Has an extension added on to our home in 2018, very poor workmanship and poor quality air conditioning/heating units put in. I've had more repairs on the addition than on my 20yo home. They prepared the dirt for the cement slab and it didn't even sit a week before pouring the foundation, Lo and behold we have all kinds of cracks and uneven floors! So sickened by how much we paid for such a poor job! Please don't invest in a project with this company, save your money!! read more

Should have read more of the 1 Star reviews before having DWR do our home renovation. Completed over budget and not in the indicated time frame. Communication was/is very poor. One of the projects, a bathroom shower surround is showing cracks in the tiles themselves. Contacted the office a week and a half ago about it & were told our Project Manager, Bill would call us back. As has been the case in the past, we haven't heard from him. We selected DWR to build a summer kitchen that included a grill, fireplace, and special flooring. The whole thing is screened in. It took several weeks as the project was quite extensive. The roof blended in with the house very nicely, the stone work was superb, and the tongue and groove ceiling is beautiful. There were considerable modifications along the way but DWR worked things out with us resulting in a finished product that looks great, is very functional, and adds value to our home. The general contractor, Richard, managed the whole job and we give him credit for clear and timely communication as well as resolving the issues the came up throughout the project. read more

Had a back patio kitchen constructed 3 years ago from DWR. I didn't write a review at the time but let my neighbors know not to do business with this company since what was supposed to have been a projected 5-6 week job took 6 months. This was PRE-COVID, btw...no materials shortage then. Fast-forward 3 years after their work was completed...and we're now dealing with a corroded gas line (read: gas leak) estimated to cost upwards of $2000 to fix, all due to cheap materials that were originally installed (plain iron pipe). We're not experts but expected some kind of guidance or at least choices and their pros/cons. I would not use this company nor do I recommend them. read more

I had an upcoming appointment with this company for a bathroom remodel project but I received a phone call from them today stating they were canceling my appointment because the owner chose not to do business with me. I was given no explanation as to why besides "it was the owners decision", even after I informed them that I was not in a hurry to have my project started. I can only guess they decided not to do business with me because I told them my remodel project was not an insurance claim. I know this is a busy time for construction but I feel businesses should remain professional at all times. read more

I am a Yelp-a-holic and should have checked Yelp prior to my hubby contacting this company. We are looking to do an outdoor living area. Russell came out and said that he would put together a quote based on what we were seeking and that he would have it back to us quickly (beginning of next week). After numerous follow up attempts on my husband's behalf he scheduled an appointment for us to go into their office to look at rendering and get pricing. We went on the day that we thought it was. Receptionist was quite belittling letting us know that Russell schedule the appointment for an additional week out and that he wouldn't even see us as he did not have our bid ready. When trying to gain someone's business, it should not take two - three weeks to get a rendering or bid. They lost our business due to their customer service. If you are not trying to gain our business in a timely manner I couldn't imagine the service received if we would have hired this company. Waste of time and effort on our behalf. I really wanted to believe in this company but was let down twice. The first time we called them about building a carport/ garage. Dustin came to the house in 2022. He took notes talked about numbers and we never heard from him again. That was fine because we had a family health scare and changed our project plans. This time we were expanding the living area of the house. The next time was January 2023 Christian came out he was nice talked to us and had good ideas. Never heard back from him. Never received a quote from either person. Maybe the project wasn't big enough or I didn't look like I had money to spend. Maybe because it wasn't in a neighborhood with houses of $200,000 +. But $25,000. (1st project) and $100.000 (2nd project) is a good amount to spend. And then again maybe that's "DOING WHAT'S RIGHT" by not considering jobs that's not to your liking. After a bit of shopping, decided to trust "our gut" and go with DWR for our home renovation, (2 complete bathroom overhauls and misc other work). Absolutely no regrets!! Everything from start to finish was pleasant, smooth and even fun. Renee, in sales was a great guide, consultant and designer. Carey Reynolds, our Project Manager is without question, the best in the biz. He communicated with us every step of the way and went "over and beyond" when it came to ensuring we were happy. His crew were extremely talented, especially his tile guy - absolutely beautiful work! The crew were like friends, in our house most days for about 2 months. They were clean, courteous and professional. This is my first time going though a home remodeling but again, absolutely no regrets and completely happy and satisfied!! Highly recommend!! read more

We used DWR back in the summer of 2020 for a full downstairs remodel. Had floors replaced, cabinets replaced countertops replaced. I'm just now writing the review as there are a few things I wish had been done better. I have grout popping out in spots from between the floor tiles. Some of the tiles just were not inspected before install as the dye is not complete along edges or there are chips along the edges. Our middle cabinet above our stove has the skin busted (just noticed this) from where they installed the microwave and they used a flex foil dryer vent duct instead of a solid aluminum one which is technically not to code. Our salesperson, Angela, pretty much broke all contact once the contract was signed. The general contractor at the time was great at coordinating the different trades but the quality seemed rushed when it was all said and done. I'm planning another remodel but will be contracting the trades myself and save the overhead cost. For what I got, I wasn't too impressed at the end of the day. read more

DWR installed defective bullnose tile in our shower in the fall of 2020. Their first attempt to fix it included painting it. The paint peeled off within weeks. On the second attempt to fix the issue, they removed all of the defective tile and replaced it with more defective tile. They then told us they fixed the issue and wanted to replace the tile. We let them know we were not confident the new tile was not defective and wanted to keep the tile in our shower to see if it would hold up. Thankfully, we did not have the bullnose tile installed. While it did not peel like the other attempts at repair, it turned green (it was originally brown). We notified Angela H. with photos of defective tile on March 1, 2022. As of today, DWR has offered no resolution. read more

If you never want to hear from your sales person, Russell is your guy! We had screen in porch done. After our initial estimate I told Russell that we were getting two or three other quotes. Russell called a few times wanted to know when we were going to make a decision and I told him we were waiting for other companies to come out. After all the quotes came in I decided to go with DWR construction. When the subcontractors showed up to start the work they were never informed of the Heights only giving a photo. They were going to need scaffolding. With a few delays which was due to weather the project got started. During this whole time Russell never made one phone call to see how the project was going he made his quota and that's all we are is a number. The subcontractors did a great job it's a good looking screened in porch but the framing around the door is scratched which I can live with. Still no calls from Russell. read more

This company should be called Doing What's Wrong. The list of complaints I have about this company would be tedious to type, let alone read. We are currently sueing this company for refusal to fix the sub-standard quality of their construction. I have many pictures for anyone who wants to see what kind of work this company does. It was a $30k home re-modeling project and we are extremely upset with the entire experience with DWR. It has been a nightmare. If anyone wants to see the pictures of the kind of work this company does, please feel free to contact me and I will be happy to send them to you. The work is very sloppy. 99% of the nails in the deck are out of place. A 5th grader, with one hand tied behind his back and a pair of bad glasses could place nails better than this company. Please let me show you the pictures. We are also about to make a formal complaint with the Contractors Licensing Board. This company needs to replace what is not done properly. I would not hire this company to do any repair work with the level of customer service I have received. I had someone at my house about six months ago for a bid. I followed up with them a month after the visit and was told I needed to come with my husband to their office for the bid. Really? I need my husband there when I'm the one paying for it??? I explained I'd rather have the bid emailed and I was the one paying for it. I was told it would happen.....well six months later and a couple of phone calls from me to them and still no bid. I think the Best of The Woodlands for 2014 is a lie. That's the only reason I called them in the first place. Angela walked us thru every step and was patient as I questioned everything. Once the construction started, the professionalism continued with Randel and his crew. From the very beginning, there was a lot of miscommunication. We had three bathrooms remodeled. They sent a crew from hell and had to re do everything on the main bathroom. It took them from May to September at the beginning of the job they quoted about 5 weeks, not 5 months. The bad thing is that not one time did we get a call or a visit from one of the owners, all we had to talk to is the workers. The job turned out okay but not what we expected. If things had to be redone it usually looked worse first time around and then okay. We kept hearing from the second crew that it was not their fault of the mess up. Richard did an amazing job of juggling our crazy schedules and preferences and Shelley was very helpful in all of the design choices. Have to agree with the other two reviews. I call to set up an estimate. They call to confirm the appointment the day before but don't even know when they made the appointment for. Shelly who's doing the estimate calls me the day of the appointment and tells me her GPS says she'll be there at 10:42. Too bad she was supposed to be there at 10:30. She arrives at 10:50, no apology for being late. It's apparent she has no idea what she's looking at then informs me I'm going to have to come to their business to get the estimate. Wow, we called to have someone come out for an estimate on remodeling the kitchen and some other work. Angela came out and apparently came with an attitude. She came into our home and immediately said "you will just have to rip the cabinets out and totally replace them", it was not what she said, but how she said it and she was just a witch to say the least. Our comment to her was "thank you for your time, we will check others", she then sent a nasty email stating "we are not interested in bidding your job", wow customer service at its finest! Our house is not a trashed house as it is a custom built home, custom drapes but maybe we did not have the right zip code for her. We found another company who replaced the top cabinets and redid the bottom ones so the granite which was in great shape was saved. Do your homework with this bunch. read more

Had our kitchen remodeled with new cabinets, sink, granite counter tops and back splash. During the construction phase our kitchen was measured wrong so when the cabinets arrived they did not fit. The height was off so the crown that was ordered had to be removed from the project. The width and length of the room was measured wrong so 4 cabinets had to be reordered. Now the grout is all cracked around the counter tops and the granite is starting to show chips and the seams are starting to come apart. I would not recommend doing business with this company, they have some great contractors, but they have way too many jobs to keep up with. I was told several times that other jobs were more important than ours so they took double the time to complete ours. read more

Lori's friendliness, ideal design for our space and her professional handling of our meeting(s) was what convinced us to go with DWR for this project. Although we did have a few hitches in the construction due to subcontractors such as the brick layer and appliance vendor DWR was quick to rectify each matter to our satisfaction. The end result was an outdoor kitchen that is exactly as we wished. We have now requested a design for an outdoor bathroom and looking forward to working with DWR again. read more
