I have been using Dolcini Plumbing for over 20 years & can't believe I have yet to give them a review. My drainage was backing up regularly & they came up w/ the idea to notify me annually to remind me to have the line cleared to prevent this rather than have my shower & tub clog once a year & it works brilliantly. Since the trap they need to access is outdoors, they can arrange to do the job while I'm @ work & trust me to pay by billing me. They're careful to explain what the problems are in a way I can understand, get me help quickly, and I trust them in my home. read more

We had called for service on 10/7 around 1:30pm to address a clogged drain. Spoke with Jason and he said they'd be able to come later that day. Within around 1 to 1 1/2 hours Jared arrived. He worked super hard but was unable to clear it. Not from lack of trying. We rescheduled for another visit and both Jared and Jason performed the repair beyond our satisfaction. The star is because the men were very polite. We had used Dolcini twice years ago. Once was to snake our toilet at our previous home and we were extremly happy and that is why I called again. I had them out a while ago for a noise in the pipes which I thought was related to the toilet clogging that week. The noise was insignificant and when I asked if they would snake the toilet they told me they would have to remove the toilet and take it out of the room. I assume since I have never known of a toilet having to be removed to snake they actually didn't want to work. I still wrote the approximately $200.00 check for dropping by, felt ripped-off and they left. read more

I walked out in the garage to find hot hot hot steaming water spewing out of the TPR valve on my water heater during my lunch break (hurray for working at home!). I called Dolcini and got there answering machine since they close for lunch. However, at 1:20 I got a call back and they were able to get me on the schedule for the next day (since it was a bit of mess in my garage) and said they'd see if anyone finished early and could still come by today. Thankfully Jared was able to come by and quickly confirmed it was a bad TPR valve and replaced it. He was patient with my MANY questions and made sure I was comfortable with the repair before he left. It took maybe an hour? Discovered I had a leak in the piping under my house recently and was referred to Dolcini Plumbing. It was an urgent situation and they were able to get someone out first thing the very next morning! Scheduling was very easy and the person I talked to was very helpful and friendly. Just as they said they would, they called exactly 15 minutes before arriving, and arrived promptly at the agreed upon time as well. They were able to fix my problem in a much shorter amount of time than I was expecting and also for much less than I was anticipating. I am tremendously relieved that the problem was resolved quickly and I have my water back on again and we were able to prevent future damage or issues from the leaking pipe. They do the job right, and you can depend of them to get it done right and on time. My only complaint, if you will, is the per hour labor charge of $160. But, they don't waste their time and focus on the job itself. We have used Dolcini many times in our 25 years in Petaluma. I would recommend Dolcini for all plumbing needs. Jared was out the next morning and replaced pipes and capped an old line. In the same email I mentioned an upstairs toilet that needed to be checked, he came Thursday for that. We've used Dolcini for years and found them expensive but at least the job got done. This time, it was a very very small job. Stop the shower faucet from dripping, and clear out the drain. The drain clog didn't get fixed as they didn't have the part. Told me to go to Friedman's, which I reluctantly did. The parts there don't fit exactly right. So now I have spent 3 hours of my own time to fix the job that Dolcini said they would fix, and charged me $194 for. And it's still not done. Call Dolcini? Yep, we did. All they said was they can't carry all the parts all the time, and they would have to charge me another $194 for a second trip. Bear in mind that the plumber spent 15 minutes during the service call "fixing" our problem, and 25 minutes in his van preparing the invoice. We won't call Dolcini again. They didn't fix the problem. Half-a$$ work, telling me to go to Friedman's. Then zero customer care and compassion when we called. They could easily have sent the plumber back with the part when he was in the area. It would have taken 5 minutes tops, and we would all have been happy. Unfortunate. read more

I just had Jared at my house for a double basin stoppage. When he went to clear the stoppage he found a broken pipe in the wall. His showed me the break where it was broken and how it was broken. He cleared the stoppage and repaired the broken portion of the drain pipe. He has my plumbing running as good as new. Jared is courteous, on time and polite. He is an excellent serviceman. Not so sure about this plumbing company. We recently purchased a home in Petaluma. The previous owner gave us all the contacts he used on remodeling he had done to the home which was great we thought. Dolcini was the plumber on the remodel. The bathroom water lines were swapped (left was cold, right was hot). Even the kitchen faucet was set up wrong. The water heater did not work properly. The plumber who came was not knowledgeable about the project even though we gave him the dates the remodel work had been done and what the issues were. He never offered to fix their mistakes either. When we closed on the sale we were also told that a sewer lateral inspection report and video had been done. Yet the paid invoice does not document any of this. Expensive and lackadaisical. We for sure will not recommend them. We definitely have had better. read more

We had a kitchen sink that was backed up and would not drain. Called Friday morning and they gave me a window between 12:30 - 3:30. The associate (Jason) showed up right at 3:30. After about 30 minutes the problem was fixed. Jason was extremely professional, friendly and answered all of our plumbing related questions without making us feel dumb, in fact he took the time to fix a very small problem with the master bedroom sink. All and all Dolcini Plumbing exceeded my expectations and I wouldn't hesitate to refer them to family and friends. read more

We called them for a clogged sink- the water was very slow to drain. The young man came (I forget his name), ran the water, and said it seemed to be draining fine. He left and charged us $170. The sink kept clogging and my husband had to take apart the pipes himself and found something lodged inside. Why didn't the plumber do this for us? Not cool. Not impressed. read more

I was very impressed with my first Dolcini experience. I've used another highly rated plumbing service in town twice, only to have poor follow-up on both occasions and the feeling of being "nickeled and dimed" along the way. My water heater suddenly stopped working yesterday, so I called a different highly rated plumber first and never got a call back. I thought I'd give Dolcini a try, even though they didn't have as many Yelp reviews as the other two competitors, and I'm very pleased that I did. Eugene came out the same day I called, and was on time as promised. He was very professional and friendly, he walked me through the repair work needed with transparency on the pricing up front. About 30 min later, my water heater worked again, I understood the repair that was done and there was no upselling or extras added to the final bill. He even recommended that I contact the manufacturer for reimbursement since the water heater was still under warranty and gave me some references for other work I needed around the house. It was more like dealing with a friend of a friend, someone looking out for my wallet, than the traditional plumber experience. Quality, reliability and honesty go a long way in my book. I moved here about 9 years ago and first used Dolcini on a neighbors recommendation. Since then, I've had minor calls and major calls all of which they were able to correct quickly and correctly. My measure of a tradsman is getting it fixed the first time, and by that measure, they do a great job. I have recommended them to other since and have never heard a complaint. Stay away from these guys, they charged my mother in law for work they didn't do. She called mid April for a leaking cold water spigot in the tub. The guy was out for 5 minutes and charged her $140 for replacing all three gaskets and seats. Fast forward to June and the hot water is leaking and the shower knob won't move the water from the tub to shower. So to save her another $140 I take a look. Both gaskets in the hot and shower knob are old and totally shredded apart. So for good measure I check the cold knob and it has a brand new gasket. So even though they charged her for an hour of labor and replacing all three gaskets, they only spent 5 minutes replacing the cold. read more

I didn't know what to expect from a plumber but the phone rep, Justine, was pleasant, and as it turned out, efficient, always a good omen Originally she told me that i would have to wait a day for a plumber but within an hour she called back to say it would be possible to send Jason over that afternoon. That was good news to us living in a house with no gas so no stove, no heat and no hot water. Jason arrived within the time period that Justine had estimated and got to work. He was pleasant, businesslike, professional and thoughtful. After fixing the gas line problem, and installing the new clothes dryer he then re-lit our water heater, the furnace and the stove. This was all accomplished within the one hour minimum period. Would I call them again? You betcha! They would be at the top of my list. read more

I can't say enough about these guys! We had our kitchen faucet poop out last night with the water stuck running, so I shut off the water and called Dolcini first thing this morning. The person who answered the phone was very courteous and professional. I told her I wanted to get the new fixture myself from a local store and have them install it. She told me that was fine and to just give them another call once I had the fixture. A couple hours later I called them back, fixture and hand, and was delighted to hear they could have someone out as soon as two hours later. Skip ahead, the owner Jason showed up and went straight to work. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and fast. Adjusted a couple of other unrelated things for me at no extra charge and spent the whole time he was working talking to my 3 year old son about his tools, which he kept touching and asking what they were. By the time he left, they were fast friends and my son was convinced her wanted to be a plumber lol. Overall, this company was professional, friendly, reasonably priced, and came out same day which was great for me. They are also locally and family owned, which makes them even better. I would refer them to anyone needing a plumber in a heartbeat. read more

First, I have to say, that I have been in a customer service related business for 38 years. Today when I got home, I was greeted with a backed up drain. Upon calling Dolcini Plumbing, I spoke with Justine, who was caring, efficient, and very prompt on everything that she could do for me. Justine gave me a very quick response time for them to come out, and took my phone number to confirm when they would be on their way. It wasn't an hour later, when she called me back and said that they would be there in 15 minutes......an hour before she promised them for me. We had our shower and toilet backup, I went under the house to snake it and managed to undo a sewer clean out that just wouldn't go back on. I called Dolcini and they had Eugene out a few hours later to fix it. We scheduled an appointment and he came out later to install a clean out in the front yard so we wouldn't have to go under the house anymore. That turned out to be a heavily complicated process which they took care of without many issues. Fast forward to today, a few months later, and we noticed a smell from the shower and under the house. We found the cap under the house had popped off after the sewer had backed up again. Jason, Eugene and Jared came out to fix it within 3 hours of my call. They secured it fully and re-snaked the sewer and showed me on the camera where the bad joint was. They took 3 of their trucks and guys out of the field to correct an issue, all free of charge. I would definitely recommend calling Dolcini for any plumbing needs! read more
