After rescuing a dog, shorly before a planned trip, the though of boarding a 9mnth old Border Collie/Australian Shepard was horrific, My previous Border Collie rescue (made it to 18yrs) he hated it, and took weeks after to forgive me. A friend reccomended Paula, She came promplty to meet me, or rather "meet the dog" and this I mean with all honesty. As Paula's Company name states, its about the dog, YOUR DOG. I felt comfortable leaving not only my new Buddy 'Bo' but also my house, since she watch's your dog in your own home (or this was the arrangement I made, I believe this is normal). On my return, Paula promptly met with me to return Bo, who was not only as happy and content as when I had left, but maybe even more so.. Paula had told me she would teach him a trick or 2, and she did, Bo had as good a time with Paula, as I did on my trip, maybe next time I will have paula sit us both.... I simply love dogs for humanity!!!. They provide bedience training, dog walking, home intensive training, boarding, and any dog would thrive under their care and guidance! I can't say enough about Paula love for all animals and her ability to train my dog and sometimes myself. I totally trust her with access to my home and I have called on Paula many times for some last minute services when I was in a bind or had something important to do around town. She's always available and constantly greet me with a warm and friendly smile. She has even taken pictures with my dogs while they're on walks and will then forward them to my phone, which shows how truly well she treats my dog like her own. I first used her services back in 2015 (I wrote an initial review back then, but Yelp flagged it as "fake" for some reason) went we went on a two week vacation. Paula took care of our two girls perfectly... feeding, watching, and cleaning up after them. One of my dogs is uncomfortable with strangers, and we worried that Paula might not be able to handle her. But Dogs for Humanity's owner has incredible gifts of empathy, patience, and affection for our furry four legged companions. In the end, Juneau accepted her and allowed Paula to do the job. I am so glad I found Paula. For my two furry boys it was love at first sight. She's cheerful, energetic, and very professional. When we had our initial meet & greet I told her I was only going to need her help occasionally for the times my schedule gets a little crazy. She was totally fine with that and assured me that even with a last minute notice she would be there whenever I needed her. About a week after our initial meeting, I came home to find a little gift bag hanging on my gate with a note saying she was looking forward to walking my boys and two rawhide bones inside for them. Now that's a thoughtful caring person and great marketing. She charges less than other dog walkers, and best of all she doesn't charge more for two dogs. I pay her for an hour long walk and I get the full hour. I mention this because I've used another dog walker who never walked the full hour. read more

I wish I could give more stars. Paula is absolutely awesome. Having just moved to Hawaii, I was extremely skeptical of many of the dog walkers here. I resent the profit-driven model for dog walkers, because dogs are people too...not just little cash machines! It is possible to make money AND run a respectable, human business. I am a full-time student and my schedule is very demanding. Paula is always available to help me out. Aside from being a dog whisperer, she is an incredibly savvy business woman & boss lady. I respect her passion and commitment to animal welfare. She really does practice what she preaches. There is no bullshit, which is SO refreshing. Paula is a PROFESSIONAL dog walker. She takes her work seriously and is constantly trying to learn more about canine behavior- from experience, Cesar Milan, books, etc., so as to effectively meet the individual needs of the dogs she works with. I got my "Cowboy" at the Humane Society, and while he was fine with me from the start, he was horrible with anyone else. He barked at them constantly(one for 5 hours straight) and ran from them, no matter how often they stopped by to visit. He was wary when Paula first came, but within a visit, he was in her lap and taking his toys to her to play. I think he could sense her genuine love for dogs and for him. Now, when I tell him that Paula is coming, he runs to the front window to wait for her. She comes by once a week, dependably, always full of energy and love for Cowboy. read more

Had my son's/grandchildren dog delivered to us from Hong Kong. My son moved to a new location, no pets allowed. Dog was shipped to us to live permanently in Hawaii. I recently went on a birthday cruise with a friend of mine. While we were away for the week, we hired Paula Quealy to pet sit her two poodles.
