More like, Dolce Limone! Everything here tastes like lemon; the only exceptions are the baguette, which is pretty good, and the chocolate-based treats. It's also unreasonably expensive, but I suppose that's the sacrifice one must make to live in semi-rural areas. My wife and I come to Dolce Amar every day they're open. We have tried most of the food items they offer at least once and have not even had something that is just alright. Everything is scratch made in house with fresh and high quality ingredients. Some of our favorites are the quiche which has rotating flavors, croissant egg sandwiches, muffins, macarons, and cupcakes. On Saturdays, they have doughnuts and English muffin egg sandwiches with fresh vegetables and cheese which sell fast and are just to die for! We have ordered cakes and cupcakes for various occasions and they are extremely accommodating and help us decide on the best flavor combination. The sweets are always beautifully presented and they will not put something in the case unless it meets their high standards. All of the beverages are amazing. I always start the day with some kind of latte and my wife loves their matcha. Their espresso and coffee is the absolute best around and is imported from Italy. We have both had many many many cups of coffee in our days, so believe me when I say it is always perfect. On the days they're closed we are lost trying to find comparable coffee in the area. We have had many of their teas as well which have all been delicious. Once we ordered a tea pot to enjoy in house and we received it beautifully presented on a tray with honey, sugar, tea cups, and milk. Highly recommend! The staff are all incredible, sweet and want to ensure every customer has a perfect experience. If something isn't right, they will do everything they can to fix it. The owner Raffaella is extremely kind and is passionate about her work. She often talks to her regular customers and makes us feel like family! We love to sit in the bakery especially if we're working or reading because it's such a nice place to spend time. It's bright, clean, and the music is always great! The style of music changes based on whose playlist is on and we love to see what's going to be on every day. In terms of price, it's very on par with the quality. If you want coffee and breakfast for cheap with questionable ingredients and quality, go to Dunkin' donuts. If you want something you know you'll enjoy, definitely give Dolce a try. read more

I'm sorry to say this but I had a bad experience with their cupcakes. Two of three were overcooked and welded to the paper. We threw most of those two away. If you are going to charge $6 per cupcake this is really unacceptable. Add on our Sicilian lemon cookies, milk chocolate mousse, and ginormous almond croissant and all you are missing is your Italian villa. So good, buttery, light, flavorful. Based on the other Yelp photos, it looks like they're exclusively a cakes place, but they have a wider assortment of pastries that expands to include a few varieties of donuts on Saturday mornings. Being a donut aficionado, that was my mission. Glazed: It's a plain raised donut with a glaze around the ring on top. Looks pretty simple, but very nicely done. The underlying donut was still a little warm at 8:00 opening, and the texture was soft without the usual stiffness that accompanied the more upscale places. The dough had a nice flavor without being sweet; that job went to the frosting, which had loads of sugar but also a little citrus thrown in. It reminded me (and you have to be at least 50 to remember) of those Kellogg's Danish Go Rounds from the early 1970s, only more homemade. Very enjoyable. Sugar Donut: Nothing special here; another plainish raised donut, dipped in sugar, but soft and fresh. It remained soft for several hours after purchasing--a feat many other donuts can't claim. Chocolate Croissant: Didn't have the flakiness of a high end croissant, coming in more like the (respectable) Costco version, but nice buttery flavor. Chocolate chunks were sparse but of fairly high quality. This is a tough one to assign stars to: they're better than what a 3 implies and not quite what a 4 implies; a 3.5 would be right on the money. So I'll give a 4 with this caveat: they're more of a "good for the area" 4 than a "worth a drive for" 4, and there's nothing wrong with that. read more

I finally got around to trying this bakery Saturday afternoon. The inside is very beautifully decorated with appetizing display cases. There was a great selection of items so I bought several things to take home and share with my family. There were a couple of staff members that were helpful and friendly however they were overshadowed by a staff member who kept getting up from a table on the side and coming behind the counter, interrupting to talk about tips, getting into the tip jar, divvying up tips, etc. with customers at the counter. I got the feeling the other 2 counter girls were also aware of and annoyed by it but continued doing their best to work with the customers. The chai latte I bought was weak, almost like a flavored milk so that didn't really do it for me. My family enjoyed the chocolate croissants, chocolate chip cookies and cupcakes. I bought a piece of the signature chocolate cake however was so sad when I got home and realized it had a layer of caramel as it appeared to be all chocolate which is my favorite. Overall, this place has a lot of potential and I would try it again. I think some improvements on the drinks and a little more hospitality training would make a huge difference. read more

What am absolute delight stumbling across this bakery! The lavender honey latte was not too sweet just a perfect cup of coffee to go with one of the most fantastic tasty pistachio macaron. The filling was light, creamy and not overly sugary. So good I had to have two! My opinion don't mess too much with a classic like Carrot Cake. Or call it "Modern Carrot Cake" just so people know what to expect. Dolce Amar did both my wedding cake and custom donuts for the rehearsal dinner, and both were fabulous. But even for everyday occasions, Dolce Amar is amazing. I've never had something I didn't like and I've tried a lot of their baked goods from croissants to bars to macarons. Their coffee drinks are also delicious and not too sweet. How would you feel being discriminated against while buying a treat for your family? The moment I walked into the shop the woman behind the counter looked up and down, rolled her eyes and watched me like a hawk. Asking every half minute if I was ready to order and walking behind the counter as I was looking at the baked goods. Now I could look past that, it was not the first time and most certainly not the last time that has happened to me in a store, sadly. What was most troubling to me was when I was paying for the over priced goods, I was looking in my purse for some change to put into their tip jar. Trying to be the bigger person and do something nice despite how I was being treated. The woman saw me looking through my purse and grabbed the tip jar placing it on the far counter behind her. I was shocked. I refrained from saying anything fearing it would only make matters worse. By the time I had got out to my car she had put the jar back out front. Nice. They were great to work with -- Raffaella coordinated with our venue to drop off cake samples so we could do a cake tasting in the same trip as our food tasting, and then coordinated with our florist to get the flowers day-of.
