dog in over a year so it was time to stop in for a quick bite. I immediately noticed the vastly different menu; however, it looked very promising. I ordered the Reuben dog -sauerkraut, thousand island dressing and swiss cheese and my husband ordered the shrimp po-boy with garlic fries. To wash it all down, we grabbed two Pabst Blue Ribbon in a can ($4 each). The staff was pretty busy, but the food came out quickly and everyone behind the counter seemed very helpful and nice. The hot dog was yummy, but the bun was so soft that it became soggy from the steamed dog and the dressing. The shrimp po-boy was OK, but was mostly bread and lacked a significant amount of fried shrimp. The garlic fries were good too - definitely loaded with garlic. I would not recommend ordering these before a hot date. If you are a vegetarian, Dogma is not the place for you. They offer absolutely no veggie options - not even a tofu dog or veggie burger. For you meat lovers, they have a pretty darn good selection. Even though the new management switched things up a bit, I still like Dogma and will be back to try other options. Can't say I had been to the "old" Dogma Grill so am unable to relate to loyalists who are upset over the menu changes. Personally, I am not even a hot dog fan so the menu expansion to include lots of sandwiches makes the stand more up my alley! I went to the restaurant to take pictures of the new additions so was treated to lots of them. The oyster po'boy was awesome with a good amount of kick as was the Philly Cheesesteak, Italian sausage and Italian beef. Something surprising was the Pittsburgh that had steak with thousand island, coleslaw and french fries. Sounds strange but it was delicious. What stood out when it came to all of the sandwiches was the bread they all came on. It was nice and soft and the flavor was perfect. Also recommended are the thick cut housemade potato chips instead of fries. They came hot and fresh from the fryer. I couldn't stop eating them. So to all those upset about the change, I'd suggest giving it a try. You just mind find something you like even better! read more

Dogma Grill has veggie dogs... They are back! Used to love this place. The had veggie dogs and mint lemonade. Then they changed. Got rid of them both... Sad times... Now the V Dog is back! No mint lemonade though. But you can again get any item on the menu with a veggie dog instead. The only way they can improve on the hot dog is by getting a bun split not so deep that the dog doesn't fall out the other side while you are eating. But they are good. Very good. Go Chicago Dog and be happy. They also serve burgers and other things if you must. They look tasty. The french fries are good. The garlic fries used to be better. Now they are regular fries with a metric ton of minced garlic thrown on top. They need to rework that formula. But... I... Repeat... The Veggie Dog is back! read more

The decor-park bench style. The parking-it can be crowded so be warned. The service-fast and friendly. The environment-full of hungry mosquitos...so, wear pants or repellent...trust me, it was hard to enjoy my Dogs when I was also on the mosquitos' menu. I've been going to this place for years off and on when visiting Miami. The funniest thing I noticed about this is the restaurant that serves hot dogs is called Dogma and the car wash next door is called Karma. Anyway this is a walk up and order type of stand and then you are called up to get your food when it's ready. They have a wide variety of regional American treats. What I mean by that is that have Po-Boys (Louisiana), Cheese steak (Philly), fries in the sandwich (Pittsburgh), dogs of different styles (NY, Chicago etc). I've had the burger once or twice but mostly I enjoy the hot dogs. The Chicago dogs are authentic in a sense that they use the proper ingredients. I'm not sure if the dog is Vienna or not but either way they are beef and they use poppy seed buns along with the neon relish and serrano sport peppers so ya it's not like other places that try to get away with banana peppers or some other substitute for the sport peppers. The food is fun and like a tour around the USA sort of. The prices I think are a little higher than you'd expect for the food you get but the quality is good and there is no issue with consistency as far I can think of either. It's a nice place to stop in and just have something small and you can also have a cold beer too. read more

This location is the original Dogma Grill, in the heart of Miami's booming Upper East Side on the southwest corner of Biscayne Boulevard and NE 71st Street. The owner has put a lot of thought into what makes a good hot dog and french fries, and it shows. The hot dog is a flavorful NY/Kosher-style frankfurter, 1/8 pound, grilled on a flat-top grill, and is available "well-done", with tasty grill marks. Just ask - they even have a button for it on the register. The roll is a Chicago Vienna Beef poppy seed roll, lightly steamed to warm and soften it. Try one plain, well-done, and put a light line of brown mustard on it. Perfection! The french fries are double-fried, which is the best way to make them - like the French do! I also had the onion rings. They are thick, golden brown delights, although a little pricey for the quantity. Also available are fourteen named hot dogs of different styles, and beef or veggie deep-fried corn dogs. Among them are: - The Chicago dog, with the necessary mustard, authentic neon-green relish, tomatoes, sport peppers, and a dill pickle; - The Tropicale, which has somewhat typical South American hot dog toppings - Dogma sauce, melted mozzarella cheese, bacon, and potato chips; - The LA Chili Dog, which has chili, mustard, chopped onions and shredded cheddar cheese. Note that the "chili" is the hot dog topping like that used at Pink's in Los Angeles (as seen in the movie Lethal Weapon), not the meaty, tomatoey Tex-Mex stuff that you would get a bowl of at some restaurants. - The Burrito Dog, which has two hot dogs, chili, bacon, mustard, onions, sour cream, shredded cheddar cheese, wrapped in a tortilla and lightly grilled. I'm not really a hot dog person but when I do get the random craving, Dogma is a good option. It's a really casual place, which I like. You order at a counter and all seating is outside on a patio with umbrellas. Prices are good, especially compared to all the other restaurants in this area. I'd say hotdogs range from about $3.50-$5.00. Other items like po-boys or Philly cheese steaks are around $9. Their menu seems to be inspired off of different specialty hotdogs/sandwiches/etc. from different places. For example, they have the Tropicale (Colombian style hotdog), Chicago dog, Louisiana po-boy, and more. I've had the regular Philly cheese steak, which was good. I've tried a bunch of different hotdogs which were all good too. I really like the chili cheese fries, but I have a weakness for these in general... Overall, good and cheap! Super laid back restaurant, but don't come here if you're on a diet. Also, good place to bring kids and I see lots of people with dogs come here. Good hot dog venues are hard to come by nowadays, but Dogma still stands. Located on 7030 Biscayne Blvd, Dogma Grill has been a somewhat of a landmark in an up and coming food area. The fast food eatery has been known for their hot dogs and mint lemonade for years. However, as people become healthier, Dogma has adopted their menu to the times. Not only do they sell hot dogs, but they also sell salads, wraps and burgers. Sadly, they have stopped selling their mint lemonade. It was one of the perks I really enjoyed about driving out of my way to come here. On this day I ordered a Reuben and a Pitchfork hot dog with garlic fries, a brownie and a Snapple diet tea. The total for the meal came out to $16.74, which is a bit pricey. Each hot dog cost around $4.15 and the brownie and Snapple were a bit of a rip off. The franks used are completely amazing in taste. They are placed on a grill before being served and are 100% beef or turkey depending on your taste. The Reuben hot dog has sauerkraut, Swiss cheese, and dogma sauce. Dogma sauce tastes a lot like Russian sauce, but it doesn't take away from the food. The bread was soft and warm, which is something a lot of hot dog joints overlook. However, the hot dog as amazing as it tastes was missing something. Maybe instead of using a hot dog they could use a sausage or Braunschweiger. The Pitchfork hot dog was good and mild in taste. Made with the beef dog, the dish contained grilled onions, cheese, bacon and BBQ sauce. This hot dog was really mild in taste. The most overpowering item was the wiener itself. As the other items fell in the background and complimented the dish. Advertisement The garlic fries were a first. There's no secret about these fries. They get fries, put chopped garlic on top and deep fry this baby. What one gets it's a strong tasting batch of fries that needs no condiments. Sadly, this leaves for a two dimensional taste since the fries are missing an ingredient. It might be a bit of ketchup or salt, but the garlic is a bit too overpowering and adding any condiments to them could make the side item a bit too salty for consumption. The brownies were ok. There was nothing too outstanding about them. I wish they would have added chocolate chips and a bit more walnuts. The light-eyed teller swore by them, but it all seriousness you are not missing out on much. Dogma is great little place if you want good hot dogs. However, at about $4 for each hot dog it can get pricey. The restaurant is nice and kept very clean. There's no indoor dining, but they have tables with umbrellas outside for customers. Dogma Grill gets a solid 4 Stars. Their franks have a great taste. They serve their hot dogs in a nice and warm bun. Their combination of hot dog concoctions has never disappointed.
