So incredibly thankful for the groomers at Dogz 'n Catz. I brought two of my pooches in for nail trims and one of them has an absolute fit when his toes are touched or brought near clippers. He was an absolute maniac and the lovely employees here handled his insanity with grace. I was definitely embarrassed but his nails are perfection and I appreciate the patience and love they gave my boy. As well as the tips about getting him used to having his feet and toes touched. Absolutely AMAZING! First time there today. I was a walk in and had two small dogs. A pug and a pug mix. Jenni washed, clipped nails, cleaned ears, and brush teeth all within 30 minutes. Came in today to give my little dog a little trim.  Before coming, I called the store about pricing and scheduling and was able to get a hold of someone every time.  When I came in, my dog was brought on the table right away. UPDATE: The owner Jennie reached out to me personally about the situation and everything was handled in a very professional matter. I still stand by everything I said in my initial review and will not be returning here but I am very thankful that they reached out to me and made sure my pup was doing well. I have never written a review ever on Yelp but I am so upset with this place!! I read through all the reviews and they all sounded great so I booked an appointment for my Shih-Tzu thinking he would come out looking great just like the reviews say! Well unfortunately we got the complete opposite!! When I first got there I was so sure that it would be great since she was taking notes on what I wanted specifically done and I also loved that the dogs get to roam around the salon and play! When I picked up my dog at first glance I loved it so much that I scheduled another appointment for 6 weeks to go again! When I got home I realized that my dogs underbelly was basically shaved into the shape of a square instead of blending his hair down to his "manhood". Even his inner thighs are shaved down to the skin. I asked them to TRIM around my dogs eyes since his hair was long right now and going into his eyes but they shaved it down to the skin causing my dog to have a very irritated spot for about 24 hours. They also shaved his butt down to the skin causing that area to be irritated as well. I also noticed that they cut his left back paw and he was licking it very intensely which is their way of showing us that they are in pain. Not to mention his whole body is different lengths of hair. I took my dog to the vet 1.5 days later because his paw wasn't getting any better. Also on Wednesday (5/29/19 the day he went to the groomers) and Thursday (5/30/19) and Friday (5/31/2019) he started scooting his butt on the floor which he has NEVER done before. EVER! So I knew something else was wrong. When we went to the vet on (5/31/2019) the vet told us that the groomers must have tried to express his anal glands (which they never told me they did and I never asked for) but they half assed it and did a terrible job causing my dog a lot of discomfort in that area and being very itchy in that area which is why he was scooting on the floor! I wish I could give a 0 star review. I will be canceling the appointment I made for him 6 weeks out and also calling on Monday to talk to the owner and let her know about all of this. The hair cut cost me $43 but I had to pay about $100 at the vet for him to get medicine and get looked at. So basically this grooming bill has cost me roughly $143! I WILL NEVER BE RETURNING AND I ENCOURAGE YOU TO NOT GO THERE AS WELL! read more

The groomers here have done a fabulous job on my terrier/yorki mix for over a year. Just recently I decided to hit them with the full load (4 dogs - corgi/doxi mix, chihuahua/pomeranian mix, dachshund/papillon mix and my terrier/yorki). All of them came home happy and clean. I have used other groomers and one in particular complained about my terrier/yorki mix nipping at them when they shaved her behind. I really don't want to hear complaints every time I pick up my dog. Not only have we never gotten a complaint from Dogz 'n Catz, but my terrier/yorki actually likes going to the groomer. That's a good sign. They really are amazing. As for pricing, a little high but not outrageous and the value is there for the money. Your dog will be happy and pretty when you take it to Dogz 'n Catz. Oh, one final proof of how amazing they are, we foster and we had a lhasa apso/shih tzu mix that was just not getting adopted and he had the cutest personality. I finally decided to invest in a grooming (they gave me $10 off) and did such an amazing job he was literally adopted at the next adoption event. That's how great they are!! read more

Friendly staff, and they cut my dogs hair great! I love the fact they don't kennel up the dogs while they wait for a cut, or after they cut is done. The dogs all hang together in the middle till they're ready to get picked up by mom or dad. I love this place and will continue to use them! Atrocious. This was our cat's first and final appointment with them. We had asked for a lion cut. When we took her out of her travel crate, we found the same cat with a crop top and slightly shaved hind legs. I don't know what kind of lion cut they have done before, but if you like cats with furry crop tops, go right ahead. They charged us the full 60 bucks for the grooming because they said she was difficult. If I ran a grooming business for both dogs and cats, I would want to be organized and have dogs groomed on a certain day and cats another. My cat was the only one there and was surrounded by dogs running freely. Of course she would be difficult. She's a cat surrounded by dogs. They did not even clean her ears out. Never coming back here again. EVER. read more

I've been going here since they opened and now have a standing monthly appointment as they get booked up so fast. My "Star" is not a social dog with anxiety, but Jennie and her staff are so kind and gentle, she now fully accepts she's going to visit her Aunt Jennie. They do an outstanding job and I wouldn't take her anywhere else. I have also taken my 3 cats there on occasion. My Havanese hates getting groomed, and still does, but this place does a fantastic quick job (1 hour) on my Havanese. I feel bad leaving her there, but I know it's only for 1 hour and I know they care about her. She looks good when I pick her up, so one hour out of her life ever seven weeks is tolerable to her and me. Highly recommend. read more

After lots of research and waiting for an appointment I finally took my fur baby here to be groomed. Within 20 minutes of dropping him off I received a call from another business, across Clovis Ave. and down a side street, that they had found my dog. I called Dogz N' Catz to let them know that we would not be seeing them anymore. They had no idea that my dog was even gone! I was livid and disappointed that they did not take any action to apologize for their horrible mistake, or at least call to guarantee this would not happen to anyone else. I can not imagine if this had been another outcome and my dog did not make it across such a busy street safely. read more

I have tried many groomers since moving and none have impressed me more than Jennie. She is quick, professional, and does an outstanding job! The first time I took my Frankie, I asked for what some groomers call a 'summer cut'. I explained that her last groomer looked at me funny when I asked for the same cut and proceeded to shave my pup down so close that she came home with razor burn. Miss Jennie told me no problem and I couldn't believe my eyes when I picked up Frankie--she had the most adorable cut! Frankie has been to see Miss Jennie now twice and I can't imagine taking her anywhere else. read more

I love taking our puppy to see "Aunt Jennie." Jennie is a total dog whisperer- she takes her time with every new dog to make sure they feel comfortable, and she definitely did with our little one. Our puppy was a little nervous on her first visit, but now she gets pee-on-the-floor excited when she sees Jennie. I don't know of anywhere else where you can choose to let your dog socialize with the other pups before and after their groom. It makes me so happy to see my puppy running and playing with a pack of happy dogs when I pick her up. Our puppy has only been to Jennie's twice and I have seen a big improvement in her socialization and comfort level with other dogs. She comes home clean, adorable, and best of all- totally tired from playing all day! If you have a puppy, or even just a high energy dog, you know how awesome that is. Took Buddy into Dogz N' Catz for several years and Jennie would groom and bathe him and sometimes when needed would trim his nails. Buddy was 1/2 Lab and 1/2 ? but whatever that 1/2 was it gave Buddy longish, wavy black hair. Jennie did excellent work, her prices very reasonable and on top of that she has an outgoing and friendly personality. Unfortunately Buddy passed away in his sleep in June (at the age of 17) but I recently got a 'new' old dog from Labrador Retriever Rescue of Fresno. Planning on making an appointment with Jennie soon for Emma Blue to get her a shampoo and light trim...might as well stay with someone I know does very good work, even though it's about a 25 minute drive from my house. Located in the Barnyard Shopping Center on Clovis Ave. between Barstow and Shaw. There's another dog groomer at the far end of the Center but Dogz N' Catz is towards the Clovis Ave. entrance side, right next to an excellent Mexican restaurant named Rosalinda's.
