I must say their KETO MENU is right on point!!! My boyfriend and I have been doing keto for a while now and the KETO PIZZA here is the best ever! We used to just get the meat lovers, but now we also get the spinach ricotta as well!! Both are absolutely amazing! Yes, you know it's not "regular" pizza, but the crust is really good. 95% of the time, it's been crisp and tasty and just the right thickness. Giving an accurate review, I do need to say there was one or two times the crust was soggy and not so great and hard to eat. But those times never stopped us from reordering; that's how good it is. We've also had some main dishes that have been good, but we like the pizza so much more. Out of their other food, the garlic mashed cauliflower is AMAZEBALLS!!!! I literally ran my finger in the container to get every last bit. We've also had their desserts. Must say the birthday cake, and other cakes, are really good. Very dense due to the type of flour used, but otherwise really good. They have cold desserts that are mousse like with some crumble at the bottom. My wife and I are in town from Indianapolis and was taken to this great establishment by my brother-in-law who said they have the best keto menu and is the only keto menu for that matter that he's ever seen in a restaurant. I have to say as far as I'm concerned he was absolutely on spot! Antoinnetta (the owner) was able to greet us at the door when we arrived. She was a delightful woman who was very appreciative of us being there and couldn't wait for us to try her Keto menu. As I'm on the keto diet plan she had a full menu of foods that I have not been able to eat for weeks bread with burgers, pretzels with mustard sauce, an aioli which was out of this world (you would give up ketchup for this stuff), and CAKE!! There wasn't one thing our table of three did not thoroughly enjoy! It was all delicioso!! We started with the Beef tacos and pretzels. The taco shells were made of cheese and they had beef, lettuce, tomato, sour cream, and guacamole inside of them. They were to die for, especially on this Keto no taco shell diet. The pretzels were soft, chewy, buttery, and delicious twisted up pieces of bread that I could have eaten and eaten. I had the Dolce Bacon Cheese Burger and it was soooooo amazing! It was juicy and delicious and i could eat the BUN!! The bun is made with almond flour. It was very satisfying especially when you're not allowed to have bread. It was very hard to tell that it was made with almond flour, it was just as if I were eating a traditional bread! The burger was accompanied with an OUT of THIS WORLD Sriracha mashed cauliflower! I've never had such quality mashed cauliflower (not even my own at home). I'm not one to give out five stars, but this restaurant deserved every one of the stars available!! The atmosphere, service, and hostess/owner/chef were fantastic. Everything came together and what pushed it to five stars were the awesome desserts that were also available on the keto menu! All I need say is "Snickers Cheese Cake"!! Ooooh my Goodness God bless Antoinnetta for her Keto menu!! I will start this as I always do by saying that I don't give out five stars unless I am really blown away. I was very happy with our choice to stop in to this restaurant. They are unique in the fact that they offer a keto menu. We both ordered from the menu and ordered the keto chicken tacos appetizer. It was very tasty. The shell of it was cooked cheese. The only complaint I could give is the shell wasn't crunchy but I wasn't really expecting it to be. I was very happy with the appetizer. I got the park crusted chicken and she got the cauliflower crusted salmon. Both were excellent. The both had vegetables and mashed cauliflower on the side. The cauliflower mash was the best I have had. It was like mashed potatoes. I spoke with the owner and she told me how they do it which was great info. She also gave me a bunch of other pointers for the keto diet. Overall the experience was great. We loved the menu and the options keto and not keto. The atmosphere was nice and great for a date. I'm so bummed it took me so long to come here. Wow have I been missing out! They have top notch service, great prices, and amazing food. They are located in a very easy to access area and even have a lot to park in! This is pretty dang rare for the city. They have quite a big menu so you can be confident that you will find exactly what you are looking for. What I really want to talk about will blow your mind. If you are on the Keto diet, low carb, or Atkins, you are going to be so happy. This is one of the only restaurants I have ever been to that has a low carb menu specifically for people watching what they eat. They have a delicious assortment of dishes that will bring tears to your eyes. You will once again have tacos, burgers with buns, and noodles! They also have so many low carb desserts too. I couldn't believe what I was able to eat. On top of that, each dish has the nutrition info so that you know exactly what carbs, fat, and proteins you are getting. Ever since I had read an article in the Syracuse New Times about Dolce Vita, I had wanted to stop down and give it a try. Located in the "Connective Corridor" on E.Genesee St, it is nearby Syracuse Stage, Syracuse University, and downtown Syracuse. While it doesn't look very big from the outside, Dolce Vita has a spacious bar and a good sized dining area, so we never felt cramped. The beer and wine selection was great - my only disappointment was the lack of a seasonal beer - but the bartender said he thought they might have one in soon. While waiting for our table, we had the wheat pita with sundried tomato hummus - fantastic. The pita came out warm and the hummus was heated up just a bit as well. When we were seated, we were brought some warm bread as well as a small sausage and bean dip that was a "gift" from the chef for us to try with our bread. I thought this was a nice touch, and the dip was excellent. Our server was extremely helpful and knowledgeable about their menu and made good recommendations. For our entrees, I decided to be boring and try the Kobe beef burger with some sweet potato fries. I had never tried Kobe beef and have heard wonderful things, so I thought "tonight is the night". Alas, the sweet potato fries never arrived - I received regular fries instead, but since we had a great service and the atmosphere was so nice, it didn't bother me at all. My girlfriend had the Sophia Lauren, which the server told us was their signature dish. This was risotto rice with pork and shrimp mixed in. It was delicious and a good sized portion. We ended up bringing half of it home. The desserts looked nice on their way by to other tables, but we decided not to try any on this night. While we finished up dinner and our drinks, a band had set up and started to play. Combined with the freshly dimmed lights and wide drink selection, this set up a certain ambiance that you wouldn't expect to find in Syracuse. I felt like I was in a tucked away spot straight out of New York City! Dolce Vita would be a great place to take a date or a small group. It won't break the bank, but still feels really upscale. While visiting Syracuse, we were looking for keto options so I was super excited to try the keto menu! I ordered the keto pretzel however when ordering was informed that they were trying something different so it was cinnamon sugar and that was the only option. I wasn't a fan, it was hard in some spots and soft in others and lacked flavor. I think it would have been better plain with a cheese or mustard dipping sauce. We also got the keto meat lovers pizza (minus bacon and ham) and my husband said that was "money" - it tastes more like a real pizza than we've had in months! I wish the crust was a bit crispier but that may have been because of delivery time and it did have good flavor! The broccoli chicken Alfredo with zoodles was also really good. I thought the Alfredo had a great flavor. Finally, the keto chocolate peanut butter cake was quite good . Was it as good as a non-keto dessert, no, but it was pretty darn satisfying! We went tonight to try the Keto menu! Three of us ate Keto, my husband did not. I honestly have no idea what he even got, we were so wrapped up in our Keto dishes! Between the three of us we got a whole bunch of items and shared it: Keto pretzels: texture was fantastic. Buttery and the right kind of chewy. Mustard was perfect too. Keto crab cakes: absolutely to die for. The chipotle aioli was amazing. I want these every day. 3 cheese chicken pesto zoodles: really really good. Parmesan crusted chipotle chicken with bacon scallion mashed cauliflower: amazing. My favorite dish. Even the veggies were delicious. Chicken bacon ranch Keto pizza: puzzling in the best way. It was delicious. We were confused how it was so good and how the crust was so perfect! And dessert we shared a cookies and cream cheesecake and a Reese's cheesecake that were incredible! And Keto! We saw a promotion for this place on yelp for a free app with purchase of two entres, which is in. There were really good signs at first, lots of appetizer options, a bar, and reasonable prices. We ordered some drinks and the GLASSES WERE CHILLED! Off to a good start. Unfortunately our draft beer was flat. :/ The food was very hit or miss. Appetizers: Mushroom Pillows - Hit! Calamari - Miss - too much breading and was kind of hard Tuna Skewers - Hit hit hit! Crab Cakes - Miss - too breaded, could be smaller and crabbier and would be much better. Entres: Cajun Pasta - Hit! Order with shrimp! Szechuan Stir Fry - miss miss miss - too much sauce which was too sweat. Barely ate any. Just need to weed the duds off the menu and this place could easily get 4 stars, maybe 5. The service was definitely good! The biggest lost of stars was the fact that half of the food we ordered just wasn't that enjoyable, which I think can be remedied. The staff is amazing and super attentive, the crab cakes were to die for, the atmosphere is perfect, the music is spot on, the water was cold and clean, the rib eye was amazing along with the wings and the chocolate cake. Absolutely horrible experience ordering takeout from both dolce vita and Franco's tonight. First the menu online was combined with Franco's next door and says it's the dolce menu. Second we were overcharged when we got there. Was supposed to be $68 but we're charged $77. Third they only take cash and did not tell us on the phone and is no where on their website. I find this very sketchy because they had a card machine out in sight. But they do not want to have to pay for the credit fees. Fourth the food presentation was disgusting and the food itself was horrible. I ordered the eggplant rolitili and it was awful. The meal was freezing cold and tasted like a frozen meal from a grocery store. Fifth they got our orders wrong. They gave a hard gross bun instead of a wrap. And did not give fries and the salad we ordered. This is the worst takeout food my family has ever had. The place was also disgusting and dirty inside (Franco's). We are quite disappointed as it was our first time ordering from here and it is my moms birthday. The last photo I am including is a picture of how the eggplant was supposed to look. There were three of us at 12:30 on Saturday before a 2 PM matinee at Syracuse Stage, despite being the only people there, it took 45 minutes to get three sandwiches and and the drinks we ordered first took 20. I ordered for first time from this restaurant. I ordered the wild mushroom ravioli in a marsala cream sauce. I am at work driving a bus and wanted to try something new. I paid 16 dollars for this item and only received 5 regular sized ravioli. That is absolutely ridiculous. I was extremely disappointed. For that price, I expected more or at least a side. I came here for a Yelp Elite Members Community Event with a friend, and it was both our first experience at Dolce Vita. They had free appetizers out for our enjoyment, including Burschetta, Pita Chips with Hummus and Pasta, and everything was delicious. As we are big fitness enthusiasts and ALWAYS hungry, we decided that we wanted to sit at the bar and order from their menu. So, we ordered a few appetizers to share, being the Lemon Grass Gyoza, Cajun Chicken Artisan Pizza, and the Spicy Crispy Calamari. Everything was delicious, though we especially enjoyed the Calamari and hot sauce for the Calamari as well as the Pizza. For drinks, I tried the Orange Crush, while my friend tried the Fruity Pebbles. We enjoyed the drinks, but they were a bit too dessert-like for our taste to have again, but they were still quite good, so I'd recommend giving it a try rather than going by our preferences for a drink. We heard about the Chicken Tornadoes and the Egg Rolls, both of which were not being served that day, so unfortunately we were bummed about that, but we plan to go back and see how they taste!! Thanks to my mother-in-law for recommending we visit Dolce to celebrate her birthday! Not sure how old Dolce is, but it appears as though they have some wrinkles to work out with their service. However, they have no problems with food quality. I had the Black and Blue steak which was excellent - best steak I've had in a while. Others seemed to enjoy their meals as well (unfortunately, my mother-in-law's meal was the least flavorful of the bunch). I am hopeful that Dolce works out their service issues and continues offering and improving upon their delicious entrees. If they can work out service they will be around for a while - if not, they won't make it. The food will bring me back one more time, but if service doesn't improve, it may be my last. All in all, I recommend giving it a try. And make sure to post your experience on Yelp for all of us to see. read more

Proximity to Syracuse Stage and a fairly eclectic and tasty menu have made me a regular here for years. After a year or so away, I returned recently and was disappointed by two of the appetizers which seemed to be overly salty to compensate for an otherwise bland flavor. Those were the crab cakes and the lemon grass dumplings, however, the Dolce sliders were delicious. Our shared entree consisting of bleu cheese crumbles over a ribeye steak, served with garlic mashed potatoes along with sautéed zucchini and squash was also delightful. I'd certainly be open to trying again, perhaps ignoring the appetizers and focusing exclusively on entrees instead. read more

A co-worker and I checked this place out a few weeks ago. I really liked this place. They have a terrific local NY menu and the service is really friendly. The dishes are a little pricey, but everything is so delicious, it is worth a splurge. The peanut butter and chocolate dessert was especially decadent... I would go there for that dish alone! I don't see how this place could receive a 5 star rating from anyone. I came here with my gf and we look around and there were only two tables taken in this joint. The host/ server is in the back chit chatting with the cooks while we are waiting to be seated. The server comes out looking like he is wearing his older brother's clothes and looked unprofessional. The presentation was not the best but I'm more about the taste anyways. Light breading and cooked perfectly! Just wish there was a slice of lemon and some crushed peppercorn and boom this would be excellent! The server was not very attentive as we always had to wait until he came around to ask him to refill our water. I heard the guy laughing in the back with his cooks, instead of being a helpful server. Anyways to the food. Paella $22. I saw paella on the menu and i automatically wanted this dish! The only other paella I tried was at Rainforest Cafe, but unfortunately they took it off their menu. I was very excited to try Dolce Vita's Paella. Woah bad choice!! Everything on my plate was overcooked and the rice was swimming in sauce. I tried to eat as much as I could because it's seafood and it was $22. I could only manage to eat one shrimp, some chicken, and all the mussels. The rice was uneatable nad the scallops were greatly over cooked! This had to be one of the biggest disappointments, especially because I was very excited to have paella. Seafood Scampi $18. All of it was in a sea of sauce! It just didn't look appetizing because of the sauce. I tried the pasta and i liked it, but first I had to let all of the sauce drain off the pasta noodles. The seafood on her dish was also overcooked! She had a couple of scallops that were a little undercooked, but they were edible. This place doesn't deserve any stars but that option is not available. Save yourself the pain and go across the street to Phoebe's. Trust me! If you want a beer and an appetizer then this could be your place. Honestly, I think I could see this place on Gordon Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares. I didn't see the back of the house but I could imagine. Yikes! read more

Visited Dolce Vita last night after seeing it reviewed here and in the paper. The place was packed and we did not have reservations so we opted to sit in the bar. They aren't kidding when they say "World Bistro" - they had selections from many parts of the world! We started with soups that were excellent and so were the entrees. The only complaint we had was we had to ask twice for napkins and again for flatware but that's likely because we were seated in the bar where it did not seem that they were used to serving meals. Definitely worth a visit but I do suggest reservations if you want to go on a weekend night. read more

Dolce Vita is a great addition to East Genesee Street, right across the street from Phoebe's. We made the mistake of going there the day after Yolanda wrote her Post Standard review of the place. Needless to say, it was quite busy. The hostess did whatever she could to fit us in. She gave us a choice of a table in main restaurant as long as we could be out by 7:00 for a party that had reserved the table or a table at in the bar area. We chose to sit in the bar area. There is a wide variety of dishes to choose from, ranging from a wide variety of cuisines. I started with the Greek Minestrone Soup which was delicious. It was topped with Feta cheese, which is always a plus in my book. We both ordered two *different* chicken dishes. In essence, the chicken itself was the same chicken prepared exactly the same way (or at least seemed liked it), only the sides were different. Having said that it was quite good. The service was friendly, but a bit off (just a bit). I will chalk that up to being unusually busy that night. There was a sign referencing a lunch buffet which sounded quite good. We may need to check that out some time. I look forward to going back and starting a Dolce Vita "World Tour" of the menu. read more
