This place was the only highlight of getting stuck staying at that dump the New Yorker Hotel!! Anyway... I'm from Chicago so I avoided all of the Chicago options and went for the Philadelphia option, the Philly Cheese Steak. I decided to go with the grilled onions. It was a really good Philly!! Dogma serves up hot dogs just about any which way you can think of - and that's a-okay with me. Of course with such choices comes the daunting task of trying to decide which one to go with. But for my first Dogma experience I decided on El Macho. It was perfectly executed; fresh tomatoes and onions, melted cheese, and jalapeno peppers on top which gave it a nice kick. After finishing my dog I contemplated ordering another because it was so good - but logic set in and I decided to just be content with the one hot dog. My boyfriend ordered the Pitchfork, which seems to be a Yelp favorite, and he too was a big fan. We also shared an order of onion rings, but they weren't anything special. I didn't get to try the mint lemonade, but since we pass this establishment often, I know there will be plenty of opportunities to make that happen. One thing's for sure, for those days when the weather practically demands eating outside, Dogma is the way to go. All around Dogma is a great stop for a quick bite when you're cruising US-1. From the birds, I heard this place had amazing hotdogs so I couldn't turn down a visit. However, I was a bit disappointed. I went with a chili dog w/ no mustard and onion rings, and my sister got a sausage dog. Of course, they messed up my order and gave me a dog w/ mustard. When I went to go speak to the woman at the registered, a ton of attitude. So they gave me another hotdog, but they piled massive amounts of chili onto it that I couldnt even lift it to eat and the bread fell apart from being so moist, which really irked me. Anyways, the onions were amazing, super crispy and the sauce that comes with it was awesome, tasted like a chipotle sauce. You order at the window / counter, and they call you up to fetch it when it is ready. There is plenty of clean outdoor seating and it's a super-casual atmosphere. There are large, self-serve vats of ketchup and mustard, so you don't have to ask for little packets (I like they they don't use wasteful packaging). The prices are reasonable for the meat choices. One complaint is that they charge $1.00 more for the veggie dog. That is preposterous! (Meat costs much more to process than any meat-substitute!) Just had the bison burger with bacon and a side of fries. The burger was immaculate. Put together with character and guile. The meat was juicy and cooked to an accurate balance of soft and crispy. The sautéed onions and mushrooms topped the burger off and brought together a full package. The fries were solid as well. Nice, thick and fresh potato cuts salted sparingly but just right. I heard this was the BEST hot dog place in town, so I had to try it for myself. I ordered a chili hot dog and some fries with a Boylan natural cane sugar ginger ale. The hot dog flavor profile was very delicious, the poppy seed bun was perfectly soft but was strong enough to hold the additional contents. The chili contained traditional kidney beans. The toppings had a just right smathering of mustard, finely chopped onion and perfectly placed sharp cheddar cheese. Absolutely divine! The French fries were cooked just to my favorite crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The selection of sodas was very nice. I liked the ginger ale and was happy it didn't contain any corn syrup. The server was very courteous and was patient and informative when I said it was my first time at the restaurant. I usually get a classic and then pick a different specialty dog for my second one. This helps spending wise and plus who doesn't enjoy a classic. It's charming, outdoorsy, lots of character, and the food is excellent. all of their hotdogs or good depending on what you want on it. Chicago dog and onion ring review below. In the past 3 weeks I've had 2 dogs that brought me back to Chicago style dogs and reminded me of Portillos. This was a great dog. It had the correct relish, sport peppers, mustard, seasoning and poppy seed bread, although they did put the pickle spear on the side which was fine. If you are a fan of Portillos and can't make it to Chicago, this is a great substitution! Onion rings were good, nice and crispy and a medium thick batter with not too thick onions inside. Came here for lunch today. There is only outdoor seating, so fortunately it wasn't raining yet. The menu is quite extensive. I got the Chicago dog, my wife the Chili dog and my daughter the corn dog. We also split an order of fries and onion rings. The fries and rings were the stand outs. In fact I would say the onion rings were perhaps the best I've ever had. The Chicago dog was good, but the chili dog was mediocre. My wife and I thought the chili was too sweet. My daughter enjoyed the corn dog. The prices are out of whack for what you get though. These are just slightly thicker than normal sized dogs. I would say the dogs are worth $3.00, but they charge $4.50 each. Next time I would try one of their Philly cheesesteaks. The service is average. The lady who took the order was very nice and polite, but the kitchen was a bit slow considering we were the only ones waiting on food. Stopped into Dogma Grill for lunch on Thursday afternoon. Ordered the Chicago Dog and the Atlanta Dog. Quality Dogma Grill is much more than just a standard hot dog stand. While you can absolutely order a plain hot dog, they also have dozens of specialty dogs and several different types of sausages and brats. On my visit I ordered the Chicago Dog and the Atlanta Dog. Both start with an all beef dog on a soft bun. The Chicago Dog then piles on yellow mustard, neon relish, chopped onions, chopped tomatoes, sport peppers, pickle, and celery salt. It is a loaded dog full of freshness and a little bit of spicy crunch. The Atlanta Dog meanwhile is covered in baked beans and cole slaw. While I have had Chicago style hot dogs before, I had never heard of an Atlanta style so I was curious how the beans and coleslaw would impact the flavor. I personally did not take to it as I felt the beans made the bun too soggy and I like my dog with ketchup or mustard and neither seemed to work with these toppings. I would stay away from the Atlanta Dog, or any of the other bean covered dogs for that matter. Quantity I decided to order two specialty hot dogs, each which had a pile of ingredients on top. For lunch I thought it was the perfect amount of food. I think two dogs or a dog and a side is an appropriate size meal. Value The different specialty hot dogs range in price from $4 to $5, which is a decent price. This is not a place you should not expect to have to drop a lot of money for a good amount of food. Ambiance Dogma Grill is located in the Little River area of North Miami. Right off of Biscayne Blvd, this little hot dog spot is perfect for a snack on a nice day. The shop is arranged for you to order at one window and then pick up at the other. There is an awning that covers the area near the windows with a few fans set up for warm days. Under the awning and around the corner from the pick-up window they have a few stools set up at a bar. I chose instead to wait for my food at one of the tables in the small courtyard area. They had umbrellas over the tables, which probably wouldn't protect you from the rain, but helped keep the sun out. The space was oddly quiet, as I did not hear any music playing during my visit. Crowd Even in the middle of the week, during lunch hour they had a near constant flow of people on line. Most folks looked like they were on break from work, but a few parents also came in with kids in tow. Service The girl behind the counter was extremely nice and the kitchen was very quick. They had my food ready in about five minutes. I will say they could probably use someone making the rounds as most of the tables had spilled food, which was in turn bringing in lots of birds. Parking Just south of the restaurant they have a small parking lot with about six spots. If there is no room, parking can be found a block or two west in the nearby residential area. Extra Dogma Grill is a decent hot dog spot, but even with the unique combinations, I was not overly impressed with my food. I work in Miami every day and used to eat here for lunch often. I was transferred to Broward county temporarily so it has been awhile since I've eaten here. Since my last visit it seems like they may be sourcing different products. Either the hot dogs have gotten smaller, the buns have gotten bigger, or maybe both. I remember the hot dogs being larger and the bun to dog ratio being more proportionate. I ordered 2 Coney Island dogs and a bottle of water for $15.52. The Coney Island is supposed to come with spicy brown mustard and sauerkraut. I received yellow mustard and the sauerkraut on the side. Since I took my order to go I was unable to have it corrected. Since I truly hate yellow mustard I wound up wiping it off and putting both hot dogs into one bun there was that much bread. It's just not as good as it used to be and my visit was very disappointing most likely making it my last one.
